I am living in Shelby Station's independent living community. I chose it because I live in an apartment of my own, and not in a building with a lot more people. My apartment is quaint and nice. It's roomy enough for one person. The facilities are clean, and there are no pests. It's nicely painted and has a nice bathroom. It also has a big pantry. I provide and cook my own meals. The coordinator sends out papers weekly about each activity that is going to happen. Like tomorrow, we're getting our vision checked, and we don't need to worry about going anywhere to do that, because they come here to do it, which is good. They also have a food bank that comes here, and that's another good thing. The place is clean, and they keep the grounds nice. The staff is very helpful. They make sure that you don't need anything. If you need anything from maintenance, I might call them at 3, and no later than 3:10, they're here doing whatever I called them for. My apartment was also really clean when I moved in. It's worth what I pay, because I don't have to pay utility charges.
