"I have been a resident for a few years. I enjoy living here. I enjoy my apartment, my balcony, the pool, the common areas, the activities, the facility's gardens, and the views. The staff persons are always polite and eager to please. The location is outstanding - "The Lakes" across the street with shops and restaurants, the "Gardens of the World" up the boulevard, the "Civic Arts Center" nearby. However, on the negative side, the food service has been declining during the last few months. The quality, quantity, and variety is not as great as it was. At times, the meat is tough, the selection has lessened, and the food is not always served hot. Food is a prime concern since we indulge three times daily. I am under the impression the food budget has been cut. This situation can be resolved, and hopefully will be given some attention. In conclusion, I am happy that I made the decision to live here. I have seen other facilities. Grand Oaks is the best. "

"Oakmont of Simi Valley seemed very nice. They had a neat little window box outside of every room in the memory care where family could put items that belonged to that person, like an award, pictures of grandchildren, or something they made. They also had a huge radius where they would transport their residents for free. Everyone we encountered was very nice. Their food was delicious. They're gourmet. And they have a proprietary beverage with their own label on it that their chefs come up with. It was like an apple drink, and it was very good and all organic. The structure of the building was beautiful, too. They had activities going on in different rooms."

"My aunt and uncle like the Varenita of Simi Valley very much. The food is top-notch gourmet. The staff members are very observant and very caring. We have been impressed with their attentiveness to the residents. For instance, my aunt had ordered shrimp served on a bed of fettuccine. She has Parkinson's so she had trouble cutting the shrimp to bite-sized pieces. Someone noticed it and said, 'Would you like some help with that, ma'am?' She said, 'Sure.' So little things like that make a big difference. The staff members are very friendly. Everybody from the maintenance guys to the front desk, to the aides that come, and to the nurse that comes to deliver the meds are all fabulous. Everybody in the dining area is fabulous, too. Even the guy that does the table is great. They have a bunch of entertainment and activities. I haven't observed much in that regard, but I've seen some of the musical groups that come and perform. My aunt and uncle are still getting settled in, but I know they'll participate more once they get settled in. They get a list every day of what's going on, and the list seems nice. You get what you pay for. They also have appliances in their room. They have a refrigerator, a microwave, a little two-burner cooktop, and a stackable washer and dryer. If they choose, they could do their weekly laundry on a regular basis. If they need something from a pharmacy, the CVS is right there with other restaurants. They have an in-house salon, and there are some shopping centers that they can walk to, so it's also unique in that regard."

"I visited this facility about six months ago on a fact-finding mission related to my father's future care. I picked this facility as my father lived in this community for about 35 years and is comfortable with its surroundings. From the outside of the building and parking lot, the facility looks like a 5 star golfing resort as it is nestled up against a beautiful golf course. The grounds are quite beautiful with pathways and benches that are plentiful. In no way does this facility look like a care facility. On entering the lobby it appears very comfortable and homey. The receptionist has a companion dog that was lying on the floor near the desk and was friendly to all that arrived.The staff gave me a complete tour including introducing me to several residents, with a few proudly showing off their rooms. There seemed to be a wonderful sense of pride and community with the residents and they all seemed happy, independent and well cared for.The dining rooms, recreation rooms, sitting areas and multimedia rooms were all immaculate and beautifully decorated in a comfortable and inviting way.I was impressed with the staff members as I met them along the way including maintenance, kitchen and office staff.The director stressed the types of services available and how we could graduate to different levels of assistance as needed. She invited me back with my father to enjoy a lunch or dinner and to meet other residents.Overall this is a very well managed, clean and comfortable facility with a great deal to offer its residents. "

"My dad is now at Oakmont of Camarillo. It's lovely and it's brand new. Everything has been top-rated. It has been very good. The food is excellent and there are all kinds of activities. There's exercise classes, games, and field trips. They have been on lockdown. My dad hadn't really gotten too settled before the lockdown, but his apartment is lovely and brand new. Because it is his own furniture, it feels like home. Everybody has been very good."

"It was beautifully laid out. The tour guide, Jodi, was really good. The dining area looked nice, but the only thing we didn't like about it was the assigned feeding schedule. They had a concert going on when we were there."

"My Mom has been living in one of their beautiful residential senior homes for two years and really loves it there. Instead of a huge senior facility, this place is a nice residential home with 2-3 caregivers available all the time with only 5-6 residents in a home. They receive very personalized care in this setting and my Mom enjoys her other housemates. They have nice meals at the dining room table together and you can have a private or shared bedroom. They take them outside for walks and have little activities for them inside. This facility kept everyone very safe during Covid. I did a lot of research before placing my Mom into a new environment coming from her own home of 45 years and this was the perfect fit. Much more affordable as well. "

"We toured Oakmont of Agoura Hills. The one who took us through was lovely, very enthusiastic, and couldn't have been more helpful. She showed us all the different types of rooms and showed us all the activities. Everyone seemed very engaged. It was just lovely. Their atrium is beautiful. They have activities all day long. You can participate in them or not. The rooms were quite large and really, really well done. We saw some that people had decorated. They were actually nicer than the ones I saw at the other community. These were lovely. They had a very nice dining room. I think there were two different dining rooms. Parking seemed fine to me. We just pulled in, and it was fine."

"Atria Las Posas was a great facility with great people. I just could not afford it. The sales director was very knowledgeable, very nice, and very personable. It was a very pleasant experience touring it. Their dining area had a restaurant setup. Their one-bedroom with a balcony would be a very desirable option for me. It's a very active community. I saw people out and about in the courtyard and one of the rooms with the balcony, I saw a neighbor that lives out there with the dog. They were very communicative, very nice, and very personable, too. The grounds were very nice, very well-appointed, and very well cared for."

"Meadowbrook Senior Living was my favorite, and it was the nicest. The staff was very informative, and the residents seemed very happy. The only negative for my mother was they had seated meals, and you don't have a full kitchen there. You will eat dinner at 5:30 or 6:30, lunch at 11:30 or 12:30, and breakfast at 8:00 or 9:00, and she doesn't like that. However, the actual physical outlay is really nice, and it's brand-new practically. "

"This retirement home is incredible! It really does feel like home, a fairly small facility that accomodates several seniors at a time, with great staff that give their residents lots of care and attention. I live not far from West Hills so I could visit frequently, and the place was always well-organized and the residents well-occupied and cared for. Oh and my grandma couldn`t stop raving about the food too!"
