"The apartments are OK at The Arbors at Hauppauge, but I don’t like the idea of two people in one room. Their dining area is also OK. "

"I did a tour. They took us to two different sites within the facility there. One part for assisted living and one part for advanced care. Some of the apartments have a kitchenette. They had a lot more activities and schedules. They have a beauty salon. They have more planned activities, and they have a rehab on site. The staff were very knowledgeable. They were friendly and welcoming. The residents were the same: very friendly and very welcoming. It was a nice experience. The facility was nice and clean. The grounds were clean."

"My mother-in-law is now at The Arbors at Bohemia. I love it. We're very happy and I think they're great. It's like a big living room, but it's not overly fancy. It's very nice, with couches, chairs, a beautiful dining room, and shared and private rooms which are also very nice. The staff is very pleasant, accommodating, and patient. I think the food is great and they have nice choices. I haven't tasted the food, but we've seen how it's laid out and what they serve, and it's very nice. They don't charge you by the levels; it's one rate. My mother-in-law is in a wheelchair so she needs help and they're very great with that, plus she needs medication help and they take care of that. They have an activity going every hour. I would definitely rate the staff with a five. They're amazing. And the facilities there are good, so we're happy with that."

"My mother has moved into All American Assisted Living at Coram. The staff is very attentive. They try to get to know what my mom's likes and dislikes are so that they can help her be more comfortable. They have a lovely variety of options for each meal. Everyone of them has been excellent. It's always giving her a choice of something that she would really make herself at home if she were at home. It's a brand-new program. It's kept up very nicely. The housekeeper is there every day; I've seen her in the room every single day. The building itself is beautiful. The grounds are lovely. She's in the memory care unit. Each day there are two morning and afternoon activities. Other parts of the program have evening activities, but it's not right for the memory care. After sundown they start to not be able to kind of focus as much as an elderly person who's just there for caring, but not in the memory unit. The second reason I chose it was because of the value. It was a good value. It was a competitive price. My first reason was it was close to home so that I could see her frequently. The staff has been excellent. I've seen the food and I've smelled it, but I haven't eaten it. It looked wonderful."

"Beautiful, caring place! They take exceleent care of my Mom who is very happy there! Staff is pleasant and will always address any concerns. "

"I visited Sunrise of Holbrook for my wife. I was very familiar with it because my father-in-law had been there for a couple of months about 10 years ago. The facility was very good, and I'm very happy with it. The room was very nice. It had a dresser, a couple of night tables, a nice bed, a nice closet, and a nice bathroom. It was pretty good. The people there seemed happy."

"Birchwood Suites is a wonderful, enhanced assisted living community. Our aunt is there, and she is so happy. The grounds are beautiful, its clean, and the food is great. The staff is very caring. My family member is in their memory care unit called Lavender Gardens, but they also have assisted living and independent cottages as well. What I love best about this place you feel warm and welcome when your there. A real family feel when you walk into the community. Also, from all the places we visited when we were looking around,this place is one of most affordable places on Long Island. Def a place to see!"

"I had a lunch tour with my father, the staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the building was clean. Other residents approached us and made my Dad feel comfortable. All the directors came to greet my Dad which was so nice to see, these people really care. We are in the early stages looking for a community for the future. Living in the area, this is the facility would recommend. "

"Divine Serenity Assisted Living looked like it was a residence that they converted to individual rooms. The time I was there, as far as I know, the residents were either on a trip or going to the doctor, so there were no residents there. The lady showed me the area where they would be doing work in the building. She also showed me a room. She answered all my questions. She told me how they take care of the residents. They have a nurse that comes in and a doctor. If the resident has to take medicine they take care of that too."

"We moved from PA to NY a few years ago and we had to move my Mom from her facility in Pennsylvania to a facility in the Syosset area. We received some recommendations from friends that included the Fellowship House. As soon as we walked in, spoke to Pam, and met some of the staff, we were convinced it was the right place. In her PA facility Mom was introverted, largely stayed in her room, and avoided most social situations. She complained constantly and was almost never in a good mood. Only a few weeks after joining the Fellowship House family Mom's mood was turned around. She was active with the other residents, her complaining vanished, and she was overall happy. Over the past two years the staff at the Fellowship House have proven to be very caring, attentive, and professional partners in the care of Mom. I stress partners because they are very good about communicating suggestions, issues, any status changes in a clear, timely, and caring way. The care at the Fellowship House has been great, and given Mom's progress, we would highly recommend the Christian Fellowship House. "

"I went to Maplewood at Southport. I think that was the most beautiful facility that I went to, it's the most modern, a lot of the activities they had been up to date like they provide them, Alexa, for all the different people in the community. They had virtual travel with VR technology. It had a nice courtyard area, and all the rooms were very nice also. The staff was great, and they gave me something to take to go."

"Amber Court of Westbury was nice and clean. I took my father with me on the tour and he seemed to like it, too. The residents seemed happy. There were things to do and the person giving us the tour was very knowledgeable. When we were there that day, they were having some kind of lecture. Then we saw a bunch of people sitting around, reading books, and playing games in another room. Based on the amount of money we could spend, we were happy with it. It seemed to fill in all the things that we need."

"We put my mother-in-law in The Arbors Westbury. The community is very friendly, and her room is a fair size, and very clean. They have a lot of activities from morning until night, including bridge, bingo, live entertainment, and crafts. They kind of have it all, including trips outside the community. The food is very good, and she has no complaints about the food. They provide plenty of it and they're very attentive to her. They have a library, a TV/ movie room, there are constant activities in the break room, and they have gardens. She's adjusting and seems to be doing very well. The dining area is very nice, it's clean, and a large area with a restaurant atmosphere. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are spotless, and the whole place is very clean. The community is very friendly to her and to the children of the seniors. I would rate the activities a four because they're constantly busy. It's affordable, and the level of care, cleanliness, and everything makes it a good package."
