My mom moved into the Ackerly at Timberland. They provide food, laundry, security, and transportation for doctors' appointments. They have a great staff, the menu looked great, and everything is new and nice. They always have a lot of things going on, and they post it every day.

Very nice physical facility. Generally well maintained. Apartments are nice and have newer appliances, including washer/dryer in each unit. Unfortunately, the living experience does not match the physical plant. Constantly understaffed. Lots of staff turnover. Most of them seem well intentioned but are constantly rushing around because of understaffing. Housekeeping services are perfunctory and superficial. One afternoon, I took my mother out to lunch. I reported there was dog poop on the floor of one of the hallways. I was told they would get right on it. When we returned 2 hours later, the poop was still there. Communication is terrible. The residents seem unhappy and this does not feel like a community.

Very poor management. The family was blamed for miscommunication. There was no welcome into the memory care when we moved our family member there, and communication between leadership and floor staff was terrible the entire time. We moved our family member because there health was being effected. He is now at a new home receiving a much better level of care with a management staff that communicates with us.

I would highly advise you to seek care from a different facility and possibly even corporation. We had multiple issues with Management at the Ackerly. It was bad enough that we had to move our Dad which is never a good idea for someone with late stage Alzheimer's but he's in a much better facility where they pay attention to him and make sure he's well taken care of. No more sitting or walking around in his own waste. Unfortunately, he sustained some physical disabilities during his time at the Ackerly that cannot be remedied and was due solely to neglect.

I loved my tour at The Ackerly at Timberland, it was beautiful. The place was very nice, they have lots of different options for eating like different restaurants, and it's new. Even I could move in there. It's just too glitzy and too glamorous for my in-laws. The rooms all have their own refrigerators, it's definitely more upscale than other places we went to. The location of the place is perfect, it's within walking distance of restaurants and shops, it has a great walkability. It's in a good location, too. The staff who gave the tour was wonderful.

The rooms at The Ackerly at Timberland were nice. The staff were very good people, and their activities seemed OK. They had all the activities there. It's newer and fancier, and if you can afford it that would be great. It's a little upscale for most people's budget, but it was super nice. They had a garden area as well. I would rate them a 5 because they're a newer and really fancy place. The staff was also competent, and I think it's a good location.

I like The Ackerly at Timberland. The whole place is wonderful. It is a great place. The staff members are wonderful. I saw activities and the facilities, which were both wonderful. The building was great, but they don't have cottages.

The Ackerly at Timberland was extremely nice, very modern, very clean, and very up-to-date. It is very close to a grocery store, as well as a mini-mall that has different things, which makes it very convenient. The grounds are beautiful with lots of green space. They have a beautiful physical therapy room that has all the equipment you could possibly imagine using; it is very nice. It has 24/7 front desk service, which I thought was really cool. The apartments themselves were small, and they didn't have a lot of windows, so there wasn't a lot of light coming in; however, the kitchens were nice. The kitchens were actually bigger than most of the apartments. They have full kitchens that have full stoves, full refrigerators, and microwaves. It was nice. There weren't any activities necessarily going on, but they gave us a calendar of what activities were available. They have their own movie theater, their own beauty shop, and their own game room. The staff was extremely friendly and caring. Every staff member we met was super friendly and seemed to know the names of the residents. The food was excellent too.

I was very impressed with Ackerly. The place is very clean and new. They also had a lot of activities going on, like exercises for the residents. My sister decided on this community because the size of the apartment is bigger, and they accommodate pets. The other thing that impressed me was that the food was really good, fresh, tasty, and healthy, which is really important.

The Ackerly at Timberland was just too much money. The rooms were very nice, and everything was brand-new. They had an actual bar in the facility, weight rooms, therapy rooms, and a game room. It was a progressive facility where you could start out independent or assisted living and then move on up to additional care if you need it, and they had memory care as well. The food was very good, and one of the things I was not impressed with was they actually had a menu with prices on it; you would pay whatever the price was on the menu, and I just thought that was not what I was expecting. The feeling that I got from it was they were a big corporation and that they were in it for the money and not necessarily for the care of the residents.

My mother is not yet at The Ackerly at Timberland yet. It is brand new. I’m very happy with them. The rooms are good size. The administrative staff has been positive, encouraging, and open. The reason that we’re moving there is that they offer increasing levels of care so that my mom would be able to access more and more care as she ages. It looks good right now.
