"The best one in the whole wide world is Cornerstone Hospice. They were excellent. A minister comes out, and they help you, they follow-up for a year after the person passes away to see if you are OK. When they knew my husband was passing away, two of the nurses stayed, and they must have been here for fourteen hours. One hundred percent they were caring, they cared about me and the family, and they were wonderful. They were very compassionate, and they checked my husband -- checked his vitals -- all the time, and they try to get him to eat. They did everything that they could possibly do. I couldn't rave about them more. If there was more than a hundred percent, it would be it. "

"I was a client of GSR Hospice, Inc. They were here for my mom's showering and medication. They helped me with the bed for her because her bed was really hard. We switched up that, so we got her a little more comfortable. They would come pretty much when I asked every time I called. So, they were really good. They were always very bubbly. For me, it was a little of a struggle because I'm feeling anxious and they're all, "I'm happy," but it was good. In terms of communication, I'd say that would get more like an A-minus, because there was one time where I couldn't get anybody on the line when it says it's a 24-hour. I couldn't find anyone to ask any questions of. I guess that does happen. Sometimes people will miss the phone or not set it up right or something. The company was really good. I mean, they even got somebody who could do my mom's nails, which was remarkable to me. Her toenails, not as much as she didn't need her fingers done, but her toenails, because she had infections and stuff. Their staff made her feet look beautiful. They were so cute afterwards; it was really great."

"My husband has been placed on hospice through VITAS Healthcare. We have him at home and the care providers and the nurses come here. A lady comes in 3 days a week, she showers and shaves him, brushes his teeth, and grooms him. A nurse comes in once a week and does his vitals and adjustment if necessary. They're great and understanding, and they work very well with him because he's at a stage where he is agitated and angry with the people that he doesn't know. They're very patient with him. We're very satisfied."

"From the minute the door opens at Hillsong Senior Living, there's a big sign that says 'Welcome' and there's a ramp for wheelchairs as you're walking in. Then when you come in, it's open. You see a big kitchen that is very clean, modern, and up to date, and the owner has solar panels so that my cousin has air conditioning that is always at the proper temperature. Nobody is sweating or uncomfortable. There's a nice living room and then windows that look out onto a covered patio that had furniture and grass. So, it was pretty to look out on. There were several huge leather chairs that recline and a big television too. My cousin is there for hospice care. Her room is large, she is in a hospital bed, and there's a bathroom that was adjacent to her. All questions that we had to ask were answered by the owner who was there the whole time, Carina. We saw her move my cousin correctly so she doesn't get bedsores. And just her whole attitude was caring and kind. We could hear people talking low, but there were no outbursts or anything. It was peaceful and very clean. She walked us through the kitchen, the living room, and into the backyard. Her husband is a firefighter and I think he also helps keep the place nice. It was very homelike and very welcoming. They prepare the food and they do ask about their dislikes or if somebody is allergic to something. So, it didn't look like they just threw some packaged stuff at them. They had all kinds of activities that would be appropriate if you were still able to do that. She said that relatives or friends are welcome any time. You didn't have to call and say, "We're going to be here between this hour and this hour." Carina said "We are transparent and the families are welcome." That to me said they're not worried about cleanliness, et cetera, because they have it under control."

"We have been using Companion Home Health for six weeks now. My husband's primary care doctor chose them for us. The caregivers seem very professional. They come when they say they're going to come. The physical therapy has helped the most. My husband is at least able to get up and down out of chair and bed by himself more. He is walking with his walker longer distances. The nurse comes and takes his blood pressure and temperature and checks his diabetes. They make sure that his diabetes is under controll. Every two months, a podiatrist comes up for his diabetic feet. At one time, my husband woke up one morning, and his right arm was swollen and he could hardly move it. I called them, and they sent a nurse within a couple of hours. So I was happy that they could come and I didn't to have to pack him up and take him to a doctor or emergency room. Also, they are working with Medicare and the supplemental insurance, and they don't bother us with financial things at all. I like that too. "

"My mother has hospice at home from Goldberg Hospice Care. The hospital recommended that she needed to be in hospice, and that's how we end up having the service that we have at this time. They're there 24 hours for us. Even in the middle of the night, if I feel like my mother is acting or doing something I'm unfamiliar with, I'll give them a call, and they can have somebody within an hour here. They come and see her every two days, they call me, and they provide me with all her medications and necessities like liners, diapers, and wipes. They are amazing. They're doing everything they can to provide my mother comfort, and they're training me and guiding me with everything that I need to know to be there for her one hundred percent."

"Nova Home Hospice stands out among the rest for its superior care, professionalism, and compassionate attention. Their staff are highly qualified and consistently responsive to every need. They are efficient and they take the time to ensure patients and their families feel individually valued and cared for. My dear father received home health and hospice (HH&H) services on and off for 4 years. If only we had discovered Nova first. The other providers were consistently hurried and sporadic in responsiveness. Our family thought maybe there were just too many HH&H patients in the SoCal region to expect high quality care from such a busy, overworked, underpaid industry. Nova Home Health and Hospice gave us hope again that it IS possible to receive genuine compassion and thorough care for HH&H needs. Our family cannot thank this company enough. From Yvonne the director to Michael the administrator to Eileen the owner - this company knows what they are doing, they do it to the absolute best of their ability, they love helping people, and they demonstrate integrity, honesty, and compassion on a daily basis."

"My mom was getting palliative care with Angels On Earth Hospice. They do palliative care and they do hospice. My mom was on hospice with them. They were great with her. They showered her twice a week. Their nursing is on call 24/7. Medications were sent home. They monitored her medications, they monitored her care, and they checked her vitals. They're very patient with her. They're very communicative. They were very compassionate with my mom. They're a great service for hospice care. We're satisfied. They just came in and provided this service. They did what they had to do."

"My younger sister needed to be cared for when she was dying. We were recommended to try the Claremont Care Center. My sister was a resident at the Care Center for four months. She was not only treated with care for her bodies needs, but with genuine love and respect. I would recommend this facility to anyone in need of specialized care of this kind. "

"My mother availed the services of Care First Hospice. We've had them care for us for about three and a half months. We've got a lot of great care out of them and they tried to work with us. We were quite demanding at times and they did try to take care of what we needed. Well, my mother started on hospice because she had bad pain. So, hospice had to work with us a lot. We had to call them out to replace the catheters, because once we got her catheters, then we were able to give her some type of cocktail to keep her asleep at night. That was a major help to her and to us who were caring for her. You've got a lot of different issues going on with her, she had good days and bad days. They worked with us, and we've developed a relationship with a woman that was the shower lady. She would come three days a week and shower my mom. Then we had the nurse that comes twice a week. We got to know them, and it became a pretty good relationship. She had an appointment trying to find out what was going on with her leg, so we had to get revoked at the hospice to go to this appointment. Down the road, the hospice was trying to do different things trying to lower my mom's pain level, and it made my mom go out of her mind completely. We had to put her in the hospital, so then we got revoked off hospice. After that visit, we ended up putting her on the board and care. The hospice followed us there, but we changed the nurses and that was more difficult. That's when our problem started with them because this new nurse had no idea of where we have come from and how we got there. She started changing some things, which she shouldn't have changed and they started becoming more difficult. When my mom was pulling out the catheter, she couldn't show up for three or five days. That's not going to work. One time they didn't show up for a couple of days, and my mom was awake that whole time, wouldn't go to sleep at night, and fell out of bed. That's why we changed hospices. They said they were 24 hours. If at night, I called, I'm going to have to call an emergency. They couldn't get to me a lot of times until an hour and a half, or two hours. There are times when they can't get to you for five hours. So, if I need somebody in a hurry, I can't wait an hour and a half for people who are too far away from me. That was a real drawback. But I could call them every single day, and they would work with me. One nurse lived very close to my mom, 10 minutes away. But when it wasn't her day to work or she wasn't on call, then they had to send somebody out from out of the area. I don't know much about the billing because we didn't get the bill. We had no problems in this with them in that manner. If we needed something, they would get it and they were always the ones that arrange for transportation for my mother from the hospital to the board and care. I give them a lot of high marks for all their effort and their energy. Sometimes you just have a lot of high expectations, especially when it's your loved one. So, sometimes our demands could have been unrealistic."
