Recently placed my Mother in this 'Community', & indeed it has a community feel. Staff is super attentive to her needs and provide a home-like atmosphere. Nice sized rooms with warm & friendly common areas plus spacious, distancing dining room. After touring 5 other local facilities, Colonial won our family and my Mother's vote!

We toured Colonial Assisted Living at Tampa. It was very clean and pretty, but the rooms were a little bit small for two people. I have a sewing machine that I want to use, so I need a bigger room, and I have a double bed that I want to take. I like that they had a piano, their facilities are very good and the family room was nice.

The commitment to the care and well-being of vulnerable elderly residents of Denise, the Director of Nursing at Colonial Assisted Living at Tampa, deserves the highest commendation. The excellent record of Colonial Assisted Living at Tampa in protecting the health of staff and vulnerable residents during the extreme challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic speaks volumes for the success of their response to the health care crisis. Since I do not reside in Florida, I am only commenting on my direct experience with the staff.

The community has made some changes and all for the better. The new management is wonderful, and know every resident and staff by name. There is a warm sense of a family atmosphere from everyone in the building. You can tell they all have a heart for what they do and truly do care about their residents. Highly highly recommend this community!

It was a nice, little place with nice, little meals. I could see that the staff was very caring and that the clientele was well taken care of. The staff knew just about everybody that walked by them by name. They had a TV in the common area.

This community was very nice, but it's not a secure facility. I'd recommend it for senior living or just regular assisted living where there is not security involved as far as the patients are concerned. The facility was very nice, and I liked it. The rooms were very nice and adequate, the place was very clean, it had a very nice community room with televisions and a nice aquarium, dining was no problem at all, and their price was right in the same range as the rest of them. The patients could come and go as they pleased, and the staff was very helpful and got a lot of advice from them with financing. Everything was spacious as far as the dining and community rooms, and the people I saw there seemed to be happy.

We currently have a family member who currently lives here and they are happy with the facility. When we first her in the place was a bit outdated by we overlooked that due to the favorable cost. Fortunately they have provided great service to our family member without any problems. We are happy with the services and hope to have her here until she finishes rehab.

I have a family member who is rather difficult due to some mental issues. He has been in many assisted living communities over the last 5 years. This is the first place that took the necessary time to meet his needs and make him feel like he was at home. The administrator Sherry is also a nurse. She checks in with me on a regular basis. Nice friendly staff, clean nice building.
Provider Response
We are glad you enjoyed your visit. At Sunrise Senior Village, we think of our residents as family and we always try and go the extra mile to ensure their stay with us is an enjoyable one.

My sister is in a private room here. The director said it is clean, the food is good, and it is affordable. And, the affordable part of that made it extremely attractive. They have a social area where they have a big television set. She doesn't complain about the food being bad. My sister is very difficult; she cannot communicate in a normal sense. There is some staff that she really, really likes, and there are a few she sometimes says she has issues with. She is incontinent, and when her husband was taking care of her she would get urinary tract infections all the time. After I took over, I started using wet wipes every time she pees, but I don't want her to take it upon herself to wipe after peeing; I want somebody else doing it, and they are following that instruction. And then, they used the wet wipes, and in this whole year, knock on wood, she has not had one urinary tract infection. They really are taking care of her, and that is extremely important because that would be the first place that it would show up if she wasn't being cleaned properly. Her room gives you a feeling more of a nursing home type, but the flooring is tiled and it is light, it is very bright, and it is washed every day.

We are happy you feel we are offering appropriate care for your sister. We are sensitive to all our resident’s individual needs and strive to provide the best care possible.
Not impressed.

I have visited this place often and I never fail to see dirty patients. It seems no one checks to see if the patients are bathed or change their clothes every day.

This is an Assisted Living Facility and I have volunteered there. it is nice, clean facility; patience cared for in a kind and loving manner. Entertainment provided, and play games with the residents and seniors in service also provide companion services for the residents.
