I was always that person who said, "I'll never go to a nursing home." But a short term stay at Jordon Creek Nursing & Rehab I just might change my mind. I especially liked the staff on my wing. They were genuine and "real people" who looked at me as a person and not just another patient. The warm touch was always there and I appreciated it. I didn't have a moment's difficulty with anybody. The rest of the residents were friendly and their personalities showed. It was so much more like a community than I thought it would be. Now I don't fear a nursing home future like I once did.

My mother was at Jordan Creek. The care was not that great. She had to take two types of blood pressure medication, and her doctor required that her blood pressure be taken about twice a day before giving that blood pressure medication, but that was not being done. My mother had requested help having her diaper adjusted, and they told her no. They weren't toileting her every two hours at night. The food did not look appetizing. The people were not friendly.

My mother went to Jordan Creek Nursing & Rehab, and they didn't impress me at all. I had her removed from there by ambulance because they were insistent that she didn't have pneumonia, then two days later, she came up with chest and stomach pain, so I had her removed to go to the hospital. Sure enough, she had pneumonia. They need to improve on their social workers. They also need to improve on getting a higher staff level per patient. The first night mom was in there, they had a tornado warning. The women were very ill-prepared for it. I spent an hour and a half moving clients into a safe area. The nurses were like a bunch of chickens running around with their head cut off in an emergency, plus the room was very small.
