We're doing OK here at English Meadows Williamsburg Campus. The staff is well coordinated. They get along with each other, especially with the residents here quite well. They're very helpful. I'm very impressed with that aspect of the place. However, there is a lack of being able to communicate with the staff when you need them like for anything that you need help on. They don't have direct communication with anyone. You have to voice your request to a voice system. But you don't know if you get anybody or not. We're occupying two rooms because we're married couples. The rooms are quite small, and we have to cram everything into these rooms, which makes a lot of congestion. It is not open, too. The grounds seem to be okay. There's not a lot of parking. Those are the two things that could be improved. The food is good. It's better here than where we were. I give it a high mark. The facilities here consist of three cottages. There are 16 rooms in each cottage. The people here seem to get along okay. It's a nice place. You get to know everybody pretty well, both the staff and the residents. But there's not that many activities that I can see. There are movies and bingo games. We also celebrated the Easter weekend holidays. They go overboard with their declaration, which is good.

English Meadows of Williamsburg was excellent. It was very good. The rooms were spacious, very nice, and very adequate. There's plenty of room. The building is brand new. Everything is in a nice shape and extremely clean. All the staff that I met were excellent. They make meals for people at all different times. It seemed like it was a very nice setup. There are only 16 rooms in each one of their small units, so it seems like a very good system. The only thing is that everyone that I ran into had serious memory and social issues as far as being able to communicate and being able to talk to friends and stuff. Most of the people had more serious mental issues than the other places.

My mother-in-law used English Meadows of Williamsburg a couple of times last summer. That's just for like respite. I like it very much. It's got like three cottages. The people were very nice, so we like that very much. I met the chef, and he seemed very nice. He told me that his job was to make sure that the residents are happy with the food. And if there's something that they did not like, he would get them something different. The room was gorgeous. It had a bed and a TV. The bathroom was very nice. It was private, which my mother-in-law would prefer. I was very happy with the room itself. It was decorated nicely, and she never complained about it. They had an activities therapist. My mother-in-law loves crafts and stuff, and she said they had fun doing that. Also, they had like a fenced-in good sized courtyard. It incorporates all three buildings. There's a little gazebo where they can sit. They've got covered porches. It was a very nice place. I was very impressed. It was very clean, and it smelled great. I felt very comfortable leaving her there.

We toured the English Meadows of Williamsburg. They've only been running the place for a year, but we were very favorably impressed by that facility. The tour was lovely. It had a very warm and caring environment. Their director was very accommodating, very friendly, and very caring. The staff who gave us the tour was extraordinary. She was very good. We got the feeling that she cared about us. She was very anxious to help us whether we chose her facility or not, but she tried to help us find the right place for my friend. We liked the campus. We liked the activities. The room was small but it was adequate. It was nice and the bathroom was nice. They had different cottages. They had a whole building just for memory care, which I thought was nice. It was kind of in a square. They had stations like a little nursery for those residents that were regressed to take care of baby separations. So they had the dolls. They also had automated cats and dogs that you could pet. It was very nice. They had crafts. They also had a bus that takes the residents out for different field trips. The dining area was a communal dining area.

The care provided at this facility is top rate. My husband has thrived since coming here in late September 2018. His therapists say he has come even further than they thought possible because of the care, activities, and stimulation provided. They have made the holidays brighter for the residents and their families because of the activities, dinners, and programs they have hosted. Hats off to all the staff for the great care they provide!
