"I like Ridgemere. It's a nice community. I like the looks of it. The actual unit that my sister will be living in is very nice, too. It was very well located in Conway. It's very clean and secure. The only person we've met is Brandy. She showed us the unit and everything, and she's top-notch."

"I moved into the Retirement Center of Arkansas. It's great, it's one house, I like it, they take care of all my needs, and they treat me good. The employees are great, I get along with them good. I'm in a private room right now because I'm in quarantine. It's an older place, but it's kept up really well. I get three meals a day, and the food is good, it's a good variety."

"My aunt lived at The Blake at Chenal Valley, which is on Rahling Road. It's assisted living, and it's new. It is a spectacular place, the food is good, and the rooms are just phenomenal. The facility is just really grand. They have some independent cottages that have two-car garages. They don't have many independent houses, but their assisted living is just huge. It's a big, beautiful building on top of a hill. Their rooms are nice, and it's all brand-new. They have stuff going on all the time for the people who live there. My aunt had cancer, and I know that they would take her to her doctor visits because my cousin lived out of town. She loved living there. She was sick, so she was limited to what she could do, but she loved being around people, so she would play cards and board games every day with people. They treated her very well."

"This is a wonderful facility, which I would go to visit my great-grandmother many times for visits. There is plenty of parking and the landscaping is really nice. Next, the inside of the building is fully secured. There is always a security staff member that works up front. The building is really nice with an antique look. The staff members are really nice. My great-grandmother lived on the 12th floor in a nice studio type of apartment. She had a kitchen, restroom, small living room area and area for her bedroom and other furniture. I was so impressed of how nice this elderly facility was. She was very independent, so she would cook for herself and clean her own room. And if she needed assistance you could ask someone for help by contacting the front desk. I think the great thing about the facility is that the rooms had smoke detectors, which was good because sometimes she would forget that she left something on the stove. Also, we would have family gatherings in the down stair banquet area. This area could be used at anytime you like. And there would be many activities held down stairs as well. I really impressed with this facility. "

"Parkstone Place was a nice community. The room I saw was very nice. They have pull-cords for emergencies, and they're spacious and nice. Their dining room was nice, they have a library, and they have activities. I met the activities director but didn't see them doing any activities. They also have a beauty shop and transportation for the residents. The staff member who gave me the tour was helpful, nice, personable, and very accommodating. It's a very clean place."

"I saw all the levels of care of Woodland Heights. It was too independent and too high functioning for my mother. The rooms were very homey, very spacious and well laid out. The person who assisted me was pretty occupied though. I didn't observe any activities, too. They had a barber shop, a piano, and a bar."

"When we did a tour of Good Shepherd Retirement Community, they had 105 cottages, but none of them were empty. We weren't able to look at the inside of the cottage. They did give us a schematic of the one- and two-bedroom facilities. The outside of the facilities and the ground maintenance were nice. They're all 1-story, it was nice. They said the waiting period for an opening was probably about two years for one of their cottages to be available. They said it was less of the time for a 2-bedroom. I think we were going to look at a two-bedroom for my brother. That fits our schedule. They had five separate buildings for different stages of need, and the less need was the independent cottages. They were separate, and in different parts of the campus. They are located on about two hundred acres of grounds and wooded area. The cottages had their own horseshoe circle of cottages and they backed into a little forested area. It was a very pleasant scenery on the outside. It was sort of a self-guided tour. My brother, my sister, and I walked into the facility, which was a regular 5- or 6-story brick facility. It looked fine, but that's not what we were looking for. That's where the dining facility was. We were able to walk through the dining facilities, and it was an older building, but it was clean. I met the assistant administrator for the cottages. She was very good. She gave us all the applications and answered the questions that we had; She's awesome. For the cottages, you can either sign up for a meal plan or you could not because the cottages have a small kitchenette. I would rate the cottages a five, and I would give these other buildings probably a four. I didn't go into them other than the main building, the 5- or 6- story brick building. It was because it was an older facility that I give it a four instead of a five. We walked through the hallways to get to the dining room, and people were pleasant there. But it wasn't as open and airy as the cottage areas or so. I think we probably settled on the Good Shepherd. It's okay where he now lives, and the cottages are where we would want him to be rather than into a building where he has a hallway to walk down. Even though with independent living, he prefers a cottage style."

"My father stayed in this facility for a few weeks, until he found a better facility to live in. I did visit the facility on many occasions because I had to take my father to pay bills or go shopping. Therefore, I only seen the outside of the building on many occasions. The landscaping was nice and the area was very shady. On one particular day my dad told me to come inside and I went inside and the apartment definitely needed some updated. The bathroom was in very bad condition. And my father told me that when he needed something fixed nothing would take days. After all, he told me he was going to be moving soon, so I was excited because my dad had some health problems and needed to be staying in an assisted living environment that was up to code and that provided emergency help if needed. This facility was more of a really old outdated hotel. I didn't see any staff members on my visit, but my dad mentioned they were nice, but he was just not impressed with the services that was provided. "
