Our experience has been just awful. These nurses do not come in the room when you push the button. If you push the button too much…they will unplug it. They will also make comments about what you are watching and they definitely don’t like Trump.
Lots of issues with getting the correct medication.
Extremely unethical and unprofessional practice.

The only good thing about this place is the therapy unit. Food is cold and not health for the residences. The upper management is useless when approached they deny anything that is brought to there attention. They can’t wait to tell you how long they have been there but, maybe that is the whole problem with this place. They feel they are above doing the right thing for the residences.

Aides run the floor they tell you when to go to the bathroom now or I will not be back to change you until later!
Thay leave people in bed , no showers are given to people.
Food is the worst people here have ever seen. Some of it is not even able to be eaten.
You ask to speak to someone in charge they usually never show up.
They have no actives for the residents, no books to read, they can not go out and walk in front of the building those that are able to go out.
Do not bring your love one here.

Don’t let this place fool you with the lovely facility and five star hotel interiors. The care is terrible. My mom was admitted and while there she got Covid so that delayed the PT for ten days. They claim they did PT in her room, false! We visit daily and at numerous times during the day. Twenty min of PT is NOT ENOUGH! They would pick her up for PT and park her in the PT room and if they did PT for twenty minutes I would say is accurate. They discharged her in worse condition than when she was admitted. Two days from being admitted. She was admitted to the hospital and fell. We told them we needed mom to be able to walk as she was prior to being admitted to hospital. If a family member is not present when the pt rings the bell they never get seen and sit in urine. The Physicians are terrible they seldom can remember the pt name, the nurses are spread thin and if you find one they tell you that your family member is not their patient. This place is a joke! Do not admit you family member to this place!

Let me start with the COVID Ward. The entrance is horrible. There were red contaminated containers outside with stuff in them. The sidewalk in is a accident hazard. When I entered I saw a makeshift area sectioned off with a plastic wall. 10 days in that area was awful. The Communication among the staff is horrible. The general population rooms and area is less than desirable. It looks like the facility is old and appears to not have been upgraded since they opened. When discharged they just walked in and said patient is being discharged today. Good thing you came to visit today. Overall I would not recommend Ocoee Health & Rehabilitation.

First and foremost, this place is awful. Although the therapy helped my mother, the nursing staff and others didn’t do their jobs very well. There were a number of issues while my mother was there, but the ones that stick out the most for me…… my mother had to remind the nurses to give her the medications her doctor prescribed for her, check her vitals and left her in the bathroom for extended periods of time without checking on her. It would take forever for someone to come and check on my mom when she would ask for assistance. We choice this facility as it was close to my mother’s home and convenient for family members to visit her. So…just warning you this place is truly awful.

Financial Assistance for Nursing Home Care in Winter Garden, FL
Many seniors and their families use some form of financial assistance to help them pay for nursing care. The main options available are Medicare, Medicaid, and veterans benefits. These programs can be complicated, especially when it comes to benefit terms. Below, we give a brief overview of how these programs may be used towards paying for skilled nursing care.
- Medicare: Medicare will typically cover all skilled nursing costs for the first 20 days of one’s stay in a nursing home and a portion of the costs until day 100. After 100 days in a skilled nursing facility, Medicare will not cover any part of the cost of the stay. While this is adequate when short-term care is needed, those in need of long-term care will need to either pay out-of-pocket or use another source of financial assistance.
- Medicaid: Medicaid covers most of the costs of living in a skilled nursing facility for those who qualify. Care, room, and board are covered with no time limit, but residents may be charged for extras like specially prepared food or cosmetic services. Medicaid eligibility standards are strict and complex, so not all seniors are eligible for Medicaid benefits.
- Veterans Benefits: Veterans receiving a VA pension may also be eligible for the Aid and Attendance benefit administered by the VA. Aid and Attendance is a monthly allowance that beneficiaries may use to pay for their long-term care, including skilled nursing care.
If these options aren’t available to you, check if your loved one has long-term care insurance or contact your Area Agency on Aging to ask about any local financial assistance programs for seniors.
