"I visited Birchwood Suites in East Northport and toured their assisted living. It's clean and doesn't smell, has a lot of activities, and a nice staff. The person who gave the tour was also very nice. They offer medication management, entertainment, and three meals a day with snacks. They also offer housekeeping, safety, and laundry services. They assist with eating, insulin management, catheter management, and assistance for wheelchair-bound people who need it."

"Atria East Northport was very nice. The only thing it was a little expensive, but it was excellent. The staff was very friendly, and it was extremely clean. The room was beautiful. Everything was fine, except that it was very expensive. "

"My Mom is a fairly new resident of this facility. Each time I open the door to visit, I get this "homey" feel. Part of it, of course, is the decor, but the other half is the staff. Caring, attentive, kind. So far, so good! "

"It was a very nice place, but the hallways were narrow. We also didn't like the elevator because it could only fit two people. If somebody is in a wheelchair, it would be really difficult. The rooms were very nice. The staff was very helpful. The dining area looked very nice. They had a lot of activities like bingo, mahjong, and trips outside the facility."

"Sunrise of Dix Hills was very nice. We only saw the admissions lady. She took a review of what my mom was like. Everybody seemed very interested and genuinely helpful. They made us feel comfortable. When we went on the tour, everything was clean and smelled nice. The people that we saw were engaged. It's not like people were sitting around in a hallway, like in a nursing home, ignored. They were extremely strict. Everybody gets a temperature check. The staff is tested once a week. Everybody, as far as I know, and we were told that it's 100% vaccination. It's a mandate there. If people have COVID, they're quarantined to their room, and the staff has full PPE and they're monitored closely. We toured a private and a semi-private room and they were lovely. Everything is pretty much neutral colors, clean and bright. You're able to bring in your own pictures and furniture if you want. All the rooms have their own little kitchenette. There were a couple of covered patios with rocking chairs and benches, and there were a couple of gardens outside. It was cold, so we didn't go outside, but when we walked in, we got to see what was going on around the building. We were in the memory ward. It was very clean."

"My mother’s sister is at the Arbors. It was very much like a nursing home, and it didn’t quite fit my mom who was a little bit independent. The people in there needed a little bit more attention. The staff was great, accommodating, and we had a wonderful time. I think they did a fabulous job with my aunt. "

"All American Assisted Living at Coram is the only one we visited. It was a very nice and very clean facility. The staff has been very friendly and very helpful in answering questions. It looks like a nice place for my dad to go. It seems like they have a variety of things for them to do."

" This was a hard year but they did a great job with covid. My mom has been safe and now things are opening up. We know she’s in good hands, she’s happy and always busy. The recreation staff is amazing. She has her friends, the staff all know her and she loves the staff it’s a great community"

"Sunrise of Holbrook is really nice and the people are very nice. It's more like a home rather than an institution. I don't think there's enough things for the men to do there though since it's 90% women. I talked to them about that and they're trying to pick up some other things for men to do, or maybe have a men's club. A lot of the people there do not like the food. The breakfasts are good, but they all seem to complain about the lunches and dinners, and the selections aren't very good, which is what I hear from my father and other people. Housekeeping comes in every day to make the bed, and once a week they change the bed, do the laundry, and clean the whole place. There are different rooms for people to sit in, and there's a TV in every room. The staff is very good, very friendly, they're always looking after the people there, and they care of my father. They do a lot of things for memory, like matching games to keep their minds active. It's very expensive to stay there since they charge you for everything, like distributing medication, and when you need help with showers, they only assist three times a week. If you want more, you have to pay more. We're paying over $7,000 a month to be there."

"My tour at Atria Bay Shore was a good experience. The place was clean and nice. They have different kinds of apartments but I thought their apartments were too small. If I'm just by myself it would be big enough, but for 2 people they're too small. They said they have the full games and activities for the residents. I think this community is not for me, it's more for older people or those in their 80's because my wife and I are still active. The staff was nice, their food was good and everything was good. If you're someone who is ready for a place like that, then it's good."

"I am so thankful I found this place, taking care of My father who was 80 years old was becoming hard on me and my family, we didn’t like the idea of a nursing home so we opted for Divine Serenity. Best decision ever!! My father would call me and tell me how well taken care of he is there, along with being served 3 great meals daily. Danielle is always at the top of her game, from scheduling his doctor appointments to medication schedule, she has never missed a beat. "My mother liked Atria Plainview a lot; she liked the way it was built and it was very clean. The person who took us on the tour was very informative, very nice and very pleasant. They gave us muffins, and they were very good. We haven't eaten there but we met the chef and she was very pleasant. The facility is very homey and mom felt very good about the place. She likes the idea that they have a salon and they have a backyard where she can sit out since it has benches and nice gardens."
