"We toured the Village on the Park Stonebridge Ranch. It is very clean and modern, smelled good, and there weren't any odors. The room was nice. My wife liked the respite room that they showed us. The staff was great. She was very informative and very attentive to my wife and made her feel welcome. They showed us the meal list and everything, but we didn't eat. I think they were about to do some more remodeling. So it's nice. They showed us the little courtyard there."

"Gracious Care Home - Allen, a residential assisted living, was a nice place. The only thing is that I don't know if they would have been able to handle my mother with her Dementia and all the requirements that she would have needed in that kind of environment. It was just a four-bedroom house, but it was very nice. I just don't think they had the equipment or the staff to deal with her condition. She's immobile, she can't walk, and she's bedridden. The medication, the fact that she can't walk, and with her dementia, I just don't know if they would have been able to deal with all that. She would have required more attention than I think they would have been able to provide. I think for assisted living or for someone who can still maintain, and just has memory problems, it would be perfect. My mom required more one-on-one attention because, although she can't walk, she's forgotten she can't walk, so someone has to watch her all the time, since she might fall and have a very high risk of falling. The staff was very nice to me. They introduced me to a couple of the people who were there, and they were also very nice. They have standard-sized bedrooms, and you can provide your own bed, which is nice. They probably need to improve accessibility. Since they're a home, it's not necessarily designed for the handicapped."

"I went to look at Vitality Court Texas Star. I was able to see the gym. They have physical therapy. The lady who took me for a tour was very courteous and very nice. They offered me a meal, but I declined. They have appliances in some of their rooms. Some of the rooms have a large refrigerator, a microwave, and a sink. They have a library and a salon. The dining area was restaurant-style."

"My mother has been a resident of Mustang Creek Estates for 3 years. My family and I were told about it by a longtime friend whose Father was a resident in the past. When inquiring about moving Mom there we were accepted with smiles and answers to all our questions. There are house pets so the residents have pet therapy and feel like they are at home. Children are welcome to visit and there is always cookies in the jar for them. So again it feels like a home for everyone. The staff are always available to help and their smiles are contagious. "

"I have a two bedroom apartment which is about 1100 feet and on the third floor. The staff is great and we have numerous opportunities to join in activities as well as a trip to the Casino each month. It's similar to a notation on a cruise for the activities of the day for a noteis left on your door with a list of the different functions of the day and the first of each month we receive a large sheet listing each days functions and the time. We have a theater for movies as well The swimming pool is great as well and I could go on but you need to visit By the way the food is great."

"We would have loved to move to Brookdale Creekside, but we couldn't afford it. The staff was lovely. There was a lady who was starting her first week there, and she escorted me around; she was very nice. She followed up later to see how my mother was doing, and she was really kind, even though she knew that my mother wouldn't be able to live there. It's a very nice community, it's newer, and nicely decorated. The rooms were small, but they're private. The cleanliness is also very nice. I couldn't find a thing that was wrong with it. I got to look at their calendar of activities and it looked great. Although the place was quiet when I was there, they apparently have a lot of things going on. The appearance of the community is beautiful. I don't think they have the kind of outdoor facilities that my mother's current community has, but what they do have is really pretty, nicely landscaped, and very pleasant. I would rate their facilities a four for the lack of space."

"Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living was wonderful. It's one of the facilities that we're going to present to Mom. There was quite a bit of staff. Everybody was upbeat as far as what they're doing. There was a couple of them that let us come in and look at their place. They really didn't have one to show, but that was OK, as long as it was OK with them. We did that, and it was fine. Actually, that was a good idea, because you could see what was going on and how things were laid out. The rooms weren't really big, but they always had stuff to do, and they were encouraged to volunteer if they wanted more to do, so that was good. We saw a one-bedroom and a studio. There were people in there, but they were very clean. Some of them had a lot of stuff in them, but that's OK, that's where they're living. The staff was wonderful. The guy was very upbeat. They took us around to see everybody in the dining room to see the courtyards and stuff, so I think we saw everything, even the hair salon."

"The Waterford was very nice and just right for my mother-in-law. There’s a barber and beauty shop. They had activities and had a singer come in, which was a good activity. We looked at the dining area, but they weren’t dining at that time. I would recommend it. "

"I had a pleasant visit at Sunrise of Frisco. The place looked good and the staff was great. It had a basic design but big enough rooms for my mother, and everything was OK. They have a place for social events and different rooms for gatherings. For what they need, I think it was good. They also have different activities throughout the week to try to keep them active."
