"Vista at Simi Valley has been transformed. My friend's mother has lived there for several months and she is raving about the place. She tells me that, since new management took over several months ago, the care is superb, food is great, activities plentiful. Apparently, better than ever. "Atria Hillcrest is very nicely laid out and has a kind of quiet place. It's easy to get into and out of. The food was good, and it seemed it offered less regimented meals. You had a little bit more possibility for taking meals differently at the regular times. The rooms are small but comfortable-looking. It's pricey especially if you're looking for 2-bedrooms. You're limited to one car. "

"We're interested in the Sage Mountain Senior Living. I love Sage Mountain. It's beautiful. The people there are so nice. They're so understanding and they were very thorough with all my questions. They're always there if I have a question and need to call them; the communication is fantastic. Everything there was clean, it's new, and very accommodating. When you walk in it, you just get a friendly vibe right away. It's a place where I definitely would put my mom and feel comfortable knowing she's safe. When I did meet there and take a tour, I was given some samples of some pumpkin bread, and everything was fantastic, fresh, tasty, very clean. I would definitely recommend the food."

"We’ve had mother here for a couple of months. I think it’s an excellent facility. Everybody is extremely nice, and they’re conscientious. The physical therapy people are excellent. They have good food in restaurants. Everything about it is as well as you could possibly expect, so I would recommend it. It’s very clean. She’s in a semi-private room with 2 people in it. They have entertainers come in. They have a lot going on, so it’s very nice. Overall, everything about the facility is excellent. Once a while, things don’t go exactly like it should, but it’s not that much. "

"We have decided on Atria Grand Oaks. It is wonderful. It's where my aunt wanted to be and where I would want to be, too. The rooms are the largest of all the places we have seen. The staff is very friendly and very nice. The food is fantastic, and you can order anything you want at any time or you can have the entrée or the sald bar. It is like a cruise ship. They have central heating and cooling, rather than wall units, so it's very quiet. Everything about it is first class and done right. She will be in independent living, and then if she needs assistance down the road, that is also available, which is really nice because you don’t have to worry about moving again. They have a pool and a dedicated movie theater, plus movies twice a day in their theater. They have a black car service that you can reserve if you want to go to the pharmacy, grocery store, or whatever you want to do. "

"I visited Oakmont of Simi Valley on behalf of a family member to learn more about the memory care services it provides for Alzheimer’s residents. I met with the director of the facility and a number of members of the memory care staff. Everyone was very helpful, forthright and informative. The marketing coordinator, Cristina, was especially patient and professional in answering all of my questions concerning the operation of the facility, and in providing multiple tours. The monthly charges appeared to me to be reasonable in comparison to other memory care facilities. I was also impressed with the physical layout of the facility, which included ample walking space, activity areas, pleasant dining areas and a large outside courtyard. The residents appeared to be well supervised and occupied with activities at the times that I visited. Ultimately, however, I decided that my relative’s present condition was not conducive to a move, but Oakmont of Simi Valley would definitely be number one on my list, if that move becomes feasible in the future."

"My mother moved into Caccam's Stanton Residence. The care they provide to her is great, and we're very happy. The staff who work there is great, we're very pleased with all of them. Her room and the whole community are clean. If family members visit, they have a living room or they can go to their room."

"My aunt and uncle like the Varenita of Simi Valley very much. The food is top-notch gourmet. The staff members are very observant and very caring. We have been impressed with their attentiveness to the residents. For instance, my aunt had ordered shrimp served on a bed of fettuccine. She has Parkinson's so she had trouble cutting the shrimp to bite-sized pieces. Someone noticed it and said, 'Would you like some help with that, ma'am?' She said, 'Sure.' So little things like that make a big difference. The staff members are very friendly. Everybody from the maintenance guys to the front desk, to the aides that come, and to the nurse that comes to deliver the meds are all fabulous. Everybody in the dining area is fabulous, too. Even the guy that does the table is great. They have a bunch of entertainment and activities. I haven't observed much in that regard, but I've seen some of the musical groups that come and perform. My aunt and uncle are still getting settled in, but I know they'll participate more once they get settled in. They get a list every day of what's going on, and the list seems nice. You get what you pay for. They also have appliances in their room. They have a refrigerator, a microwave, a little two-burner cooktop, and a stackable washer and dryer. If they choose, they could do their weekly laundry on a regular basis. If they need something from a pharmacy, the CVS is right there with other restaurants. They have an in-house salon, and there are some shopping centers that they can walk to, so it's also unique in that regard."
