I had been to Rebekah Baines. The staff gave me a tour and answered all the questions that I had. I liked the facilities. The rooms were in good size. When I was there, I saw them walking and doing a little exercise. I liked that everybody had their own little space.

While in the Austin area, we decided to take a tour of the Rebekah Baines Johnson Center as an option for my brother's friend. We really liked the location, which is very near Lady Bird Lake. The high-rise building appeared very well maintained and to be a very safe place for seniors to live. The outer grounds featured a lovely courtyard with manicured lawns, trees and nice seating areas to enjoy. Each interior room had great views of the city and provided natural light. The accommodations resembled what could be found in a high-end hotel - with even more amenities. The many activity rooms and were all nicely decorated. Activities ranged from board games, to discussions and other hosted events, to private readings and film screenings and TV. The outside activities they plan regularly include everything from visiting local restaurants, to the public library, and day trips to nearby regions and cultural events. The dining areas were beautiful. The food and snacks we saw looked nutritious and delicious and are offered many times during the day and provided when requested. The living spaces were well-designed and spacious. All of the areas were pleasant to be in and we could see that the residents thought so, too. There was plenty of professional, yet friendly staff to take care of everything. They have planned exercise classes - but also offer residents to work out any time they wish. We liked that they encourage exercise regularly. The staff is well-versed at taking care of a variety of types of people. We were glad we took the time to look at this facility and it is in the running as one of the better places we visited in the region. Anyone who lives in this environment is sure to be quite content with the many amenities and the kind, competent and caring staff.
