My dad moved into Brookdale Germantown. We like the scenery, the geographical location, and the overall curb appeal. My dad's apartment is very nice. He was not limited to a twin-sized bed. We were able to bring in whatever size bed we desired for our dad, so that played a large part in the selection of Brookdale Germantown. They have excellent Southern-trained chefs and kitchen staff. The food is very conducive to the geographical location. They have a very diverse, inclusive staff that keeps the facility clean. The executive director helped me make Dad's bed, and the entire staff jumped in wherever they needed it. This past Friday, they did Western Friday, which my dad loved because he's a Western man. They play a lot of music and celebrate birthdays and all of the holidays. They do a lot of activities for the residents that are very engaging cognitively.

I toured Brookdale Germantown. It was lovely there. It's elegant. It has a very pleasant atmosphere. The staff was lovely and very professional. The food was delicious. The facility was wonderful. It's very homey. I felt like I was home there. The sizes of the rooms were just the right size.

I like Brookdale Germantown. They were super friendly, down-to-earth, and lovely people. They had absolutely plenty of staff. They had wonderful meals. I happened to be there at lunchtime. They couldn't do enough for their people. All the people seemed very, very happy and enjoying themselves. I was just quite impressed with it. They had people standing around to wait on them. They were just right there ready to take care of everybody. I did not eat there but the food looked very good and people seemed to be enjoying it. They had an elevator between the floors and two different areas. It was well laid out. There's a lovely little park in the middle. For such a crowded little city like Germantown, it was quite big, roomy, and spacious, but yet lovely.

I went to Brookdale Germantown. It's very outdated, and all you have is a bedroom and that's it. No apartments. I was not impressed with it at all. It was at the bottom of the list of the places that I went to. The staff were okay. Nothing stood out that was great. The sizes of the rooms were awful. There were little bedrooms, and everything was outdated. It hadn't been updated in a long time.

My brother is in Brookdale Germantown. We chose it because it was close to my house. I like the fact it's kind of small and the employees were really nice. I haven't had any problems with them up to this point. The staff is really good. I haven't tried the food, but my brother said it's really good. They've got a courtyard, they're supposed to have physical therapy, and they got a little library. They got a second floor I hadn't been up to. It was less expensive than most.

My son-in-law was in Brookdale Germantown. First of all, the manager there was great, she did everything she could possibly do to get him there. All the people were just outstanding, so it was a great experience. It's very clean, the atmosphere was very nice, and they had a lot of activities for people, so it's a really great place. They have a lot of activities like dances, they have bingo and all kinds of games, and you can get your hair done if you're a lady. There were all kinds of activities going on all the time. I asked him about the food and he thought it was very good. With his having a stroke, he gets depressed sometimes, and wouldn't want to go out, and it was very sweet for the ladies to come in and make sure he had food. They try to get them out to socialize, they're very caring. A lot of these other places would cost you about $2,000 to $3,000 more per month than them.

I had a very good impression of Brookdale Germantown. The atmosphere was very good and all of the people I saw were extremely friendly (workers and residents), which I thought was a good sign. The rooms were good and roomy, and they have very nice bathroom facilities attached (ensuite), and plenty of room for the furniture that we took over there for my sister. It was just altogether positive. When you go into the lobby, there's a fireplace and right now they're decorated for Christmas. You can see the dining room from the lobby and it's just very pleasant and very nice. I have no problem with any of it. The facility was top-notch.

Brookdale Germantown was nice and clean. It seemed like they had a lot of different activities for the seniors both inside their facility and outside. For different holidays, they mentioned doing community service for those that wanted to participate. I thought that was really nice and they definitely emphasized rehabilitation to keep seniors moving. The lady that gave the tour had a very positive attitude. She gave us a lot of great information on what we could do moving forward. While we were there, she said hi, knew all the staff, and was very friendly with the residents. They had a salon, a Jacuzzi tub for the seniors, art classes, a gardening club, and a barber shop/hair salon.

The lady at Brookdale Germantown did a good job. The place itself was just average. They were working on a spa, but it's not open yet. They also have a barber shop and a salon. She introduced me to people and they were nice and helpful.

My mom has moved into Brookdale Germantown. It's very nice. The people are very professional. It's very clean. It's not as large as some of the others that I've seen, but the staff is very attentive. Everyone seems to get along very well. My mom is very active and doing things. It's working out very well. There is exercising. There's an area where she got her hair and nails done. There is a library, and there are other arts and craft types of things that she does. My mom has a very large room. It's a very large bedroom. It has a microwave, a TV, a small refrigerator and a very large, comfortable bathroom. The value for the money has been good. We are still going through some assessments with the doctor, but the care that she's been getting has been very good. They take care of the facility very well. I've met the maintenance manager a couple of times. He put in my mother's TV and gave her a key for her door. They gave me a key as well.

I toured Brookdale Germantown and I liked everything about it. The people are super nice, and the director was really friendly and helpful. I thought it was depressing from a personal point of view just because of where my mother is headed. But that's not a reflection on the community, that's just my pretty daunting task. The director was very cordial, very easy to talk to, very knowledgeable, and very empathetic. They didn't have an opening at that, which was fine because we wouldn't be able to move right away anyway. I didn't spend a lot of time looking at the facilities, but they have a lady that comes and cuts their hair. They have a spa, which my mother couldn't care less about. The dining room look nice and I'm sure it was fine. On the surface, it was clean, looked tidy, and was presentable.

Brookdale Germantown was a very beautiful community. They are small, the staff interacts with the patients. I had the chance to interact with one of the CNAs, and she allowed us to see one of her patient's rooms. And what I enjoyed about being able to see that was, I was able to see the level of care that she put into caring for her resident. The room was very neat and clean. Even though the resident was not in the room, it was still clean. She went in, if she had things laying around, she picked up. She also laid her clothes out for the next couple of days, which I thought was pretty cool. So the residents didn't have to worry about trying to figure out what to put on or to get themselves dressed for the next couple of days, that was already done for her. So they take a lot of time with their residents, and I loved that. I could see they were getting lunch ready when we visited, so they weren't quite done, but the food did smell good there. So I was very pleased overall with that. I'm looking forward to speaking to the executive director. However, the royals are price-wise on the high side of our budget. However, they were willing to provide us with information on other programs that would assist in costs, which I thought was a good thing.

I liked Brookdale Germantown, but it's very expensive. I checked their assisted living. I was able to taste the food, they have good food choices. The amenities, they have community days, they have movie days, they have popcorn and soda just like in a real movie, and it's nice. The layout is nice, it's something that you can remember, you can get in and out pretty well.

Brookdale Germantown was very good and they were very informative. The lady who gave the tour was just wonderful. The place was very clean and it smelled nice. The residents I saw looked happy. It's assisted living and the rooms that I was shown as an example were very roomy and very comfortable looking. My father-in-law would have liked them. There's a nurse on duty 24/7. They had a hair salon. They offer religious services on the weekends, and there are places to watch movies and socialize. They have get-togethers, and I think they go out on shopping trips too. They make root-beer floats and ice-cream sundaes. They have a little "happy hour time," which is cute. It's a very quiet area. I was there early when I visited, so when I was just sitting in the parking lot, and I noticed how it's a very quiet, private area. The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable. I also watched them interact with the residents, and it was very nice to see.

I went to see Brookdale Germantown, and I wasn't as impressed with the inside as I am with the outside. The facility looked fine though. I saw some of the residents and they looked happy and well taken care of. I like the location too. The staff was friendly. They tried to show me and tell me about their place. The upkeep was good, but I expected it to be a little bit more inviting when you walk in the door. It's assisted living and (like several places) because of the pandemic, you almost can't see everything you need to see.The rooms I saw were good. They were a nice size.

My mother moved into Brookdale Germantown. The experience is good, she seems to be enjoying it. The staff all seem very professional, very nice. Her accommodation is very nice, the facility is very clean, very professional, and very nice. The location is right there on Poplar, very easy to get to, they have a great, big, huge front porch that you can go visit your parents on, that's what they're doing now. You're not allowed in the building, but they can bring 'em outside, and sit on the covered porch. It's a nice facility, the staff go the extra mile, they call me, and they're really sweet.

The staff giving the tour at Brookdale Germantown was good to me, they did their job and told me about what I needed to know. I had no problems with them. The rooms were okay, they seemed kind of small at first but taking into consideration where you're at, it's okay. They gave me brochures about their meal times. They have a dining area, it seemed open and comfortable for me. They had several different things for the residents. They have a TV room, they can sit out back and have coffee, and there were games that different people could do. The staff was really helpful.

We have no problems with Brookdale Germantown. Everybody's been wonderful, and the food is wonderful. They help my parents-in-law a great deal, like with showering, doing the laundry, and cleaning the place. They have the resident doctor and if they need to see him, they go in on Friday. They really like him. It's very expensive but OK. They moved in November 17.

Brookdale was very nice, very clean, and we saw a couple of apartments. However, it was in between meals, so we didn't see a lot of people and my mother didn't seem as comfortable there. They have a van for doctors' appointments.

Brookdale Germantown was really nice, but they did not have carpets on the floors. The room was pretty small and the shape of it was going to be hard to arrange furniture, but we really liked their staff. We liked the location, and that's probably Dad's 2nd choice. The rooms were clean.

I did not like Brookdale Germantown. It wasn’t as clean, and the staff was not very friendly as other places. Their cafeteria looked OK, and the rooms were actually large, but the staff and cleanliness were my main concerns. The location was good and right next door to a hospital, so that was very nice.

Brookdale Germantown was the most perplexing of all. They had the capacity to be very nice, but their current condition was not good. The carpet was all sticky and nasty. I knew they were going to be replacing it this fall, so that will not be the case later on. The person that we talked with was probably really good at heart, but she just came across as kind of jaded; maybe she needed to take a break or go on vacation. The rooms were actually pretty impressive, but there were various things about it that weren't good. I would suggest definitely replacing the carpet and cleaning up things when there is trash on the floor and stuff and having a more caring attitude. They definitely have potential, but in their current condition, there is no way we would move somebody in there.

My mother-in-law is in Brookdale Germantown. I like that it is homey. The rooms are large. They just feel like a comfortable place. I eat there; however, the food is not very good. They do need to improve on that. The grounds are very nice. It is very convenient to shopping and local hospitals.

Southerland Place looked good on pictures but when you walked up the facility, the entryway was dirty. The outside exterior looked like it needs to have cleaning done to it too. However, it was very nice, pretty and formal looking in the inside. I liked the room they showed us, it had a good size. My mother-in-law walked out of the exercise room and said there’s a horse in there! The room wasn’t that big, it just had a distinctive smell to it. They showed us around the spa and we went upstairs to one area that’s like a balcony. But we can’t really get out of there so that’s kind of an issue to me.

I looked at Southerland Place and it looked fine. The staff that I spoke with was friendly and very helpful. However, I didn't like the layout of the building. They didn't really have a designated activity area. It was like everybody was just hanging out in the lobby. They were assisted living but they don't have memory care and my mom needed memory care.

Southerland's staff was very professional, very friendly, very hospitable, and very well prepared for our visit. They invited us for dinner, and it was a very nice dinner. All the key members of the staff came in while we were eating and introduced themselves. I saw single, studio-type rooms, and they were considerably smaller in size than what we had. The facility was very nice and clean. The drawback of the facility is the distance from my home and the proximity to other family members. It was much too far out of the way.

The staff at Southerland Place were very professional and nice. They were very competent. There was nothing negative about the people at all; it was just my father, actually. My father thought it had a hotel kind of feel and they weren’t homey enough. It was just too overwhelming for him.

We placed my dad at Southerland Place and he has been there for two weeks now. We had a very great impression in regard to this facility. I felt very at home there. I feel very relaxed and I can see that they are very resident-oriented. The staff interacts with the families and I thought that was very important. The rooms are great and in fact that was the deciding factor on why we chose this facility. It’s like a big house with little bedrooms. Dad really loves their food.

Somebody walked us around Southern Place and the more I looked at it, the more it looked like a rehab place. The facility looked clean. The people were very pleasant; however, most of them were in worse shape than I was. We got to a certain place there where they were doing exercises. The staff looked very professional and very pleasant. For what they seemed to be doing, they're very good.

Southerland Place is an excellent facility. It's just a great place for my mom! It's a Brookdale facility. This is our choice for Mom because its location is better for us. The residents and the staff are both wonderful. My mom has a beautiful room with a nice view. It is also spacious. It just couldn't be nicer! They have a wide variety of activities for their residents. They have things for memory and cognitive skills. They have crosswords, puzzles of all kinds, etc. They have singing, Bible studies, and movies.

This was a wonderful place to put a loved one in. My grandfather stays here. At first, I feared the whole idea of assisted living, but the friendly staff relieves my worries. I personally like the fact that he has an escort, who is truly kind to him. My grandfather was overweight when he first went into the facility, but their nutritious meals has allowed him to lose weight and be much more healthier. The family room was a great place to host his 80th birthday. This facility is highly recommended.

I felt the staff was very nice during my father's stay at Southerland. The rooms were spacious and he always mentioned to us that the nurses were attentive. We visited several homes before choosing this one and the look of Southerland stood out from the rest. The look of the antiques reminded my father of the home he used to live in. I would recommend Southerland to anyone considering nursing homes.

Southerland Place is an great place. My grandfather recently took ill and was we had to find a place for him to go. Southerland was a fantastic facility, we have not decided where we would put my grandfather but I like how my grandfather can go get a nice shave at the barbershop. The detail to which the facility is geared towards seniors is amazing. Antique furniture and decoration with modern appliances such as big screen tv's sets this facility apart. They give as much attention as needed and give their patients dignity. This process has been really difficult for me and the staff was very respectful. This facility is on the top of my list.
