"The Willows (Willows at Brooking Park) is very upscale as far as the units, but it is a smaller community. We did have an uneasy feeling about it. Both my husband and I said this is not a place we would want to be. It is associated with assisted living and skilled care that is hooked to a hospital that we used some time called St. Luke’s. It is very close in proximity to that, so we thought it would be a good fit. The units themselves are very upscale, but it is not a large community, and there was something about the atmosphere. We don’t know anyone that lives in this community. The staff members were friendly and eager to show us their floor plans. We took tours of display units that were not occupied yet. "

"I went to Garden Villas and we had a great interview and tour. They offered to hold a space for my dad for a month so I could make up my mind without charging, so that worked out well. Everyone seemed very friendly and said hello and just seemed like a good place to go. We visited everything that we thought was appropriate like the dining area, rooms, and physical therapy room."

"We were very impressed with Meramec Bluffs. They were very good, but they've got an 18-month waiting period and we are on a waiting list. We looked at the little bungalow, not the apartments. The staff was very good. They had several amenities, more than what we would probably use. We liked the facility real well."

"I'm living in Breeze Park. I'm in the independent living apartment, but if it's needed, I can go to assisted living, and I can go to full-time nursing all the way up. This is not cradle to grave, we say it's a walker to the grave, you don't leave here unless it's your choice. I have a full kitchen here and it has my microwave and the refrigerator, and nothing else gets used. So I go every day for lunch. About a month ago I had a blood clot and then my leg was hurting so bad that I clicked my little pendant. They came on and this was like 11:00 at night. I said, Call 911. Before I knew it, the lady was there, the ambulance was there. That all got me right into the hospital and surgery, and it was immediate. If I'd been any place else, I wouldn't have had that. There's a swimming pool. There is a wellness gym. There are all kinds of group activities. The church is here, the doctor is here, and the dentist is here, he comes. The bank comes regularly, they tell you when you go down, you don't have to leave. But they do have the buses Monday and Tuesday to any doctor or dentist in the county, Wednesday and Thursday, to Kohls, WalMart, and Penney's. Any of that kind of shopping you want to do, and on Fridays, the bus will take you to any place. I have never heard a staff member say a sharp word to anybody. I liked their food. There are three choices on the menu. And if you don't like any of those choices, there's a whole bunch of sandwiches you can get. You take your pick, there's a whole page that you can take your pick. They have the roast beef open face, they have turkey and dressing. Yesterday I had ravioli. I've got my apartment all set up with Alexa and maintenance comes down and sets it up for me. And if I got any questions about any of the Internet stuff, just call and they come and help."

"The Gatesworth caters to a very wealthy crowd, it’s a very expensive place. It’s like a beautiful hotel. The facility is very clean. They decorate it throughout the holiday with a huge tree in the lobby. They have a doorman who opens the door for you. There’s a limousine that takes people grocery shopping. The rooms are quite beautiful as well. They have everything from assisted living to independent. The staff is very professional. I will recommend this place to someone who has money. "

"We are on a waitlist at The Villages of St. Peters. The place itself was very bright and light, which gave us a good feeling. We like their minimal medical policy. They said they try to keep them on as little medication as possible. Those two things were very attractive to us. It is a mile from my house, so it would be very easy for visiting. They have a companion room that seems pretty close to our price range. It has a small patio and a little bit of space to walk around. Their staffing seems more than adequate."
