"I toured Vitality Living Pleasant Hills. They had several different kinds of living arrangements. They showed all of them to me, and they were very clean. They were very hospitable, and the landscape was great. They were just more than welcoming. The apartment is very spacious and very clean. They had amenities that I appreciated, and the closet space was ample. They also had outside balconies, which I enjoyed. They gave me a range of apartments to look at. They had a courtyard area. They have a covered outside area, and a common area besides the dining room."

"We visited Parkway Village and toured for independent living for my parents. They are on their waiting list. We liked it because they have all levels of living. They have big homes, about 2,500 square feet, with garages. They also have villas that have a one-car carport, a place big enough for a golf cart, and a car. My parents like that they would have the independence of having a bigger home and not feel like they have to downsize so much. They would still have a nice place to live, and they can go in and do upgrades to the place, so it kind of feels like you can customize your home there. There is also a security guard as you come onto the property, so nobody can just come onto the property without being checked in by a security guard. There are different levels of care there, so if my parents ever need to have assisted living, they can go to an apartment-type thing. If they ever need any memory care, there's an Alzheimer's place there, too. They have every level of care that my parents can have as they're needed, but they can start in their own home and just have that freedom and independent living that they're used to right now. There's medical care on the premises, too, so they wouldn't have to go to a doctor if they got sick. If they had to walk up with a cold, for instance, there's somebody on the premises for that. They have shuttles to the local grocery stores. They also have bank days, and if you need to go sometime during the week, you can also just call somebody and they'll come take you to the bank. They have a community garden for those who like to garden, where everybody can plant stuff and grow their own food. The day we were there, there was a concert in the middle of the day that my dad loved, so they could have entertainment there. A lot of people were driving their little golf carts around, and my dad kind of liked that community feel. They could go visit their friends who live there and not have to get a car out if they didn't want to walk. They could just take a golf cart. The staff could also come pick you up at your house to take you to dinner, if you don't feel like driving. Those were kind of the selling points, plus the place is also close to ours and my sister's house."

"Fox Ridge is clean. The people are knowledgeable and keep me updated on what's going on. I am very happy with them. My wife has been in their memory care for about a month already. Her room has all the furniture in it. It is kept clean every day, and I feel very confident that she's being kept safe there. The dining area is clean too. She is very happy there, and they keep her busy with all kinds of things like walking. I have no problems at all with them."

"I chose Village Park of Conway for my father. I'm there almost every day. I like the location and I like that it's small. They only have 36 residents there. My dad loves the staff. They seem to be caring about their job. He does nothing but rave about the ones that he has. He says the food is great. It's a nice building. The rooms are pretty roomy. I've never seen anything that wasn't clean. The rooms and the bathrooms are a great size. They have large hallways that make it easy for them to get up and down with walkers and wheelchairs."

"I personally really like College Square Retirement Community and it's not just because my friend lives there. The appearance when you first come in is just lovely. Everybody was friendly, even the people that I talked to that were just sitting around. The food and the service at the table were very excellent. I wasn't even done with my tea, and they were back asking if I needed more. They were working on one area of the dining area and were redoing the wall. For them working there and us eating there too, it was very clean. I like the appearance of their dining room. It's not overly big. I don't think they have as many people there as they have at another community we saw. My girlfriend has a 2-bedroom and a small living room. That was the only thing I didn't like about it, that it has a very small living room. But other than that, they're very nice, and all with handicapped bathrooms. They're also very kept up very nicely."

"I chose StoneBridge of Conway for my mother. It's wonderful. I love them. She was private pay and she needed a memory care unit, so they worked with me. I was in a rush to get her placed because the 24-hour care I had with her at home was dwindling. They did very well to work with me in the haste that I needed. Also, my grandmother was placed in that facility as well, and they took excellent care of my grandmom. The facility in general is beautiful. Everything is out in the open. They have a grand piano in the center of their dining room. It's new and very elegant. The memory care unit is open. They have different areas set out with different stations. They have a nursery station, like for baby dolls and nursery setups. They have a dress-up section set up with hats and scarves and an antique vanity looking thing. They have a little library area. They have different little activity stations set up throughout the unit, and it's not cramped. There are lots of room for the ladies to participate if more than one wants to participate. They have a movie area where all the ladies can sit around and watch movies. They have a game area with different therapeutic tactile things to stimulate. They have a pretty big-sized fish aquarium with different pretty big fish in it. They have a reading/writing section set up with the old-timey rotary style phone, where if they want to write letters or whatever, they can do that. My mom loves the food."

"They take care of my mom so well, that I do not have to worry about her. I visit everyday and enjoy our time together. The adminstration and management are top-notch and take their job seriuosly... "

"My mom is at Stonehaven Assisted Living, and she is doing fine out there. We like the fact that the aides and everyone working there are all nice to my mom. Her room is nice. The food is pretty good, too, which she's happy about. She has a small kitchenette that has a refrigerator and a microwave. The staff are friendly. My mom wears a button around her neck, and as soon as she pushes that, someone comes very quickly, so that's always important. They're kind to her. They have activities. They give them a calendar every month. A resident is welcome to attend an activity or not. My mom is slowly starting to do that, so that's good."

"I moved to Christopher Homes of North Little Rock. It's a one-bedroom. They just had a tornado come through here, so they are just finishing remodeling. I think most of them clean up all the debris and construction materials. They do provide activities."

"My aunt lived at The Blake at Chenal Valley, which is on Rahling Road. It's assisted living, and it's new. It is a spectacular place, the food is good, and the rooms are just phenomenal. The facility is just really grand. They have some independent cottages that have two-car garages. They don't have many independent houses, but their assisted living is just huge. It's a big, beautiful building on top of a hill. Their rooms are nice, and it's all brand-new. They have stuff going on all the time for the people who live there. My aunt had cancer, and I know that they would take her to her doctor visits because my cousin lived out of town. She loved living there. She was sick, so she was limited to what she could do, but she loved being around people, so she would play cards and board games every day with people. They treated her very well."

"Crestview Senior Living was beautiful. Everything was brand new. The facilities were clean. It was just stunning, and it was big. The staff was good. They were friendly and accommodating. It just didn't fit our mom's needs. They had a nice physical therapy room that was close to the front door. They had a beautiful dining room that had a huge fireplace in it, as well as a huge flat- screen television. The tables and chairs were brand new. It looked like you were walking into a top restaurant. They also had a bar separate for those who wanted wine or beer or soda after hours or whatever, and they had staff on hand to do that, that was extra, but it was available to all the residents. They had a very large theater with a big movie screen and the seats like in a movie theater would come down, you could put your Coke or your drink there, and they would show really good movies that they thought people would like to see or people could request a particular movie. They had a beautiful outdoor area that had a barbecue pit, and they would encourage family members of the resident to come and partake and grill and have other family members there. They had a little dog section that if the residents chose to bring their animal there, they could walk it out in this little park and it had like a little tube that the dog could run through and stuff, which I thought was pretty cool. They had nice outdoor seating and stuff like that. They had a room and they had a hairstylist there, so you didn't have to leave the premises to get your hair done."
