"Of all the facilities we saw, Heritage at Irene Woods ended up by far being the best. For facilities, amenities, activities, and the pricing were all very good. The apartments in the assisted living area were really nice. They were better than all of the facilities we saw. They fed us there. The thing they had that others didn't have was that they have apartments for people coming to visit. If we're going down to Memphis to visit mom, we could actually stay there which was really nice. Then you can eat with them and really see what's going on. None of the other places even mentioned something like that."

"I'm currently at Sycamore Ridge Gracious Retirement Living. The people here are wonderful. It's just a really close community. We all care about each other. We enjoy being around each other. The facility has a very nice layout. It's very nice. The rooms are adequate. I'm in a studio, and I'm very happy. They have one- and two-bedrooms. You just pick what you can afford, mainly, and then you fix it up as you can. It's very clean. Overall, it is a very nice place to be. They have a library, a physical therapy room, a dining room, a common area, and an activity room. We have wonderful staff. They're very caring and very friendly. The staff here is great. The food is getting better. We have a new chef starting on Sunday. There was a time when it was not very good, but it has since gotten better, and hopefully, better things are even to come. For activities, we have outings, bingo, all sorts of games, music, people come in with concerts, and social activities. I think all these places are overpriced. A lot of us are on disability and just have social security, and it can be a little steep. I don't have a lot of good to say about the prices because I just think they're just a little bit steep. I have been here for a year now."

"The facilities are beautiful! It is a comfort to have Mom living amongst her own things and all the amenities a new residence has to offer. However, the most exciting thing for us is how loving and caring the staff is. They focus on the residents, giving many opportunities to be active and have fun doing it. It’s a joy to see Mom busy with people she enjoys being with. "

"Embassy Apartments was really nice. It was a gated senior's apartment, so it was pretty secure since they also watch out for each other. The lady who showed me around was polite. She showed me both their one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. The one-bedroom was small and did not have enough closet space. They had a laundry room, TV room, and receiving room. I saw the dining area where they could have functions and the pool."

"My mother law lives in this facility, and it is centralized located within a great radius of my home. This facility is very well maintained and offers great independence to seniors that only need limited assistance with their daily activities. It sports a home like environment and the staff is very efficient and supportive. There are plenty of personal amenities as well as a host of daily actives. My mother law states that it's the next best place to being home. The staff exhibits great concern for the residents keeps the family updated on all health issues. "

"I moved to Luther Towers, and so far, it's been fine. I like the people and the management; they've been good to me. I don’t have any problems with my apartment. They have activities, but I haven’t yet attended to any of them. The staff is friendly and helpful as well as the other residents. The place is cleaned every day. "

She had a living room, a kitchen, and a bedroom. It was very well kept always. They always had something to do. They had bingo and birthday parties. They celebrate all the holidays with activities."

"Trezevant Manor was good. But for some reason -- I didn't understand why -- they're without an administrator. The staff said that the position had been vacant for a while. The staff in general knew their jobs. Their apartments and closets were very small, and one of the tour guides didn't seem to know her job. The residents were well provided for, with things like woodworking, exercise, pool, and trips to Walgreens, Walmart, doctors' appointments, and things that you needed. It's located in a community where you're around a lot of stores if you want to go."

"We chose The Parkview for Mom because of the location. It's really good. The staff members seem caring and lovely. Her room is amazing. It's a 1,500 square foot, two-bedroom, corner unit. They've got activities every day. It's independent living, but we have a caregiver coming every day to help her. She has three meals a day, and it's great."

"When I went into St. Peter Manor, everybody seems to be really polite. The facility was clean. The staff I talked to was very cool and very helpful."

"It was $300 a month more than where my mother was, but we're very happy that she is at The Glenmary at Evergreen. She has made some friends, and it's a pleasant place to be. They have a lot of activities, but she doesn't like to do them. She doesn't want to go on bus tours or to the stores. The only one she participates in is bingo. I've been there for lunch and dinner. She complains about the food, but I thought it was good. They serve three meals a day. The only complaint I have is that it's a high rise, and most of their activity rooms are in the basement; a lot of the older people complain about it being a little chilly in the basement. "

"Feels Like Home was a lot roomier, had nicer accommodation, and was a better price than other places. I liked it a lot, and it was recommended by someone who was in another facility. The service was good, and the staff was very friendly and compassionate. It was clean. They had studios and two-bedroom rooms. A studio was only $1,800. "

"Kirby Pines is a unique place to live! The community is on 60 acres of pristine grounds, complete with a lake, greenhouse with garden plots, a walking trail through woods, gazebo for events, with a welcoming entrance lobby which has been recently redecorated. The activities are too numerous to list, but include musical programs, Mahjongg, bridge and other games, water aerobics, all kinds of painting and crafts, pool, ballroom dancing classes, vespers and religious services. All levels of medical care are available, from independent resident apartments or garden homes, to assisted living, to memory care, and beyond. Dedicated and caring staff throughout. There’s a movie theatre, a fully staffed woodworking shop, Performing Arts Center that holds several hundred people, pool room, crafts room, public puzzle table, concession shop, exercise classes, choir. Daily food selections are outstanding and include elaborate holiday celebrations coordinated by our chef and kitchen. BUT, the people who live here create the heart!
