My father did short-term therapy and made a very good comeback and he is home on his own again. He was at Apopka Health and Rehabilitation Center. They helped him with his balance, his walking, and getting up and down. He couldn't get out of the hospital bed when he left without assistance, and then after one week he was able to walk with the walker and get out of bed. After two weeks he was able to walk without the walker, and on the third week he was able get up and down out of a chair by himself with no help. At Christmas time, he came to our house, and he couldn't get off the couch without assistance. On New Year's Day, he was like, "Look, what I can do," and he got off the couch all by himself. No problems, so they helped him with all his strength and balance. They did rehab every day for two hours in the rehab center, and then every evening a therapist came to his room with hand weights, and they did weights from the chair and the bed. So, he got rehab twice a day. The staff was excellent. Everybody was super friendly and super nice. The facility is beautiful. It's actually pretty new. It's only five years old. I have not tried the food, but he said everything was very good. The rooms were great. He had a shared room, but it was separated by a fairly significant common area and a curtain. They shared a bathroom. He was free to come and go. We were able to pick him up and take him. They have a hair salon, two or three dining rooms, a movie theater, and separate living room areas with couches, chairs, and tables that we could take them to when we wanted to see them. We can walk down to the living room area and sit on the couch and relax and watch TV with them. It was very nice and clean there. They have a schedule of activities every day from 9:00 in the morning until 6:00 at night every day. I think my father participated in some stuff, but I don't know exactly. I don't know what it cost, but it was money well spent. Literally every time we would see him, he would say, "Thank you for giving me this place. Thank you." He was very appreciative that he was there.

Rooms are nice, beds are small,staff for the most part do not provide any service.i sat on the camode for over 30 minutes several times.the call button for the most part just lights up .i waited over 3 hours once most responces for the most part are 30 minutes or more.there are some theripists that are great.Pt And Ot all these people are great.without there greatnes this place would go under.one of the worst stays ive ever had.

My mom is currently in Apopka Health and Rehabilitation Center. The walk-through went great. It's a nice and clean facility. It looked well-maintained. The rooms were clean and organized. Their staffing was OK. It was just like every other nursing center, where everyone was a little low on nurses. The food is manageable, I didn't eat it but my mom didn't care for it. In terms of value, it's really expensive.
