"We started using Home Helpers - Mountain Home, AR last July and we just ended services with them. They were great. The aide they sent to our house was fantastic. I give her 11/10. The issue is we are up in the mountains and there's not a lot of population up here, so they're quite a distance from us. The aide they had coming here drove an hour each way to get here to work a seven-hour shift, but she was fabulous. They got somebody right out here as soon as I needed them. She was here every time she was supposed to be here on time, very caring, and very engaged. She always wore scrubs. They require her to use gloves when she handles the client, which she always did. They were fabulous. My husband is in a wheelchair. She did transfers, transferring him from his chair to his wheelchair, getting him to and back from the bathroom, helping with bathroom needs, getting him in and out of the shower, and showering him. I did not require her to do any housework, but she was always ready, willing, and able to do any kind of housework. Value for money was good. They do something that's a little weird. Before we started services, they estimated how much my weekly rate was going to be, and they had me pay two weeks in advance as a deposit, so when I gave two-week notice that we would be ending service, I thought they wouldn't bill me for those last two weeks, but they did. I called their billing office and they said they will refund it in another week. I had more exposure with the aide on a daily basis. The only real interaction I had with the agency was right before my husband left the hospital. They sent a representative to the hospital to talk to us about services and charges and costs and all that. I've called a couple of times on the phone and spoke with the people in the office, and I've always gotten a very quick, accurate response. The interaction with the staff was great."
