Assisted Living Reviews for Broadmead

We chose this community because after visiting about 3 other retirement communities in Baltimore County, Broadmead was the best organized and was the cleanest. The apartments are really nice and have plenty of space. The staff is just marvelous and really makes a difference. Their Director of Sales is a true professional and did really well assisting us with everything we needed. There seems to be plenty of activities to keep the residents occupied if they chose to participate. As soon as we visited Broadmead we just knew this was the community we wanted. We are very pleased with our decision in choosing Broadmead.

To start with I was very impressed with how friendly all of the residents of Broadmead are. As soon as you walk in the doors, you are greeted by many people of all smiles, who are ecstatic to have another member of their retirement community. Broadmead is not a typical retirement community; it's actually founded on the Quaker traditions of the past and continues to operate that way today. There are a variety of facilities present here to residents to live in, including many very nicely furnished independent living apartments which are big enough for one resident and his/her spouse. For those requiring additional care, there are other apartments around that have either a part time staff to serve residents, or a full time care facility as well. These apartments aren۪t exactly apartments by the way, they are more like small condos spread around the campus with roads connecting them all, and the units are usually in blocks of about ten. The scenery is very nice here; it's located in the middle of a nice forest, with a few great nature trails to explore, as well as a pond on the campus as well. The staff is mostly brought up from Baltimore City on the light rail, and they are very eager to please the residents. Would highly recommend other's to investigate Broadmead for their own benefit.

We're going to go to Broadmead. The housing and the residents appealed to us. We liked the residences and the program, and it's in a wooded environment. They have a woodworking shop, a ceramic studio, music programs, a swimming pool, exercising, gardens, and hiking trails in the woods. The food was very nice.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
Very dissapointing over the years. Large turnover over last year. Seem
to be more concerned with building and selling more units then actual medical care and quality of some of the staff.
Have 1 doctor that works 3 days a week 4-5 hours each day. There are approx 240 residents. Food service is except for a couple people seems rude. Many residents are unhappy with things but do not have anywhere else to go and family is not around so they do not want to complain even for the amount that they are paying.

Broadmead was excellent. It was very good. The visit was very thorough. They had a nice orientation. We did see some of the units. We like it, but it is in a very congested area. It is very convenient to everything. However, you have to walk outside to get to all the activities.

My mother has been a resident of Broadmead Retirement Community since June 2012. We have been thoroughly impressed and very pleased at the care level with the nurses, and caregivers. Also, the activities available are awesome. Additionally, the Physical Therapy options are numerous; exercise classes daily. We've had experience with other facilities; Broadmead shines above all others. We're grateful daily for the superb care, and importantly the response to individual needs.

Broadmead invited me to visit them, and my visit there was fine. The staff was excellent. The food was very good. I looked at one- and two-bedrooms, and they were quite spacious. They had a lot of activities. They had gardening, woodworking, trips, book clubs, and all kinds of things. I wish I could move in there now. I would recommend them to others, but the problem was being able to afford it.

Broadmead Retirement Community was a wonderful place for my mother. She enjoyed going to the dining area and interacting with its wonderful staff. She even loved the food. The medical technicians, housekeeping, drivers were all friendly, competent, and professional. . She enjoyed the many activities provided, and the friends that she made. I was very glad that she was able to have this lovely experience in the latter stages of her life. As my mother's needs changed and adjustments had to be made to her care, the administrative staff responded promptly and appropriately. I always knew that she was being very well cared for.

Beautiful Facility. Beautiful Dinning area. Beautiful apartments. Really nice staff. Great recreational activities and theraputic activities. The residents at Broadmead can stay as busy as they like. I recomend stopping in anonymously and peak around. You may be satisfied. Also take into account that this area is a more wealthy area of Baltimore County.

Broadmead is a wonderful place that our grandmother raves about constantly! The staff truly went out of their way to make her feel welcome, and it didn't stop there. She always tells us how friendly and helpful everyone is to her, and how she has met some wonderful residents that she now calls friends. She raves about the staff and the delicious meals she gets in the dining room, she says she loves getting her hair done in the salon, and always tells us how helpful and warm the front desk and office staff are to her. She was reluctant to move to Broadmead, but now she says she wishes she found it sooner. We are so happy that she is happy and enjoying this stage in her life surrounded by wonderful people and living in such a pleasant atmosphere. My husband and I wish we could move in! We would definitely recommend Broadmead to anyone looking for a retirement community that is definitely 5 stars!

I toured Broadmead recently and it was great, and I really liked the community. However, I am not quite old enough yet to move in but will when the time comes.
