"Camarillo Healthcare Center is really nice, and the people are helpful. My parents don't have any problems. We see most of the staff talking to patients, especially those for long-term care. I would recommend them to anybody because their care is really good. "

"My mother was very happy at Mary Health of the Sick. It's a very wonderful health community. There are several nuns that are nurses and also lay people as staff. They are friendly, loving and very nurturing. The place is spotless and many rooms have garden views. The gardens are beautiful with flowers, orange and grapefruit trees and fish ponds with big gold fish. It's like one step from heaven that's why we wanted our mother there. The food was excellent and very much catered to seniors. The sandwiches and egg and tuna salad are soft so they're easy to chew, while fish, chicken and beef are cut small and with gravy if you want. They have a lot of activities like watching big screen television, puzzles and playing cards and they also have holiday activities. I would absolutely recommend the place. It's very difficult to get in there, so I suggest you put your name down early. "

"The staff here were so friendly. My mom was here for almost a month for rehab and she’s back home doing well. No complaints, food was pretty good it’s clean there, was a little loud at night….but overall I’d definitely recommend you go here for therapy."

"My significant other is actually in Windsor Terrace of Westlake Village right now. He needed nursing care because he has dementia and cannot remember what to take, and if he doesn’t have that nursing care, he ends up in the hospital. The service is not excellent but good. He does not have any problem; he gets his meds and his food, and that keeps him very stable. The staff is good. He’s got a number of illnesses, so he must have his meds, and they seem to be controlling everything. "

"My father-in-law stayed in the acute rehab unit of Los Robles, and it was very good. The physicians, nurses, assistants, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and all other staff members were very good. He was by himself. His room was very good; it was quite spacious and comfortable. Because he had a lot of dietary restrictions, meals were made to fit his dietary needs, and that was very good. They had some group activities, but my father-in-law was not up to participating in anything. "

"St. John's Rehab is excellent. The therapists are very skilled & able to relate to their patients with care and good personal therapy. I had a stroke & was unable to use my left side of my body. With the help of the complete staff at St. John's rehab, doctors, nurses, therapists & other staff helped me heal & improve & be motivated to succeed in my recovery. I appreciate the fine care I received. And the courteousness to my wife was very important. When I arrived I could barely talk & when I left they said I talked too much. I am a people person. I would highly recommend to anyone with the needs of a rehab to go to St. John's facility.. "

"Lovely environment and a surprise when we went in side. Home like atmosphere and the people living there told us the food is good and they get great care. Know a couple of people who reside at Los Robles Care Center who have not one complaint. (surprising too) "

"I arrived with my friend when he was admitted. He was met by the admission person who addressed him by (Mr.) and his name. This staff member was polite and asked permission to ask my friend a few questions. After a few questions the person began to describe what my friend was to expect for his stay at Glenwood. He was introduced to his care giver who assisted him into his room. The admission person and charge nurse were very kind. While I was there the administrator and director of nursing also paid my friend a visit. The wanted to make sure he was comfortable and to let him know if he had any concerns that their doors were open. I made several visits to my friend at Glenwood Care Center and each time I found the staff to be friendly and responsive to my friends needs. I met the physical specialist and the person for activities. They to were nice and my friend seemed to enjoy their company although he didn't like physical therapy.I had heard bad things about other nursing facilities but the only thing that bothered me about Glenwood was it did have a different odor, not bad but noticeable. "

"Everything about Victoria Care Center was very good. The staff was good. The office personnel were good. The nurses were good. The physical therapy was good. I don't have any complaint. Everything was fine. The room was good. The dining area was fine. "

"It is a toss-up between Coastal View and the other place. For activities, they get to go outside, they have different physical activities, and they have drawing time where everybody can participate. There are all kinds of different small activities. It is mostly physical therapy. The staff is on you 24/7. They provide everything. The food is not bad. Depending on the requirements of the patients and the doctor's advisement, the food is OK. It is little on the bland side, but the taste depends on the physician and the diet that is recommended. The place is clean and presentable. I would trust them with my wife. She had been there twice for rehab. The staff members are on the ball. I would give them credit for that. However, the place is older and their air-conditioning is not adequate enough for the elderly."

"This is a 2 star facility, but after visiting dozens of times, I don't see how it is not a 1 star facility. Many of the nurses and cna's are indifferent and un-empathetic to patients. My family member regularly had to wait 1+ hrs after requesting pain medication (even though he was scheduled to receive it earlier). Call bells constantly ringing while employees hang out at the nurses station. If I dare questioned anything, more often than not I was addressed in a rude manner. I spoke with many patients during my visits to Oxnard Manor. It also seems as though they somehow bring patients to believe they have no choice in when they go home. I spoke with numerous residents that would say they are "stuck here" and want to go home but are threatened that if they leave before the facility agrees, they'd be documented as leaving "AMA" (against medical advice) which can lead Medicare to denying certain services after you leave. This facility also has a large number of homeless patients and patients with mental diagnoses, who need a lot if help from the social worker, but instead are given the run around and kept in the facility for as long as possible. On a positive note, the therapy was good, and the therapists who worked with my father were caring and understanding and worked with my father to get him stronger and walking better so that we could bring him home. Despite therapy saying he could go home and continue therapy at home, it was like pulling teeth to get his discharge expedited with nursing. I would not return to this facility unless it was my only option. "

"Ventura Post Acute was OK but understaffed. The people at the logistics and the ones setting up transportation for doctors appointments were great and super helpful. I had cookies that were good."

"Chatsworth Park Health Care Center is a nice community. They're really taking good care of my father. They're very organized, but their food is not as good as other places. This place is wonderful. They have activities and the people there play the piano."
