Collierville is a fast-growing Memphis suburb with a little over 51,000 residents. Of its residents, about 15% are aged 65 and over, which is relatively modest compared to state and national averages. Even so, the city is a great option for older adults who want to remain in their own homes throughout retirement. It has low property and violent crime rates, which may appeal to those who live alone, and it’s home to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville, promoting access to quality medical care. Home care, which includes non-medical care, costs an estimated $4,242 per month. Home health care is a little costlier and may be better suited for those who need skilled nursing services.
Below we’ve compiled a comprehensive directory of every home care provider in the Collierville area – complete with services offered and reviews from families who’ve actually used the service. In addition to our in-depth provider listings, we’ve compiled resources to help seniors and their families to access all the tools they need to age in place safely and gracefully.

We previously used the services of All Tennessee Care Givers. It was quite an awakening because we never had home care before. The staff and the manager, Nancy, are exceptional. Sometimes, they have a little bit of turnover as far as caregiver goes. I would have loved to have one that will work out great and might have stayed for years. But it seemed like there was a lot of turnovers in the actual caregivers that came to the house, and that was a little disappointment to me. But everything else, I highly recommend them. In the beginning, they provided caregiving about four hours a day, 3-4 times a week. And then the last two months we had 24/7 care. You have a caregiver 3-4 weeks, your parents get used to them, and then it had to change for whatever reason. And that is a downside of in-home caregiving; you are not able to keep a consistent caregiver. Some were excellent, and some not as much. Billing is a breeze. The manger gave me her private cellphone number and every time I need to do anything, I could either call her or text her. She is reachable 24/7. Some of the larger companies did not want to give me any time; they did not want to talk to me. I called Nancy Barber who is the manager of All Tennessee Care Givers, told her I had this questionnaire, and she said, "Can we set a time to talk?" and I said yes. She called me and we talked for an hour and a half and she answered absolutely every question that I had. She did not rush me; she gave me so much of her private time to help me make an informed decision.

Financial Assistance for Home Care in Collierville, TN
Given the high cost of in-home care, many people use one or more forms of financial assistance to cover the expenses. Below, we explain some of the most common sources of financial help for paying for in-home care. If none of these options are available to you, you can reach out to your Area Agency on Aging or Aging and Disability Resource Center to learn about local resources.
- Long-Term Care Insurance: Long-Term Care Insurance covers expenses related to senior care, including in-home care. Depending on the policy type, beneficiaries may receive a cash payment to use towards long-term care or reimbursement for qualifying long-term care expenses. Note that there are limitations- typically a maximum benefit of $150 per day- and exact coverage terms vary depending on the exact policy, so always check the details.
- Medicare: Medicare does not cover in-home care because it is classified as custodial, or non-medical, care. However, some Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans, which offer expanded benefits, may cover in-home custodial care.
- Medicaid: Medicaid coverage of in-home care varies between different states because it is not a federally mandated benefit. Currently, all states cover some in-home care either through their standard Medicaid or a waiver program. The specific coverage rules are set individually by each state.
- Veterans’ Benefits: The Aid and Attendance benefit is a monthly cash payment that beneficiaries can use to pay for senior care, including in-home care services. To qualify for A&A, Veterans must already receive the VA pension and meet several additional requirements, including needing assistance with the activities of daily living.Contact the Department of Veterans Affairs to learn more.
- Reverse Mortgages: Home Equity Conversion Mortgages (HECMs) are federally insured loans that are available to homeowners age 62 and over. Reverse mortgages allow you to access a portion of your home’s equity in cash, tax free. Many seniors use reverse mortgages to finance their care expenses, including in-home care. Note that although there are no monthly payments due on reverse mortgage loans, borrowers do have to repay the loan once the last surviving homeowner passes away, moves, or sells the home.
