I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father was a resident for 8/22-9/20/2021. He is atrophied. Lack of physcial exercise. Oh but wait, PT was to see him 5 days a week. Poor nutrition is another cause. Sloughing off skin; redness on coccyx. All caused from moisture. Well if they didn't let him sit in his diarrhea for long periods of time, maybe, just maybe this wouldn't have happened. A shower maybe? Why wasn't the diarrhea treated? or investigated to see what the cause was? NO, they couldn't do that, had to give him Norco 4 times a day. This is a man that that type of narcotic would knock him out, which it did. If I could give negative or no stars I would. I understand being short staffed... where is the DON? the DSD? the MDS coordinator? why aren't they stepping up and helping as nurses? No excuse. I wouldn't send my dead dog to this facility.

I visited this facility

Arlington Gardens Care Center was very good. I liked it, and that was the one that I was supposed to go to. It was very clean, the whole thing was very nice and they had very nice nurses. They were also very friendly and explained things to me. They have onsite therapy and I spoke to somebody from there who told me about how they were taking care of the people. Another nurse talked to me and said that they clean everything every day or as much as they need. The dining room was very nice and very clean too.

Nice facilities, but the level of care here is not good. Pressing the call button -- even for the bathroom -- goes ignored for anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours. They have too many patients for the number of staff they have to care for them, and most of the people they have are in training. My family member is in worse shape now after 10 days than when they arrived. He is helped to the bathroom and told the person will return--and they sometimes don't come back for 30 minutes. Avoid this place if you can!

Arlington Gardens Care Center was a beautiful place. It was all brand new and all top-of-the-line, but Mom said the staff was unfriendly and not attentive. They didn't have too many activities there. They have a TV room and a very nice exercise room with a lot of new equipment. The dining area was big, nice, and clean, and the food was good.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was here for 5 days in October, after spending 15 days in the hospital. We didn't think she was ready to come home & quickly researched a few care facilities. Arlington Gardens was very beautiful & clean, the staff was friendly & welcoming & they had a private room available for her. So, we felt comfortable moving her there to continue her recovery. We quickly realized they are short staffed & the care isn't what it should be, especially during the night shift. My mom often had to wait 20+ minutes for a nurse to arrive after pushing her button. Also, she was never seen by a doctor during her 5 day stay, The food is really bad too. Even though she was still very ill, she was determined to leave after 5 days. If the care had been better, she would've stayed a lot longer. Instead, she chose to go home & we had to find in home care for her. My message is, don't be fooled by the 5 star impression you get when you visit Arlington Gardens or by the ice cream parlor, which is rarely open. This place has a lot of potential & hopefully will improve, but currently only deserves 2 stars as a care facility.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I was in Arlington Gardens Care Center right after my stroke. The people there were great and very attentive. I would recommend it to anybody. When I was there, I had physical therapy every day, and it was very good. What impressed me most was the staff.

Arlington Gardens was a nice place. It was clean and neat, and always smell really good. It was a very good place to send somebody. They have an ice cream shop. The staff was responsive and caring. The rooms were spotless.

My mom was given the very best care and attention that I could possibly want for her. As a retired director of activities for senior communities this is the nicest one I have be to. Over the past 10 years my mother has been in 4 rehabilitation facilities this is the only one I would recommend. Special thanks to Ida for her kindness and caring heart, mom's favorite.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Because of insurance, my dad went over to Arlington Gardens. They're trying to be overfriendly, but it was a little overwhelming. The night nurses weren't doing their job. We would press the button if my dad needed assistance, and we would wait for 30 minutes. Sometimes, they won't even show up. We didn't have a good experience there. I would never put my dad back there. They were so unprofessional. When we got discharged, I had given the discharge nurse all the information about my dad's prescription. I received it a week later. I kept calling them, and they kept transferring me until I got very upset. When we got there, we had left my dad's belongings, and they misplaced it. If you go in there, there's so much action. It's like a bunch of young kids. It's not an environment for rehabilitation. The beds were not suitable for stroke victims. My dad had a neighbor, and he fell three times. It's like a regular bed, and they can easily get out and fall. They had bingo and all the activities for the patients. They should improve on their level of service. It's a rehab center, but you could hear them laughing and cracking up. They have respite care, but I would never take my dad there. I would not trust them with my dad. They're overdoing their customer service and not acknowledging their professionalism when it comes to their care.

I didn't like the way that they treated the seniors at Arlington Gardens. They didn’t treat my father right. He had to go to the bathroom because he can't walk right now, he had to use the bathroom, and it was more than 20 minutes for somebody to go help him. He had just gone, and 10 minutes later, he wanted to go again, so the nurse or whatever went in there and said, "Again," and was really rude. They would forget to give his medicines as he needed them. My dad liked the food, and the room was good; it was comfortable. They had bingo and therapy -- nothing big. It was a very nice place, but they just neglect their patients. I was there, and I just heard this lady crying out for help, but I didn't see anybody go and help her. It is nice place to go visit, but not to put a loved one.

My mother-in-law was at Arlington Gardens, and she was very happy with the physical therapy department. She was 88, and she was down for 3 months. When she left the hospital, the doctor said she wouldn't be able to walk, and when she went to Arlington Gardens she could hardly sit up, but within a week, she was standing and walking. The staff was very nice, friendly, and courteous. The physical therapists were all knowledgeable. They really cared about her safety. They were really good. When you went and signed in with the check in people, they had lemonade and tea right there at the front door. They did a lot of games, and they made it fun. The rooms were really nice, and the food was really good. It was a very clean and well-kept facility. It is a very nice and cute facility.
