"My cousin has spent about 6 weeks at Brookside recovering from a broken hip. From the looks of the place, it seems like it recently went through a pricey renovation. They have a waterfall and putting green in the common outdoor area that is really nice. Whenever I visit the staff always seems friendly and on point. I would recommend this place over other facilities in the area."

"We chose Nesconset Center for my mother because they have a bed. Since she's been there, she had physical therapy, they've helped her a lot and all the people were very attentive. Everything is good. She's happy. The food is good. They have a lot of activities. They take them outside and they have a place to sit. It's very nice. "

"My aunt is in St. James Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center for rehab. They care for my aunt very well. She's always clean, and there are no aches or pains. They're taking care of her properly. They notify me if anything is up. It's a very good place. They're very professional, and they try to accommodate her with everything that she likes. They don't allow us in her room because of the virus. We have visitations in the dining room with masks on and two at a table. I haven't seen the rooms, but I see all her flowers and plants in the window of her room upstairs. She says it's roomy. They have a drape that goes between the beds with their own TV. I haven't had any blowups or disagreements with the staff at all. From the time you go in, you have to go see somebody, fill out paperwork, and talk to nurses and the social worker. They were all very nice. They were gonna do a new planting area, but the town was so slow at getting permits this year because of the virus. It's a very nice looking place."

"This 5 Star review is for Wayne F. who saved the life of my Brother Scott Gingold. These are his words: "I am writing to you to commend Wayne F. for going above and beyond the call of duty last week when I was taken to the hospital. The paramedics had me strapped to a stretcher and were taking me down the hall to leave when Wayne stopped them. The paramedics didn't have the proper equipment on me and were taking me down without my necessary thirty percent oxygen. I think the ventilator was just giving me regular air. But Wayne made them take me back to my room and hook up the proper equipment. If Wayne hadn't spotted that in time, I may not have survived the trip to the hospital. Wayne saved my life and I just wanted you to know how grateful I am. "

"We chose Maria Regina Residence Inc for my mom because it was close to my house. They're OK. They do what they're supposed to. She's in physical therapy. They're doing their job as much as they can. She doesn't go to the dining area. She eats in her room because she won't get up. She says the food is not bad. The staff is nice. She doesn't go to activities, but they have them."

"My experience with Long Island Veterans Home was a very pleasant one. The staff is very supportive and helpful to the elders and display motivation to work their hardest ensuring everyone stays healthy and comfortable. Everyone seems to be happy and cheerful at work as they enjoy their job and realize they are doing their part to provide for these former soldiers. The veterans themselves were great too. They all seem very content with their lives at the home and maintain a positive and friendly attitude as you see them walking the halls or hanging out in a wheel chair. Whether disabled or just aging they all feel at home in this environment. The stories they tell and knowledge they have is also very enriching. Visiting the home was a learning experience and showed me the care that some people have and give every day. I also got a lot more knowledge of World War II. It is a clean, nice place with a friendly staff and residents. "

"I'm a grandchild of a resident who started in independent living before moving to assisted living and now the memory wing. While Jefferson's Ferry is undeniably expensive, my family love the nurses and think that the medical care there is good. There's a wood shop, movie theater, pool, weight room, library, and an activities schedule. They have a banquet-brunch every Sunday. My grandparent had a two-bedroom apartment that was perfectly sized for one person, updated, and clean, with everything you'd find in a "real" apartment. She was moved to a smaller room in the memory wing, which feels more like a carpeted hospital than a home, which is perhaps just how nursing homes are. The food has been good, and not just good for a nursing home. My grandma is alone in her room during the pandemic. They play classical music in the room and seem to pay her attention, though probably not enough as is common in settings with several patients. When we call to talk to or about her, staff is responsive and patient. I've visited many nursing homes throughout the country, and this is definitely one of the best I've seen."

"I was very happy and satisfied with the Island Nursing & Rehab Center. The service was very good. The rehab itself, the PT, and the OTP was excellent. Everybody treated me with respect and courtesy, and I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant stay. It was a very nice facility. My room was very nice, equipped very well, airy, and pleasant. I was in a double occupancy, and I had a roommate; we got along very well. The PT had extremely good exercise for what a person needs. They have different activities from bingo to concerts; you name it, they have it. "

"The rooms are spacious enough, the new windows are an asset. The staff are fabulous, couldn’t ask for mora professional, caring, friendly people! The menu is very nice, more staff an available to distribute meals would be an improvement. The head nurses on floor 2 are marvelous! Ignore the type errors, I’m old. We know all centers are short staffed, but these workers are marvelous!"

"I spent two and a half weeks there and found the staff and medical personnel to be nothing but courteous, always willing to help (even in the middle of the night) and prompt to give assistance whenever I needed it. Their concern was obviously genuine and they often went the extra mile for me, as well as responding to the many questions and concerns of my son, who was my caregiver during my stay. The physical therapy was by far the greatest feature ... everyone challenged me to get me back on my feet but never forced my therapy. And the cleanliness of my room was noted by my visiting friends and family members."
