"We were going to get Mom in Mcclay Senior Care, but before she could be transported over there, she passed away. It was big and clean. The facility is only four years old. The people were nice and very accommodating for the short period of time that we were there. The staff was nice and friendly. It was very clean. Mom was gonna be there for hospice."

"Cottages of Lake St Louis is very clean. The patients are content and happy, and the staff members are relaxed and happy. The environment is quiet. The rooms are private rooms and they're spacious. I'm not familiar with activities. My mother-in-law doesn't like to engage in those, and she just stays in her room. The staff has been very responsive. The building itself is very clean. Communication with them is excellent. They provide updates often. One thing we really like is their low number of residents per building. There are only 10 residents per building, and we love that."

"We chose West County Care for my friend because her needs were 24-hour care and the cost was comparable. The staff is very helpful. It seems that each staffer has taken the time to get to know her. The rooms are a little bit small. We would have preferred them to be bigger. We have seen some of the food and it looks pretty good. The building is older but the care staff is much better, more hands-on. The nursing staff is much more involved and proactive in my friend's care. Activities include bingo, cooking class and music to name a few. It is different every week. If you go into nursing homes, they tend to crowd their residents into a certain area and they all sit around; however, in this environment, they let the residents choose where they want to be -- whether it is in their room or out in the open. They kind of give them more freedom to be where they want to be, which I like. It is more patient-centered as far as the environment goes. My friend's care has enabled her to be in a more stable environment, so her behavioral issues have been drawn down to the very minimum. In other words, she is getting her medications on time and she is eating properly. These things have all helped her definitely, so her condition has probably improved. I would recommend this facility to others. "

"My mother has been at DGOTG for a month. My family and I are very satisfied with the care that she is receiving during her stay. The staff is friendly and attentive to my mother's needs. Many have taken the time to develop a relationship with her. This is such a comfort when we cannot be with her, knowing that she has familiar faces checking in on her and assisting her when we cannot. From CNAs to maintenance, we have had interactions with almost everyone and it is ALWAYS pleasant. DGOTG took all the worry out of a difficult decision and my family will be forever grateful!"

"We were very impressed with Meramec Bluffs. They were very good, but they've got an 18-month waiting period and we are on a waiting list. We looked at the little bungalow, not the apartments. The staff was very good. They had several amenities, more than what we would probably use. We liked the facility real well."

"Excellent facility...parents live here...highly recommend...great management...great nurses and CNA's.Communication with families is important and you will find that here. Great improvements in health with excellent nursing care...may not have as fancy decor as others but the care received here has been so much more important. You will worry less and feel confident that your loved ones are safe and happy! "

"My mother moved into Delmar Gardens West for about a week now. Most of the people seemed to be caring. The food seems to be good; she likes it. This weekend they were really short-staffed because people didn't show up, but I'm sure other nursing homes might be in the same situation. Other staff that were supposed to be off and came in, which was a good sign."

"I am the wife of a patient at Mercy Rehab. This facility was highly recommended by our BJC neurosurgeon because he said his patients had reported exceptional experiences here. Our experience was wonderful. The staff was 100% professional, kind and helpful. My. Husband received consistent and diligent OT, PT and Speech Therapy and we saw consistent improvement. The therapy staff trained me to help transport him to the restroom and to walk with him on the floor. That gave me the confidence to care for him when we went home. The family engagement and the faith-based caring attitude of the staff made our experience a very positive one. We will continue our therapy with Mercy on an outpatient basis. We are so grateful for the love and service we received at Mercy Rehab and highly recommend it."

"Mason Pointe was the Taj Mahal. When I walked in, everybody was well dressed. They had underground parking and a huge pool. You name it, they had it. They had huge apartments. I think their 2-bedroom apartment was bigger than my house. You just couldn't ask for anything nicer. They had a huge outdoor area that was lovely. One side of the building faced the interstate, and the other side faced a completely wooded hillside. There was a men's Bible study going on while I was there. They had a library which was more like a large alcove in the hallway with lots of books. They only provided around 20 meals in a month, and that was part of their monthly price. Beyond that, it had to be a la carte. And there were a lot of different things there that you had to pay for extra. This place was just over the top, but I would give them a 4-star rating because of all the add-ons and the lack of diversity among the residents."

"We went over to Delmar Garden of Chesterfield, and it was very, very nice. The person we met was very informative, and it's a family-run business. They do a lot of things that will accommodate you, that some places wouldn't do. The bedrooms are very nice. Any changes you want to make, they're very accommodating and they'll do them. The dining area was beautiful. They have a big grand piano in there. They bring music in. The atmosphere was very upbeat and just positive. The employees we met have been there for 20 and 30 years. It looks like people enjoy working there."

"My wife was in two other facilities, one month at one, and two months at the other, and we moved her because of the poor care at the other facilities. This place was recommended by a friend and we found it to be very good. She had a nice room and the staff was caring and friendly. For a year and 10 months I got to see this place on a daily basis and was very pleased overall with the facility and the staff. They have a better staff to resident ratio than at the other facilities we were in. I did her laundry because I thought the laundry fee was excessive, but this is my only complaint. We spent a lot of time together out on their courtyard. Lots of activities and most importantly good care. "

"The reason why my husband went into The Westchester House was because he needed peritoneal dialysis. His nurse from the dialysis clinic went over to try and train the staff, but the people there didn't have masks and they didn't wash their hands, so I was just horrified. Their dialysis is not good. They seemed to be good in just their nursing care. He was in an acute rehab center there, but nobody could get him back to being strong enough to use his walker. Some of the nursing staff was very good and very attentive, but others were not. It would depend on which nurse he had that day. You could tell that the building itself was getting old and probably wasn't maintained as well as it should have been. We didn't have to pay for it because Medicare paid for it."

"I have seen all three levels in Aberdeen Heights. I had a friend who stayed in the independent living, in the assisted living, and rehab. It was excellent, but very expensive for an average person. You have to be very wealthy to live there. The facility looked amazing. The staff was amazing. It was like living in a grand hotel. They have independent menus with a large selection of food, and it's delicious. They have every kind of activity, like they take them everywhere."

"My doctor put me in the St. Luke's Rehabilitation Hospital. I just got out. It's wonderful. They're very good at what they do and what they do is physical and occupational therapy. You don't go there for the food. You go there because you're gonna work three hours a day at therapy. The staff was very competent. They knew what they were doing. They've closed their cafeteria because of COVID. They're building an extended care facility and all the food is coming from that place. They package it up into Styrofoam boxes and bring it around to all the rooms. They're avoiding the problems of having too many people in one room for food and Covid. We've all got to respect that. Being a hospital and trying to deal with Covid is a nightmare. The food was not great. It was OK food. It was difficult for me as a diabetic. It didn't have consistent numbers of carbohydrates in every meal and stuff like that I would look for. They couldn't tell me how many milligrams of sodium were in my meals. I'm used to tracking. They weren't responsible for making them, so they didn't know everything about them, but nobody was going to starve. It's beautiful, it's relatively new, it's very clean, and very nicely equipped."

"My dad lived at Surrey Place for 3 years. Everyone was very kind and friendly to him. The nurses are very caring and professional. The activities department has a variety of activities and engage the residents and families. The food is good and the residents are offered choices. The medical care was great. He was able to use the wonderful doctors at St. Luke's Hospital. His St. Luke's primary care doctor would come to Surrey Place to see him. It was very convenient. "
