"My husband was at West Valley Healthcare Center. Overall, it was a good place for him to be. The staff was very enthusiastic and cheerful. The facility was very clean. They have a good size parking lot, which is helpful when you're visiting. "

My Mom loved Flor. Miss Edna the manager was excellent, wonderful and caring anytime I needed to call my Mom she was on it. "My friend is in Royal Congregate Living. I've only been there once or twice. From the other nursing homes that I've been to, I thought it was very nice. It was fairly clean. The staff was very nice, and they've always been very nice to me. She's in a shared room. One of her complaints is that they are not giving her any physical therapy, although she's very limited. I know in the beginning, they tried to get her into a wheelchair and stuff, but she's very limited. Even when she went in, she couldn't bend her knees. She had spinal cord damage, and they were limited in what they could work with. They didn't have very much of a courtyard. They just had one little room where there was a TV. It was not the best."

"Out of the couple of times I visited Heartland Home Residential, it was very, very quiet. It’s spotlessly clean. The facility has a license for 6 patients and 4 of them have Alzheimer's. These women sit on a couch all day long and they’re not up and doing anything, so my mom is lonely. In that respect, it was probably not a good choice. She basically sits in her chair and we finally had to say if they can at least get her up, get her walking and get her moving. She’s still able to walk, and they don’t even do that. She likes breakfast and lunch, but she does not like the dinners at all. She says it’s processed and packaged food. There aren't many home-cooked meals. I see fruit and vegetables when I’m there, but as far as the main course, she says she sees a lot of things come out of a package. The owner is absolutely wonderful. She comes in and talks to my mom quite a bit. She is just delightful. I have never had a problem with the staff. They’ve always been very, very nice and caring, but the main problem is that they don’t do any activities at all. "

"The staff is skilled and caring, the facility is clean and nicely decorated, the communication with family is reliable and the coordination with other providers is smooth. This place is run by Saints. My mother was in great hands the entire time."

"The staff at the Woodland Hills Motion Picture and TV Fund were very welcoming and warm. While the place did tend to have the typical "assited living home" smell the place was clean. There was no trash and everything had looked washed. The people who lived there seemed happy and seemed to enjoy the place. The facility seemed like it was well managed and the outside was beautifully landscaped and maintained. Right near Calabasas, this place was in a very upscale neighborhood. The people who lived there seemed to immediately get help when they ask for it and receive quality care at this facility. The food seemed to be well prepared and the people who lived there seemed to appreciate it. Overall the entire experience was an interesting look into a facility that I didn't know much about. I think it's a nice place and that the people generally enjoy living there. I also want to add the place is always kept up nice for the holidays. There are decorations and fun stuff galore. "

"My father-in-law stayed in the acute rehab unit of Los Robles, and it was very good. The physicians, nurses, assistants, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and all other staff members were very good. He was by himself. His room was very good; it was quite spacious and comfortable. Because he had a lot of dietary restrictions, meals were made to fit his dietary needs, and that was very good. They had some group activities, but my father-in-law was not up to participating in anything. "

"I like this facility is because we can coming for visit anytime of the day and we can bring in foods for our relative and feed them. The staffs are very friendly and nice. I saw them many times that they help the elders seem like their own family member. There was one time i witnessed they were helping my grandma doing #2 and #1. They patiently clean up the hold process which make us feel appreciated and confident for our grandma to stay. We have asked our grandma a lot if there were ever happened that any elderly abusive in the facility and she responded "NO". That's the reason why we never transfer our grandma to another facility. Most of the time we stopped by we saw the staffs went around and do the clean up. The only thing we would like the facility to do is to remodel the inside a little bit because it looks kinda old and a little smell. "

"When we took my wife to the doctor, she couldn’t stand up or walk at all, and they transferred her over to Los Angeles Jewish Home For the Aging for a time to rest up and for occupational and physical therapy: one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The physical therapy was primary walking exercise and in the afternoon occupational, she was doing sitting exercises and moving her arms. They kept the place very clean and well-maintained. "

"My elderly mother was transferred to Magnolia Gardens after a recent fall. Within two months following her admission to Magnolia Gardens, with a well-planned physiotherapy programme delivered by highly skilled staff, she was able to walk out of the centre unaided. During the same period my father was also transferred from the hospital to Magnolia Centre. The staff and management worked hard to make sure they were put together in the same room. This meant so much to me and my family. By mid-August both parents were well enough to leave the facility, full of praise for the staff and management. I would once again like to thank the senior management and the staff for all their help, support and compassion that they showed during my parents’ stay. "

"The rehab staff at The Center at Park West was nice. They seemed to offer a lot of rehab like if they needed to walk with a walker or anything like that until they got to where they can walk on their own or walk to where they got out or can leave. They would offer that. They would work with them on speech. My husband had strokes and he was in there. Everything was really good except for one-night nurse who didn't care about anybody. All she wanted was just to sleep and that was it. Other than that, it was good, all except for that lady. Mostly the day staff seemed caring. They tried to make sure that my husband would walk to the restroom because he wanted to try to do it himself. It was average. The food was decent at the time. They had activities if they weren't doing any kind of therapy for them that they needed. They tried to play a game with certain groups."

"My mom moved into the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging-Eisenberg Village. They have doctors and nurses. They put each person according to their health or mental health, if they have dementia or anything like that. They have a lot of activities. They have hair salons and nail shops. The food is good. They have a church and a temple for all other religions. They have services, and they have music. We tasted the food once because they invited us before she went in, and it was good. My mother is 92 years old, so she's on a special diet, and they take care of her according to her diet. The facility is very clean. They have games, dances, and exercise. It's worth it, and they accept government subsidies like Medicare."
