"Started in the 1980’s Parkway has been around a long time. It is undergoing some revocation especially the cottages, duplexes and apartments. The redone units look very nice. Food here is excellent with lunch and dinner available on most days. What activities they have are good. Not as many as I would have liked. Bridge and water volleyball are two. The buy in is expensive and the monthly fee is not cheap. You do get meals, security and some transportation to appointments. Do your research before committing. Find out what plans Baptist Health has for the future of Parkway Village."

"Big Screen TV w/free cable, large roll in shower. Staff are very personable/friendly with the residents and their family. They love Bingo and don't want to miss it. They love old movies on the big screen in the Cinema!"

"My mother has decided to move to this facility so I wanted to check it out. Grounds were well kept. I went right to the cafeteria and asked a resident how was her lunch? She replied that the food was always good. A kitchen worker stopped what she was doing and got me someone to tour me. This person answered all my questions and was very personable. You could tell she cared for the residents. I think we have made a good choice. "

"I personally really like College Square Retirement Community and it's not just because my friend lives there. The appearance when you first come in is just lovely. Everybody was friendly, even the people that I talked to that were just sitting around. The food and the service at the table were very excellent. I wasn't even done with my tea, and they were back asking if I needed more. They were working on one area of the dining area and were redoing the wall. For them working there and us eating there too, it was very clean. I like the appearance of their dining room. It's not overly big. I don't think they have as many people there as they have at another community we saw. My girlfriend has a 2-bedroom and a small living room. That was the only thing I didn't like about it, that it has a very small living room. But other than that, they're very nice, and all with handicapped bathrooms. They're also very kept up very nicely."

"So far we were pleased with Southridge Village for my dad and my stepmom. The environment is good, and it is nice and clean. The people are friendly, and they have good food. They have lots of activities. They have music, bingo, and church. The staff is very responsive, and they let me know anytime if there is an issue. "

"I toured Stonehaven Assisted Living. The staff who showed me through were very articulate and courteous. I appreciated her time. The facility that was shown to me seemed to be perfectly adequate. I looked at a couple of rooms, and I thought both were fine. They're small, but they seem to be in good order and would be perfectly functional. You have to bring your own appliances; however, I don't think they would permit a resident to have a microwave or something that might be a hazard. I was impressed with the staff; she was good."

"My aunt lived at The Blake at Chenal Valley, which is on Rahling Road. It's assisted living, and it's new. It is a spectacular place, the food is good, and the rooms are just phenomenal. The facility is just really grand. They have some independent cottages that have two-car garages. They don't have many independent houses, but their assisted living is just huge. It's a big, beautiful building on top of a hill. Their rooms are nice, and it's all brand-new. They have stuff going on all the time for the people who live there. My aunt had cancer, and I know that they would take her to her doctor visits because my cousin lived out of town. She loved living there. She was sick, so she was limited to what she could do, but she loved being around people, so she would play cards and board games every day with people. They treated her very well."

"Crestview Senior Living was beautiful. Everything was brand new. The facilities were clean. It was just stunning, and it was big. The staff was good. They were friendly and accommodating. It just didn't fit our mom's needs. They had a nice physical therapy room that was close to the front door. They had a beautiful dining room that had a huge fireplace in it, as well as a huge flat- screen television. The tables and chairs were brand new. It looked like you were walking into a top restaurant. They also had a bar separate for those who wanted wine or beer or soda after hours or whatever, and they had staff on hand to do that, that was extra, but it was available to all the residents. They had a very large theater with a big movie screen and the seats like in a movie theater would come down, you could put your Coke or your drink there, and they would show really good movies that they thought people would like to see or people could request a particular movie. They had a beautiful outdoor area that had a barbecue pit, and they would encourage family members of the resident to come and partake and grill and have other family members there. They had a little dog section that if the residents chose to bring their animal there, they could walk it out in this little park and it had like a little tube that the dog could run through and stuff, which I thought was pretty cool. They had nice outdoor seating and stuff like that. They had a room and they had a hairstylist there, so you didn't have to leave the premises to get your hair done."

"We've decided to keep my father at Presbyterian Village. What I like best about this place is the staff. They genuinely care about the residents. They truly are a very caring group of individuals - from nurses, to the staff that work in the kitchen, to the people that clean the rooms. They're just really sweet people. I like the activities that they have. I also like the transportation to doctors' visits. I like their communication with family members about what's going on. I really have not found anything that I don't like. The food is good, nutritious, and there are plenty of choices. They have an activities director, they have four to five different activities every day. They have a chapel and a chaplain so you can attend church. They have cottages for those that are more independent. They have laundry services and transportation not only to doctors' visits, but also to grocery stores and outings."

"I saw all the levels of care of Woodland Heights. It was too independent and too high functioning for my mother. The rooms were very homey, very spacious and well laid out. The person who assisted me was pretty occupied though. I didn't observe any activities, too. They had a barber shop, a piano, and a bar."

"I'm here. If you need help whether it's for PT, OT, you need medication help, or you need someone who can take care of you while you're recuperating from an accident or surgery, then this is the place. It is an older building, but they are trying to make it more up-to-date. Like anywhere else, you have good and bad staff, it just depends on how you are with them. If you have a good attitude, then they're gonna reciprocate and respect that. A lot of them respect the residents. I would probably say 98% of them do. They do very well with cleanliness. Housekeeping goes through two, three, or four times a day and they make sure that everything is wiped down. They wax the floors, and they sweep the floors. The tiles are always washed, and the trash is always empty. You don't have trash sitting in the corner. The food is good. A lot of times, they have more than I can eat. They give you good proportions, so it's good all the way around. We have bingo and nailcare for the males and females. We have monthly birthday parties. We have music and dedication or devotions for church service type things. Right now, with the COVID and everything, it's hard for people to come in, so we do our own praise and worship. They have enough staff, but people get sick and they have to go home, so it's nice if you have people that can be on standby. Everything is very well maintained. It's an older building, so it needs improvement in some places. They make sure the residents are engaged. They make sure that you're not just sitting around twiddling and in the bed all the time. They make sure they get you up and be interactive. If you have a loved one that needs a place to have care, I would recommend The Blossoms at Cumberland. The staff that they have here do care about their residents. If you have a need, they do what they can to help provide it for you. If they can't, they try and find a way to get it for you or they will solve the problem if you have one."

"I did not feel comfortable at The Greenbriar on Stagecoach. They charged $20 each time to drive people to their doctors or stores. Their pricing was cheap enough, but you get what you pay for; it had a smell to it, and the building looked like it needed some repairs."
