"My friend is at Germantown Plantation Senior Living Community. It's good and very nice. She has a one-bedroom apartment. It's very spacious, it has a patio, and she's happy with it. She can come and go as she wants. They have a lot of activities. People even come in and entertain. They have group things even at night where they will have a special. They have movies almost every night. They have a movie theater, which is comfortable. They have an indoor swimming pool, too. And they have good dining rooms. The food is very good. She loves it out there. She is getting to meet people a lot better than she did before. The place is very clean. There may be a small price for laundry, but housekeeping is included in the rent. And they give out her medication for a small extra fee, which is fine with me. The staff is very good. If my friend has an accident or anything, they come right away. I brought her home the other day and she didn't feel good. I got hold of a nurse, she came quickly and she took care of her. It is very, very good. They have their own doctor on staff. If she has any problems, that doctor would take care of it. If she needs blood work or if she needs an x-ray or something, they can do it there instead of going out someplace."

"I was very much impressed with Heritage at Irene Woods. I thought it was very accommodating. I like the layout. I like the roominess of the rooms. The people were very, very friendly. In fact, I ended up staying there about five hours and participated in their happy hour. The people working there were excellent. The facility itself was excellent."

"I toured Sycamore Ridge Gracious Retirement Living. We pretty much like everything about it. We had a pretty good trip through the place. The girl who helped us was really nice and knowledgeable They have a refrigerator and a microwave in the apartment. They don't have a full stove or a full kitchen. You could have a toaster oven if you wanted to bring one, but that's about it. They have three meals, so you don't really need all that unless you want to fix a snack or something for yourself. They have an exercise room and a beauty salon. They have activities, a bus that takes you shopping and to doctors' appointments. We had lunch there, and it was good. The place is in good condition. It is just a year old, and that's perfect."

"My wife and I are residents of StoryPoint Collierville. I'm a very picky person about eating and the food here is very good. You have many choices. You have two entrees to choose from every night and four sides. You can start with a salad and if what they present is not what you would like, they have six other choices on the menu every day, like hamburgers, bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich, a super salad that has boiled eggs in it and everything else. If you can't find something to eat, you are in a bad situation. The other residents here are all very welcoming and very nice. The main reason we moved here is my son just built his forever home and it's about six miles from us. We've gone to their church and we have a church service here. We have a minister and his wife that live here. There are activities every day. We have bingo twice a week and we have an activity room on the second floor that's large enough to get the entire building in it. We have movies and one lady is occupying a corner because she's got a three-thousand-piece puzzle she's putting together. We've got a poker group that plays poker every Tuesday night. We had a marine group come here on Memorial Day and do a ceremony for us. They spoke to the group and they also did a flag folding ceremony. We have a two-bedroom apartment. My wife is on a walker and all the doctor's offices that we are going to are very close by. If you don't have a car, they have a bus that will take you on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to doctor's appointments. This Wednesday, the men are going out to lunch together. We're gonna take the bus away from the ladies. I'm very happy here and I plan to stay here until the end. I'd give them the top rating in all respects. The staff is wonderful. The food is outstanding. It's not cheap, but it's not super expensive. We had looked at one close to our home and it would have cost us almost $2000 a month more and you weren't getting anything anymore that I see. It is very comfortable. You've got control of your heating and air-conditioning in your own apartment. We opted for an apartment with a washer and dryer built-in. There's a room at the end of the hallway and it's got three almost brand new GE front loaders washers and front loader dryers. We also have two storage rooms on our floor that you can put anything that you don't want to keep in your apartment. You just provide your own padlock. We have two bedrooms, two baths, a living room and a full kitchen. It's very convenient and we're on the third floor, so we have a balcony. My wife has a lot of her plants out there. It's a nice place to sit and get fresh air and the morning sun comes right across it. We also have a facility for her to do morning exercises and we have a therapist here and we also have a therapist that our doctor has recommended that comes in and do more strenuous or doctor-directed activities, so she doesn't have to go out anywhere. They have activities and groups come in at least twice a week. We've had several orchestra bands that play music of our times as well as current music and residents get up and dance. I haven't heard any bad things since we've been here. There's a pull cord right next to where the head of the bed is in both bedrooms and in both of the bathrooms and we wear a necklace with a button on it while we're here and they encourage us to take it with us when we go off the site because it will register anywhere you may be. I am falling in love with this place. It's everything you need. I'm not having to cut grass or trim shrubbery. They come and clean every other Wednesday."

"Embassy Apartments was really nice. It was a gated senior's apartment, so it was pretty secure since they also watch out for each other. The lady who showed me around was polite. She showed me both their one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. The one-bedroom was small and did not have enough closet space. They had a laundry room, TV room, and receiving room. I saw the dining area where they could have functions and the pool."

"Opus East Memphis was very expensive, but it's a very nice place. My godmother was in there. The staff was very helpful. They had very good food. Her room was beautiful. She had a living room, a kitchen, and a bedroom. It was very well kept always. They always had something to do. They had bingo and birthday parties. They celebrate all the holidays with activities."

"My mother law lives in this facility, and it is centralized located within a great radius of my home. This facility is very well maintained and offers great independence to seniors that only need limited assistance with their daily activities. It sports a home like environment and the staff is very efficient and supportive. There are plenty of personal amenities as well as a host of daily actives. My mother law states that it's the next best place to being home. The staff exhibits great concern for the residents keeps the family updated on all health issues. "

"I moved to Luther Towers, and so far, it's been fine. I like the people and the management; they've been good to me. I don’t have any problems with my apartment. They have activities, but I haven’t yet attended to any of them. The staff is friendly and helpful as well as the other residents. The place is cleaned every day. "

"Trezevant Manor was very well maintained, and the patients there were very well taken care of. You had to have a lot of finances to get in, but for the most part, it was very beautiful. They had amenities like a gym, an exercise room, and a pool, and they had several things on the ground to make the patients' busy. However, I would say if there was any way possible to make it a little bit more affordable for people that had average income instead of high income. I thought this particular retirement home was for people with a three-digit salary. I thought if they would reviewed the average of retirement people and their income and made it somewhat affordable to them, it would be a big help for people who really wanted to go into those types of places. "I'm at Avenida Watermarq at Germantown. It's 55 and older adult living. I like the security. The staff is courteous and helpful. I cook my own meals. It's clean. The structure is OK. They send us a monthly list of different classes, fitness classes, and games. They have a lot of different activities. I have a one-bedroom regular-sized apartment."

"I found Feels Like Home. It used to be Franklin Park but it's now on new ownership, and the name of it is Feels Like Home. The staff is very amenable and friendly. I haven't been there for the meal. They're still in the process of renovating it, but they have renovated it very well. They have a very large dining room, and there's a chapel. They have everything with the exception of a pool. They don't have a swimming pool but that's OK for me because I'm in a wheelchair anyway. I like all of it. The dining room, and the chapel are impressive. The rooms on the first floor may or may not have a patio. Upstairs on the second floor, they have patios, too. The living atmosphere seems to be open and nice. The dining area is clean, open and very nice, too. They have transportation to doctor's appointments and housekeeping. It's more affordable, too."

"Kirby Pines is a unique place to live! The community is on 60 acres of pristine grounds, complete with a lake, greenhouse with garden plots, a walking trail through woods, gazebo for events, with a welcoming entrance lobby which has been recently redecorated. The activities are too numerous to list, but include musical programs, Mahjongg, bridge and other games, water aerobics, all kinds of painting and crafts, pool, ballroom dancing classes, vespers and religious services. All levels of medical care are available, from independent resident apartments or garden homes, to assisted living, to memory care, and beyond. Dedicated and caring staff throughout. There’s a movie theatre, a fully staffed woodworking shop, Performing Arts Center that holds several hundred people, pool room, crafts room, public puzzle table, concession shop, exercise classes, choir. Daily food selections are outstanding and include elaborate holiday celebrations coordinated by our chef and kitchen. BUT, the people who live here create the heart! "Bellevue Woods is just around the corner from me, and I know several people who live there who like it, so that's why I chose it. They were very friendly, and they showed me around. I saw what one of the apartments looked like. They have a pool and a room where everybody can gather around and do things. It is clean and nice. There are places to walk around in. The staff who gave the tour was very nice."
