"The staff is very personable, they did the best they could with what they have, and they did everything for my friend with her needs. They have physical therapy, television, and bingo, but they should have an area where the patients could go outside, like the tables and umbrellas and that kind of thing to sit up and enjoy. "

"My mother is in St. Andrew's at Francis Place now. It's very good. We're happy with it. The staff has all been very helpful. We haven't had any issues at all. Everything appears fine. She moved in there when the virus was already here, so they're on lockdown, and they're not letting anybody in. She's happy with everything."

"I have a friend who lives there now. I am very impressed with the place. The nursing staff are very nice, the nurses stay on top of my friends issues. The food has gotten a lot better over the last few weeks. no odors which is a big plus. probably could use a few updates because its an older building but overall, its comfortable there and my friend likes it. There's been a lot of changes over the last year or so but for the most part, its been positive changes. I would recommend Marymount Manor"

"Excellent facility...parents live here...highly recommend...great management...great nurses and CNA's.Communication with families is important and you will find that here. Great improvements in health with excellent nursing care...may not have as fancy decor as others but the care received here has been so much more important. You will worry less and feel confident that your loved ones are safe and happy! "

"Jeff was a resident there for almost 3 months and has to have 24 hour care. He was well taken cared of. He was happy there. The staff took very good care of him. They kept him clean, trimmed and fed well. They also kept me informed and gave me good suggestions when I was bringing him home. The place was clean just a little run down. But he wasn't there for the looks of the facility. The staff was so nice! I have recommended this place to 2 people and will recommend it to any and everyone."

"My mother is in Warrenton Manor for rehab. I don't like the food they serve the residents, but other than that, they take pretty good care of her. She seems pretty happy there, and she hasn't complained. Of course they don't give them any salt and seasoning on the food. We brought her home for Christmas dinner and brought her back. They’re wonderful, attentive people. My mother is cared for and has a wonderful therapist that comes in several times a day. Her biggest complaint is that, "My eggs are cold, and the food is either cold or tepid." She can't remember anything but she remembers that. I understand the food has to be bland because of all the dietary restrictions, but at least they could get it out hot. That's the only problem I had with them. The amenities seem fine for what's going on there and the state of these people. The things I was concerned with in the beginning I understand now why they do it. They bring out some people and have them lay on these wonderful beds. They're stroke victims or high-risk so they can keep an eye on them closer. If they can't answer your question, they go run for help and find somebody to answer everything, or they give you a phone number to contact. The level or the quality of care is there, I have no problem with that. My mother had a roommate before, and they couldn't have picked a better roommate for her. I thought, "Wow, they even think of that." That was really sweet for them to pick someone and be a companion and talk to my mother so she is not just sitting there and being sullen. I really appreciate that. They have a calendar that they put out. They have manicures and hair cuts at the beauty parlor every week, which my mother enjoyed because the girls cut her hair really well. They have activities every day, like church service, carolers coming in, visiting little kids, and all different things. They have little shops, play bingo and games, and get fake dollars that they can use at their store. They also have a beautiful front lounge with a big TV and beautiful lounge chairs. They have a big beautiful piano and bring people in to play. When I was there I saw a resident who just finished playing, even though she may not remember that she used to play, she seemed real happy about it. You can come through the front door, or through a side door depending on the time of the day. They are very nice people who are very kind to their residents and try very hard. They do everything they can."

"I visited Meramec Bluffs. They don't let you look at anything else but the independent living because of COVID. The apartments were nice and decent. If you want to change anything, you can change it; it's nice that you can pick out what you want. The staff was very helpful, they answered our questions, and for the most part, there was good communication. Meramec Bluffs is next to a river, and there are lots of trees, so it's a very nice location. They have a swimming pool, a barbershop, a little marketplace where you can buy food, and a little clinic that, if you don't want to go to the doctor, you can get your primary care there. I think they have physical therapy, an exercise room, and a room where they do a lot of different activities."

"My mother in law left the hospital and was not doing anything but laying in bed; within one week Delmar on the Green, she is dressed and at least moving a little on her own. Very clean and the food is great for her. Highly recommend. "

"I'm living in Breeze Park. I'm in the independent living apartment, but if it's needed, I can go to assisted living, and I can go to full-time nursing all the way up. This is not cradle to grave, we say it's a walker to the grave, you don't leave here unless it's your choice. I have a full kitchen here and it has my microwave and the refrigerator, and nothing else gets used. So I go every day for lunch. About a month ago I had a blood clot and then my leg was hurting so bad that I clicked my little pendant. They came on and this was like 11:00 at night. I said, Call 911. Before I knew it, the lady was there, the ambulance was there. That all got me right into the hospital and surgery, and it was immediate. If I'd been any place else, I wouldn't have had that. There's a swimming pool. There is a wellness gym. There are all kinds of group activities. The church is here, the doctor is here, and the dentist is here, he comes. The bank comes regularly, they tell you when you go down, you don't have to leave. But they do have the buses Monday and Tuesday to any doctor or dentist in the county, Wednesday and Thursday, to Kohls, WalMart, and Penney's. Any of that kind of shopping you want to do, and on Fridays, the bus will take you to any place. I have never heard a staff member say a sharp word to anybody. I liked their food. There are three choices on the menu. And if you don't like any of those choices, there's a whole bunch of sandwiches you can get. You take your pick, there's a whole page that you can take your pick. They have the roast beef open face, they have turkey and dressing. Yesterday I had ravioli. I've got my apartment all set up with Alexa and maintenance comes down and sets it up for me. And if I got any questions about any of the Internet stuff, just call and they come and help."

"Mom has dementia. We have a large family and it has been hard on us all. There is a lot of guilt in having to place your mom in a facility. A lot of worry and sadness. We are fortunate that mom is for the most part "happy". She smiles a lot and still likes to show off a few dance moves if the mood strikes her. We recently moved mom from another skilled nursing facility to Frene Valley Owensville as they have a memory care hall. Mom has adjusted so well to the move. As soon as we arrived the staff greeted us and started tending to mom right away. Paperwork was minimal it went very fast and easily understood. The facility is clean, bright and staff go above and beyond to help with anything we need or answer any questions. We (moms family) talk amongst ourselves about the good care mom gets at Frene. We go to see mom and she looks clean and well kept. We....and there are many of us, highly recommend Frene and we wish we would have moved mom sooner to the facility. There are many places within the facility to just sit with mom and visit with each other. The outside garden is so pretty and peaceful. The staff are hard workers and very loving towards mom. Mom is not much of an activities kind of girl but the staff always tries to get her involved and some of them even "dance" with her! We are very pleased with moms care! Thank you Frene Valley Owensville! We are so much more confident that mom is getting the care she needs."

"We chose West County Care for my friend because her needs were 24-hour care and the cost was comparable. The staff is very helpful. It seems that each staffer has taken the time to get to know her. The rooms are a little bit small. We would have preferred them to be bigger. We have seen some of the food and it looks pretty good. The building is older but the care staff is much better, more hands-on. The nursing staff is much more involved and proactive in my friend's care. Activities include bingo, cooking class and music to name a few. It is different every week. If you go into nursing homes, they tend to crowd their residents into a certain area and they all sit around; however, in this environment, they let the residents choose where they want to be -- whether it is in their room or out in the open. They kind of give them more freedom to be where they want to be, which I like. It is more patient-centered as far as the environment goes. My friend's care has enabled her to be in a more stable environment, so her behavioral issues have been drawn down to the very minimum. In other words, she is getting her medications on time and she is eating properly. These things have all helped her definitely, so her condition has probably improved. I would recommend this facility to others. "

"Delmar Gardens of Chesterfield was clean. The staff was excellent. I liked the fact that it was close to my house and the fact that it has a fairly well-known name. Everybody knows about Delmar Gardens, and they kind of have a good reputation. The admissions director was excellent. He was the one who actually found us a place. The one negative is they had a waiting list; we couldn't get my mother in right away. That probably would have been our first choice, but we didn't know when she could get in, so we had to move to a place that was a little farther away. One slight negative was it's very large. Other than that, there were really no negatives. The only activity I saw was they were having a Catholic worship service in the common area. They had some areas outside. They had kind of a little spa with a shower area, a whirlpool, and some other things in there."

"While most facilities expect you to spend down your assets while living there and then will extend a medicaid paid bed to those who no longer have any money, Big Bend Woods opens it arms to all sorts of clients, regardless of their ability to pay. It is not the most up to date facility as a result, but it is clean, cheerful, accomodating to residents and their guests, and the staff is long term, kind, always willing to learn more, and spend a great deal of time caring for and being kind to residents of all abilities. I am so impressed with the facility that I have recommended it to several other people who are looking for a home for their loved ones. I couldn't say enough about how wonderful they have been with my aunt. "

"I really liked Garden View Care Center of Chesterfield. I would've chosen them if they had been more cooperative. I wanted all their amenities, and the layout of the place was great. They had a weird Covid rule that they had to lock my brother up, and we pay somebody $22 an hour to make him stay in his room. That is crazy. He's got dementia and that's very cruel to do that to somebody. I liked the layout. You walk down a huge hallway. It has all the amenities, a little room like a sports room, and a little conference room for you to be with your family. It has a dining area for you to have a private meal with your family, which I thought was great. They had a huge room, fireplace, baby grand piano, and a place where they had birds that's called an aviary. I really, really wanted that place, but it's a little far for me and they wanted to lock him in his room; you can't do that to a dementia patient. That would have been a great place for him to be. I did taste their ice cream, and it was delicious. They get a five on their food. Their staff was OK, so it must be the owners. That policy of locking this man in his room and pay somebody $22 an hour was a dealbreaker. It's not a convenient location for us, but I would have done it because I liked the facility. Their policies just absolutely stink. You must make a secure unit, but you don't lock them in their room. They don't get a good rating for policy at all."
