"Mom was in Highland Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. My sister and I were very pleased with their facility and their care. It was very nice and very clean. I saw them every weekend cleaning an area rug that was right in the center of a very busy area. It was just a very nice place and everyone was very friendly. I would recommend it. The staff that I saw was very attentive. The social worker was very nice and met with us every couple of weeks to go over Mom's health care plan and rehab. They kept, as far as I could tell, detailed notes on her rehabilitation and the course of action they were taking. I had no complaints about the staff. I thought the food was good. They were nutritious and balanced."

"Placing my husband in nursing care was urgent as I suffered an accident and could no longer provide full care for this Alzeimers patient, nor research facilities. There were two options available: Concordia, a rather unattractive older facility and a much newer one with more modern decor and amenities. To all outward appearances, the more modern facility took precedence. We would prefer bright attractive surroundings over older less attractive for our loved one of course. However when the staff showed us arround Concordia, the personal interactions and reactions were warm and genuine between residents and staff. One resident said he had been in several facilities and this was by far the best. We observed that staff knew and spoke gently to or joked with each resident they passed and the residents responded in kind. So the decision was made on our observations of the personal interaction of staff with residents rather than new equipment and decor. We were never sorry and began to enjoy that same care and concern and personal interaction with our patient and our family. Concordia is in the process of upgrading the facility and grounds and making it much more attractive, However, every family should choose personal concern and care for the patient over lovely facilities. "

"I truly liked this facility over the others (would prefer my father could go to one of the assisted living alzheimer units) as the staff was very upbeat, knew patients, and patients seemed very happy. Whole facility was painted in light colors which made you feel good, there was plenty of artificial lighting as well as ample outside light coming in adding to the cheeriness of the place. If we have to put my father in a nursing home (now called Long term / rehab centers) then this would be the place. "

"I brought my grand dad here i was originally concerned with the age of the building but the staff to him in and gave him the love and care he needed up until the day he passed of natural causes. They always went above and beyond to ensure he had all the things he needed even when our finances would not allow us to get the items for him they always found a way. The staff have been there for a long time (most of them) they are very knowledgeable and trustworthy. "

"My husband is in Springdale Health and Rehabilitation Center. Compared to a lot of the long term care, the place seems neater and cleaner. When my husband pushes the button for a nurse, it sometimes is not answered at all. It seems to be disorganized. The food seems to be pretty good. My husband's room is kind of like a typical hospital room. It's private and has a TV, so he's set. He can decorate it in any way he wants which is important to him since he's surrounded by familiar things. He's doing physical, occupational, and speech therapy."

"My dad lived at the facility for almost 5 years until recently. He had absolutely no complaints and neither did my family. All the staff on all 3 shifts were extremely helpful! They went out of their way consistently to make sure my dad was in the best care possible! Would recommend to anyone looking for skilled or long term care! Could not thank them enough. "

"My father was at Westwood Health and Rehab after his stroke and he has to have assistance with getting around and in the bathroom. He seems to be in good hands there and is well liked by the people who are taking care of him, even in difficult moments because he's always been pretty stubborn. They work with him really well. He's by himself in a private room. They have semi-private rooms there also. His room is kept nice and neat and he's got a minimum amount of furniture. He's got whatever he needs there. He's extremely picky about what he eats, but they make an effort to put in things for him that he likes. I like the way the staff members treat my dad. They're friendly to him and they treat him like family. They have activities, but he chooses not to be involved with anything other than rehab. The rehab room and exercise room happen to be across the hall from his room. There are physical therapists there and they bring their people in and work with them. They have a room for crafts and things of that sort, and they have people come in to entertain and play music. It's an older facility, but it seems to be kept up pretty decently."

"As weak and frail as I was when I admitted to Edgewood in May 2023, , I found the energy from the staff to be therapeutic. I had a great orientation so I knew what to expect and that relieved some of my anxiety The staff were all on the same page with getting me up and about. Great team work! I pushed myself while enjoying the fun personalities. A day didn’t go by that I didn’t compliment my caregivers. Tracie, Derek & Connor were the Admin I interfaced with & I sincerely expressed my compliments to the staff. . Bedside caregivers get an A+. They were organized, anticipated patient needs ( Dan) and didn’t waste time. The rooms were plenty big with windows. Housekeeping came daily and taught me about Marshallese, while dusting, mopping (Yaqua) and the aids really tried to get me to the dining room or bingo. I enjoyed a real shower & good scrubbing, and had a great haircut in the beauty salon. PT really are the best despite my grumbles. Heather & Joe made therapy fun & challenging with their games and devices; OT/Speech are more than their titles. We spoke about food & swallowing. My only complaint was the spicy gravy on the biscuit, day after day. I used to vote. On what I might get. But the rest of the meals were very good . The atmosphere is happy by design and that made my days easier. Thank you guys. "

"Butterfield was very expensive. It had a very nice dining facility, they have separate cottages, and then they also have a self-contained hotel-like setting on the property. The food was excellent; they had a great chef. The big problem I found with that is you pay a pretty exorbitant amount just to go in there, and then you still pay quite a bit monthly. The initial investment is never returned to your family upon your demise. "

"The reason why I chose North Hills Life Care and Rehab for my mom is because it has a four star rating. We're really happy with them and the staff were very helpful. It has a good atmosphere in it; it feels like a happy place. It's a whole different experience. I'm just so glad she's there. "

"My grandmother was here for a hip fracture she was very well taken care. I have had several family friends that have been at this facility and they have all been treated well. The therapy team is amazing! The star guide that you see through state doesn't tell you anything about the staff and care here. They have changed the administrator and several staff and that has been an improvement. If you have questions about their stars (like I did) you can ask the administrator or their admissions girl. They were very open and explained why such a low star. They both gave me their phone number just in case I had any other questions or concerns. "

"My brother is at Fayetteville Veterans Home, and I am looking for something more congenial for him. The quarters are pretty cramped, but it's the old Washington General Hospital; so the rooms are semi-private, and pretty tiny. They have three good meals a day. I think everything else is fine. He gets adequate attention, he goes out, and smokes quite often during the day. There are male, and female patients there. I don't have any problems with them except for the size. The dining area is fine, the dining itself is satisfactory, and the meals look good. They have a monthly sheet of activities that they print out. "
