"My mother is in Warrenton Manor for rehab. I don't like the food they serve the residents, but other than that, they take pretty good care of her. She seems pretty happy there, and she hasn't complained. Of course they don't give them any salt and seasoning on the food. We brought her home for Christmas dinner and brought her back. They’re wonderful, attentive people. My mother is cared for and has a wonderful therapist that comes in several times a day. Her biggest complaint is that, "My eggs are cold, and the food is either cold or tepid." She can't remember anything but she remembers that. I understand the food has to be bland because of all the dietary restrictions, but at least they could get it out hot. That's the only problem I had with them. The amenities seem fine for what's going on there and the state of these people. The things I was concerned with in the beginning I understand now why they do it. They bring out some people and have them lay on these wonderful beds. They're stroke victims or high-risk so they can keep an eye on them closer. If they can't answer your question, they go run for help and find somebody to answer everything, or they give you a phone number to contact. The level or the quality of care is there, I have no problem with that. My mother had a roommate before, and they couldn't have picked a better roommate for her. I thought, "Wow, they even think of that." That was really sweet for them to pick someone and be a companion and talk to my mother so she is not just sitting there and being sullen. I really appreciate that. They have a calendar that they put out. They have manicures and hair cuts at the beauty parlor every week, which my mother enjoyed because the girls cut her hair really well. They have activities every day, like church service, carolers coming in, visiting little kids, and all different things. They have little shops, play bingo and games, and get fake dollars that they can use at their store. They also have a beautiful front lounge with a big TV and beautiful lounge chairs. They have a big beautiful piano and bring people in to play. When I was there I saw a resident who just finished playing, even though she may not remember that she used to play, she seemed real happy about it. You can come through the front door, or through a side door depending on the time of the day. They are very nice people who are very kind to their residents and try very hard. They do everything they can."

"My husband has been there only one week so very little experience to call on. But the employees seem to be caring and attentive. Small, quiet facility. My husband likes the meals so far and over-eating is not urged on him. "

"We like Garden View Care Center a lot. My mother is very happy there and gets the attention that she needs with the staff to patient ratio of care. They have entertainment, games, birthday celebrations, and happy hours. I would only give them four stars because of an incident that happened; on the sixth day that Mom was there, her wedding ring was stolen. "

"My mother-in-law is at Aspire of Jonesburg. We chose them mainly because it's the only place that has an opening that can do her care. She needs 100% max care. They're rolling her over, they're taking her to the bathroom, they're doing everything. The staff there are good, nice, and patient. They always answer questions when I have any. The facility is an older building. It doesn't look pretty by any means, but the care has been really good. My mother-in-law says the food is gross, but she doesn't like anybody's food. There is a calendar of activities on my mother-in-law's door of all the different activities, and there's something every night. Her room looks like a college room. You walk in and you have a bed, a TV, and dressers. It's got its own bathroom. No kitchen. It's just a bedroom."

"My sister is staying in the St. Peters Manor. She has as an amputated foot and a wound that doesn't heal. I'd say the place is quite good. It seems always clean. Once in a while, you notice some odors. But that's a constant battle I know in that kind of place. She's been in several nursing homes. It's one of the nicer places that I've seen her in. They seem very knowledgeable and very caring. "

"So far we like Villages of St. Peters; the location is close -- which is convenient for us -- and the price is good. The room is sufficient for one person; it’s a bedroom with a separate living space and a kitchen area with no stove, a little refrigerator, a microwave, and plenty of kitchen cabinets. The people that worked there were professional and very friendly. They know everybody by name, and when you walked down the hallway they talked to everybody that they saw so I’m really impressed with that. "

"I have never seen a nursing home so poorly run. The facility seems in disarray all the time. I have been there when resident room lights were going off and no one ever answers it. The nursing station looks more like a meeting room. The nurses and aides are hanging around when lights are on and no one pays attention to it. This has been brought to the attention of the Director of Nurses and the Administrator and have had no results. The person I go to see at the home is very unhappy therer. This is not a nursing home that you would want your family or friends at, believe me. C.Baker "

"The staff at Breeze Park was wonderful. It's older and small and had a long wait list, but if you've got a several year long wait list, you obviously are doing something right. They had everything from senior apartments, independent living, assisted living, memory care, nursing, and even short-term rehabilitation. It's a large campus that had multiple buildings. The outlying perimeter of the campus had independent town homes. They had a golf course and different amenities. They're allowed to use the facilities within, but they're basically living on their own. There was an apartment building for independent living where you get a little bit more skilled care and cleaning staff. They had another building made for assisted living and attached to it was the nursing facility. The rehabilitation building was also attached to the nursing facility. They were separate buildings, but all in the same complex. They had swimming pools and all kinds of amenities."

"The social worker assigned to the case found Frontier Health and Rehabilitation for us. Staff is really good. They work with my dad. He is in their memory care. They kept me informed of what's been going on. They have a workout place and activities, and they do exercise. The place is just old. The building needs to be rehabbed."

"My brother is now at Maple Grove Lodge. It's only like 10 minutes from me here in Louisiana. They are very helpful and they offer to get Medicaid for him so that he could live there. He didn't have enough money on his own, but they said that he would qualify for Medicaid and they did all the filings and all the paperwork for me, so that was a big relief for me. It's full-service skilled nursing. He doesn't really require skilled nursing, but they took him anyway because they had a room, and then if he declines at all, he'd be in a good place, and he wouldn't have to change. My brother has a room. It's not updated and it's older, but it's very clean. The staff are wonderful, very kind, caring and helpful. The facility itself hasn't been updated since probably the 1980s maybe. Everything is a little bit older and a little bit shabby, but it's very clean, and the staff are very, very kind. They have activities, but he does not partake. I see the schedule and every day they have some activity that you can be a part of, so that's very nice. "

"My mother-in-law has been at NHC Healthcare for almost a month now. We chose this facility because it was recommended by a hospital. The staff were warm and friendly. They also looked very helpful and very concerned, and they are continuing to demonstrate that. The facility is very clean. I know that they do games and have group sessions. They also have religious services for other people there, which is important to me. She is sharing a room with another person, and she has closets and drawers for her items. "

"My brother moved into Lewis & Clark Gardens. It was more of what he was used to, so compatibility. It was almost like a dorm room for college. Each person could have a bed, and his or her closet space. The staff was very upbeat, and willing to help."
