"They had activities. From the outside, it appears to be a good place and the staff was very nice. They had a very nice check-in. No one can just walk through at any time. It's always secure. I met one person there and he was very attentive, professional, friendly, and seemed to care."

"It is a new place. The lady who assisted me was very pleasant, and it looked like a very active community. They were about to do aerobics or Zumba while I was there, and they were running. The outside was dry, and there was nothing there, so it wasn't appealing. "

"My father has lived in the independent living section of AFVW for the past year and a half. And boy do I mean, "LIVED." Dad he should have moved there 10 years ago. However, as a regular visitor, I am also a big fan of my friends who now live in assisted living. Mostly because the people in independent living continue to include them in their activities. Assisted living means just that. Assistance; just as needed. Those in assisted living remain involved in daily life. Separately, was amazed to discover although AFVW has both on-site medical offices for doctor visits....the doctor as well as the x-ray machine, makes house calls! Yes, in the independent living section. Don't feel like going out for medicine? No problem. Medication, just like pizza, is delivered. Last, the people are great and highly involved in the management. This strikes me as the key difference between communities that are run for-profit by professional management teams, and those that are run by non-profits. It strikes me when residents are involved in the executive decision making process, this makes for a better experience. "

"It was a very nice place. It was very pleasant and very friendly. They were very engaged with their residents. They were doing all kinds of activities. They're having music, they were watching TV, and they were playing games with them. The rooms themselves were nice size. They have a whole lot of activities that they do with the residents. "The memory care facility at Hillsong Senior Living in Calimesa was very open and clean. I also liked all the people, including the owner. I got there really early for my tour, and the staff members were very caring and helpful with all the residents while getting them up for breakfast. The food also looked good. I really liked the facility. It was a nice, open area for the people, and they also had a really nice backyard where they could sit, which I liked."

"Cadence at Rancho Cucamonga was a very close second place to the facility we chose. It's a newer facility, but very well kept and appeared to be very nice. We visited Cadence a couple of times and the first time we were there, I was not pleased with the COVID restrictions I received there. The fear that I've had is putting my loved ones in a facility that decides to just run blindfolded into something they don't understand and prevent me from seeing my loved ones. I think that will be getting better, but that was something that we weighed on when we made our overall decision. The rooms were a little tighter than we would have preferred for two people, but they were very nice. The facility itself was very nice as well. The food was very good. We dealt with Terrie, and I was very impressed with her. She was extremely nice, answered all of our questions, and did a phenomenal job. She was great. Their activities and outdoor area were very good. They did not have the swimming pool, but they had everything else that we were interested in. They had a very nice theater room where they could gather and watch movies and things like that. The craft area was nice. They had a schedule laid out with all the activities and things well in advance so they could make plans to be there. We were impressed with Cadence, the staff, the facility, and the food. I think they had the best food we were able to try in any of the facilities we went to."

"We toured A Silver Amore Senior Home. What I liked best was that it was very spacious. It was a relatively modern home. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the residents seemed happy. I liked that it was all female, so my mother would be comfortable with just all women about the same age. They had two rooms that were private rooms and the others were shared rooms. But even in the shared rooms, they had a nice partition, like a hospital, and the partition was up from the ceiling, so you would have your privacy there. And everybody seemed to be happy there, so that's what we liked. I only saw the woman who ran it, a registered nurse, and that was a plus, and then there was another woman there doing the cooking. The structure was very well maintained. The layout was very nice. It was like one grand room; the kitchen, the dining area, the den, and the family room were all in one space. It was very nice, so it would be easy to move back and forth, and a separate room where families could visit more individually. If they came to visit, they could sit on the couch, and there was a little dining table there, too. You can have food or something like that. So, that part was very nice, too."

"My dad is living in Genesis Manor VI. It's a very clean and a beautiful house, and the people are very well-mannered. The dining area is great. It’s a little less expensive than where my dad used to stay."
