"My mother is on the list in Oak Crest and we heard from them yesterday that they do have an apartment available. They have a swimming pool, bus trips, they do bingo, arts and crafts, computer classes and they go to shows and shopping. The staff is wonderful. They are fully staffed. They have a wide range of healthy food on the menu. "

"This is the best nursing home in Harford County! There are activities everyday that fill the whole day up. The staff is supreme. There's a cafeteria in the nursing home that sells to families and staff. It's very nice. And the food is excellent and the prices are so cheap . The residents eat for free in the cafeteria if they choose too. There is a court yard that's beautiful. Residents get to plant flowers and walk around in it. They get to go watch the fire works right on the boardwalk. They really do a lot for the residents and I can tell they really care. They are extremely nice and very professional. They have the best dementia unit. They have six units and all the nurses are nice. They keep everything stocked. There's a gift shop in the nursing home. Bomboys is right next to it and families are allow to walk there. There is a pharmacy that families can use in the back. It's a smoke free facility. It's safe and your mother or father will be taken care of. "

"My mother-in-law stayed in Franklin Woods for rehab. It was a lot better than some of the other ones. The staff members were nice. My mother-in-law loved the food. They had plenty of activities going on, so she certainly could have gotten involved in them. I would have thought that they would push her to do more activities than she did because most of the time, she didn't do a lot. They had sing-a-longs, bingo, and musicians playing guitar. Her room was double occupancy, but they kept it clean."

"Stella Marris is a large facility with living and rehabilitation services for seniors. During several stays from strokes and a surgery, my step dad accepted rehabilitation services in their rehabilitation center. He stayed several times in chunks of two week periods. The facility is located on a very nice area with trees and fields. The staff are very welcoming and go out of their way to help out with requests or with questions. My step dad had very good care while staying there and even enjoyed the food. Each stay he was able to watch tv, associate with others, and even partake in activities if he wanted to. The facility had a very busy rehabilitation center with numerous therapists available to help patients with their recovery. They had different types of exercise equipment, walking aids, stairs, and other devices. My stepfather was able to walk better after a stroke with their great expertise. There were also social workers or case managers that could help out with anyone needing outside services or finding other caretakers once they had left the facility. My stepfather was able to find an outside physical therapists with their help. The facility is accessible by car and has ample parking for guests. When visiting him, we would often eat in the dining area which is open to guests and residents alike. They also have several areas to sit or rest while visiting. During the spring and summer months they had numerous flower beds in bloom, making the area around the facility very inviting. Overall Stella Marris is very well recommended and has a wide range of services available. "

"Stella Maris is very large. I think there are 300 beds. They're well-equipped for absolutely everything, and they have a special wing just for the memory care patients like my mother. The care seems first rate, and they seemed to have thought of every need and met them. It has a really good feel there."

"Ivy Hall was where my mother transitioned to assisted living. Overall, it was very good. The only thing I ever noticed about any of the nursing homes is the smell when you go in. They have a strong urine odor. I would recommend them, but they should improve on the general smell when you walk in the front door. "

"Autumn Lake Healthcare at Loch Raven was relatively clean and neat. Everything was what I would have expected it to be. The person walked me through, and we checked the rooms out and all the areas of the facility. It's more like a hospital setting. They have a few single rooms, dual occupancy, and triple occupancy rooms."

"My mom is at Manor Care - Rossville. All of the staff are very friendly. Whether it be the person at the front desk, the activities directors, the nurses and techs, or the people cleaning the floors - all are welcoming and caring. The nurses and techs are attentive and keep me notified of any changes as they occur. I really feel that she is getting good care. I asked my mom how she felt, and she agrees. She says she is content. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars is that the rooms are small, and each room is shared by 3 residents. That can make for cramped quarters, for sure. "

"I was able to visit ManorCare Health Services-Towson, and it was very good. I moved my grandfather to this facility, and they took very good care of him. Kudos to the nursing staff and the special services. "

"Overlea Health is in a questionable neighborhood but once you get inside, it's OK. The staff was very caring and made sure my grandfather was clean, changed, etc. They did a far better job compared to his previous community, and we were happy with the care that we were getting. The food was average. Sadly, one small accident significantly increased his illness and subsequently, he passed."

"Broadmead Retirement Community was a wonderful place for my mother. She enjoyed going to the dining area and interacting with its wonderful staff. She even loved the food. The medical technicians, housekeeping, drivers were all friendly, competent, and professional. . She enjoyed the many activities provided, and the friends that she made. I was very glad that she was able to have this lovely experience in the latter stages of her life. As my mother's needs changed and adjustments had to be made to her care, the administrative staff responded promptly and appropriately. I always knew that she was being very well cared for. "
