"My wife was at Glendale Gardens Nursing & Rehab. The people there were nice. They were good. The food was OK. The facility was fairly clean. It could have been a little bit better, but I think they were a little short-staffed. My wife wasn't there very long but I know they played some bingo. The atmosphere was good. The rooms were small and cramped. Their dining area was really nice, clean, and well-organized."

"My grandmother went to James River Nursing and Rehabilitation for rehab. They were good. The staff helped me out because my grandma did not want to go to assisted living, and the staff and I stressed to her that she was not safe to go home alone, so they helped out a lot. It seemed clean and tidy. A few times while I was there, one of the housekeepers came in to sweep her room while I was there visiting. So I think they kept up with the housekeeping and they kept it nice. I know that they had bingo and they did like a salon day, like they did their nails and stuff there. I don't know much more though cause my grandma didn't participate in it while she was there. My grandma liked the food. She commented about how it was nice to have such a different variety of food. So I think that they kept it changed pretty well and didn't give the same food too often."

"I was always that person who said, "I'll never go to a nursing home." But a short term stay at Jordon Creek Nursing & Rehab I just might change my mind. I especially liked the staff on my wing. They were genuine and "real people" who looked at me as a person and not just another patient. The warm touch was always there and I appreciated it. I didn't have a moment's difficulty with anybody. The rest of the residents were friendly and their personalities showed. It was so much more like a community than I thought it would be. Now I don't fear a nursing home future like I once did."

"My mom was at The Manor at Elfindale. The staff were excellent. My mom had been there before when she had a bleeding ulcer episode, and she went to rehab. We were familiar with the facility. It's a little bit expensive, but the facility is kept up and well maintained. Where my mother's room was, we got to see some deer running through the fields and see some Canadian geese. It was enjoyable for her to look out the window. The staff seemed to genuinely care, not only for the patient but also for the family member. Especially if they knew that the patient is in hospice care, they didn't enforce 'visiting hours.' They let us stay there as long as we need to be there with our loved ones. I know there were activities available, but my mom did not participate, and she wasn't capable of doing that. It's all on one level. It's designed to feel like you're not closed in the city. It was a little expensive, but it was worth it for the price. The facility was nice. The room looked like it could be a home away from home."

"After a two week stay in the Hospital, my father came to ManorCare for rehab. He was a resident for 3 weeks. The MedBridge facility, staff and accommodations were great. Their PT, activities and the socialization of the fellow residents helped Dad recover and go home quicker than expected. We will pick ManorCare again if needed."

"My dad was a resident of Spring Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center. The facilities themselves looked decent and good. He just didn't have enough room to walk around in, and he's a person that can't sit around. At first, he was seeking to find a way out. He didn't have anywhere to go, and it got him frustrated. That's where he got a little bit frustrated and was getting a little bit pushing and things like that. That was the first place we tried, and it didn't work out. They said at first if he got back from the hospital and his meds were taken care of, that he could get back there. But apparently, they couldn't handle him. That wouldn't have been a good place for him anyway; but he's never had any issues, where he's at now. I think they had activities as well there, but as far as their memory care, they just had a very limited area or space. The rooms were nice, and they seem to be fairly clean. I didn't see any issues there. It was just mainly that the memory care was locked down because you can't just let them walk freely, but they didn't have any space or area much to wander. He just moved in there that morning, on that day. He got a little bit frustrated and aggravated; he was pushing a little bit and trying to go in other rooms, trying to get out. He was already kind of confused, to begin with, that morning when we were trying to get him in the facility. It just started a snowball effect, and then he eventually had to be taken by the ambulance back to the hospital. It didn't work out well at all, and they told me that if he and his medication got leveled off, that he would be able to go back, but they refused him. After that, unfortunately, we couldn't find anywhere, because it was in his hospital records, that incident there. I rate it that because, if they couldn't handle him, they should be able to know what to do when these circumstances come. That's what memory care is, it deals even with the worst situations; and they didn't seem to be able to deal with that situation. The director seemed nice, but some of the staff wasn't so much."

"My relative was at Brookhaven and the first evening of admission went terrible. The room wasnt anything like we were promised, the room was cold, the supper, after finally getting it, was terrible and so tough and unable to chew. The nurses were nice and did their best to accomodate and things were looking up until a busybody kid with social services came in asking about our concerns and making excuses for the problems and more or less blaming the nursing staff for everything. For social services, he seemed to stir more than help. The next day was better with the nursing staff providing excellent care. The Director over the nurses was very kind and was always available if we had any concerns or needs. She gave us her card and was truly available any time of day if we needed her. Therapy did a great job too. All in all, what started as a bad experience, turned into a very good experience, thanks to the caring and kindness of the nurses and their Director. It takes special people for that type work and Brookhaven's nursing dept has very special people! "

"Highland Court was very beautiful. They main thing that impressed me was the layout of the place and the antique furniture they had throughout the joint. The staff was very nice. It was way off of Highway 65 with lots of space between the highway and the building itself. The actual architecture of the building was very appealing, but the price was another case. However, the place was gorgeous. "

"My mom moved into Springfield Villa. It was so welcoming and clean when I walked in. The facility was beautifully decorated. It was fully staffed. They were cleaning everywhere, and I loved that. It didn't have the smell of a nursing home. The staff was very welcoming and caring. It's a beautiful facility inside and outside. They have a courtyard. They have a beautiful activity room. The activities were posted, and they varied. I was most impressed with the staff. Several of them got down on my mom's level and talked to her. I loved that. They showed caring when they talked to her. The dining room was beautiful. My mom got there at dinnertime, so she went down to dinner. She looked happy and content, so I was happy with that."

"My mother-in-law is in The Maples Health & Rehabilitation. She likes the food a lot. The facilities are very nice, very spacious, very well-kept and maintained. It's just an overall really nice place. They've got a little bit of everything. They've got movies and bingo. They really try to get people to socialize."

"There are several ways in which I was pleased with the facility. It seemed very clean, the residents seem cheerful, and the overall atmosphere was one of caring. However there are days that I am not impressed. For instance the day we brought my aunt in there were several nurses on duty and not one of them offered to help after she was in the building. They did not appear to be busy and we had to ask them several times if we needed something. I have been in there and seen a resident's 'assistance needed' light on for long periods of time with no one coming to aid. This includes an incident with my aunt. There are many friendly and caring people employed here and there are some who are very apathetic and lazy. "

"They deserve 5 stars in my opinion. They have taken very good care of my mom on two different occasions and my Mom just loves everyone there. I can call Erica in the office and check on mom anytime and it I'm very grateful to her and the staff!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"My friend is at The Maples Health and Rehabilitation. His room is kept clean. There's somebody in there vacuuming every day. The food is good enough to eat. The staff does their job. I don't have any problems with them at all. They all talk to me. However, if we don't get early and get the handicap parking, we have to walk and it's too far for me."
