I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Rooms are small and dirty. The smell of urine is so strong it makes you gag. They lost my mother's hearing aids and have yet to replace them. Haven't had a care meeting or social review once and loved one has been there over 2 weeks.

My mother-in-law was at Fairway Oaks Center. She was there for three days. It was fine but she was not happy. She's not happy at all in any type of place like that though. The care and the therapy were fine. They were all very nice people. My mother-in-law was in a shared room, but there was nobody in it. She was receiving PT, OT, and speech therapy. The building was fair. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great. It wasn't fine.

I visited this facility

Heidi is amazing. She has helped me move my Uncle from a sister facility , which was awful. She followed up on every single phone call. If she didn't know something she found out the correct answer instead of just guessing. She called after hours to make sure my family was ok. She is a definite asset to this facility. She pays attention to detail. When arriving after hours, they immediately took my uncle. Fed him Cleaned him. Taught him how to use phone. The NURSE m Manager, Receptionist all were amazing. Facility was clean. Gardens well kept. I was given a tour and explained what to expect. I was able to walk out of there knowing My uncle was going to be well taken care of. I can finally have a good night sleep! Heidi made it happen and I could have not done it without her. THANK YOU SO MUCH 😊🌺🌺

Mom's Memory

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

When my mother began her journey there, all began rather well and all seemed great. As time went by and I continued to visit her, I noticed some very down moments. Her days began very well, she ate and was very happy. Slowly, especially after the virus announcement, things began to happen, not only with Mom, but at the nursing home, their surroundings. The level of care went down rather fast, as did my mom. There were requests made by me that were not followed and when her breathing got bad, they did nothing to take care of it. I requested for her to be moved to a hospital for assistance, I asked for her to be placed on a wheelchair for a walk around the nursing home, this didn't happen either and other requests. It is rather questionable to me since my mother's death because I saw firsthand how quickly after her breathing problems began, she began to go downhill. Although she was up in age, I know firsthand that she had some health issues, but they were all under control up until she went to hospice, then transferred to the nursing home. Although, I can't bring her back, to date, I feel that something went really wrong, really fast.

I am/was a resident of this facility

My mom has been here for 7 years. We are very please most of the time. Few issues when new staff come in. Fairway fixes everything quickly. The place is very clean. The staff in my mom's area are very friendly and helpful. During Covid they call with updates regularly. They even had a parade to drive by and wave.

Staff was not ready to recieve nor attempt to recieve patient when we arrived. They did not even provide assistance to get to her room. We even had to request wheel chair and got not welcoming answers form staff and supervisor in charge. The hall ways were full of patients without supervision, the bed was not mad, the facility was vert dirty and there was no air conditioning. After being there for several minutes without speaking to someone a tray was brought to the room. Based on the content of the food tray, I know they had no information on the patient's diet. When trying to communicate to staff for assistance after our horrible experience, staff was very rude and unwilling to help.

Not a very good place for your loved one. You have to constantly stay on the staff and management about the care and cleanliness of the facility. Poor nursing care. The family have to be the 24/7,otherwise your loved one will be in trouble. Most of the nurse has a very bad attitude problem and will not come even if the call light is on. Would not recommend this place.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I do not know how this place could get this rating. My grandmother was there 6 days and they did not give her enough fluids and she ended up back in the hospital for bad dehydration. The dr. Oneil said to give her an extra cup of water after I called him several times and demanded that he check her out. There was no records kept of her not pooping for 6 days, no bath or bed bath given even though I requested it, they did not comb her hair or anything at all but change her diaper. She was awake and talking the first 3 days and the next 3 she was out around the clock and they didnt care one bit. Her roommate screaming help for 30 minutes asking to go to the bathroom.. I went out to get help for her and they said they would be around in a while. This women was not in a diaper but can not walk. Shame on them at Fairway oaks.

Great Rehab

My 86 year old dad fell off a ladder while cleaning the gutters and broke his hip. After surgery, his doctor recommended skilled rehab and suggested we go to Fairway Oaks Center. My dad was treated so well, he almost didn't want to go home. He still talks about their homemade soup. I told him not to break the other hip, we can go back and visit for lunch! LOL
