"The Atria Las Posas community was just immaculate. The lady who came to give us the tour was right with us, answered all our questions, and gave all three of us information. We had lunch there, and the chef came out and talked to us, the food was very tasty, and the plates looked pretty. I looked around everyone else was eating that too, not just us. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and the people were just wonderful."

"I visited my friends in this place. It's a very nice place. They don't have apartments -- they just had one room, which is a lot more limiting. But otherwise, it seems nice. I've been there for meals, and it was good. They have entertainment. It has a little friendlier atmosphere about it. "

"Home Care of West Hills, LLC #2 was close to where I live and that is good. What I liked about it was that it had just about everything that my wife would need. They're very friendly and they seem to know enough about taking care of old people. They were very nice and informative. They have a little porch in the backyard where they can go out and eat. They also play some games, like card games. There's no exercise or anything like that. Then they have a dining area (one inside and one outside). From what I saw, the facility looked very clean. One of the girls was with a mop and a bucket when I got there."

"It is in a pleasant and rich looking area. It is a big white building with pillars in front of it. It is very pleasant and very clean. My mother is Jewish, she wanted some elderly Jewish people to talk to, and it is 86% Jewish. It is very big, very nice, and very expensive. My mother is very happy with the service she gets. She has not participated in any activities yet because she is 96 and she doesn't like to go out much anymore, but the activities they have are games like board games and card games. They take the ladies to a movie theater once in a while. The dining room is very nice. They have two different sessions for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She likes the food. I ate there once or twice, and the food is very pleasant and very nice."

"Clearwater at Riverpark is fairly new. The staff is very nice. My sister's room is nice and comfortable sized. It's very nice inside and outside. They've got good grounds. She likes the food very much. They have a weight room and an exercise room, and all the exercise equipment and all the appliances in the room are first class. I was surprised with the quality of everything they have there."

"Mom has been in Avantgarde since November 2012. It's a place that focuses on memory care, so they have a lot of activities like jewelry making and other art classes. They have volunteers that comes in, a guitarist that comes in once a month to sing folk songs to the residents, and they do a lot of extra activities. The staff is very caring, especially the day shift. They tend to give a lot more time to give personal care, so I like the care and the people that work there. Since we put my mom in Avantgarde, we haven't seen any problems and she seems settled there. She's always participating to have exercise every morning. It has been pretty good. "

"At Cypress Place Independent Living, they separate the facility based on whether you need any form of care or independent-living. The people that were there were more people that wanted to be able to have some say about what happened in their part of the facility because they are separated. They wanted to be able to have more independence, so it wasn’t a good fit for us. If you don’t want to live where there’s a mix of ages and needs, it would maybe be a better fit for somebody. It was nice but a little bit older looking and a little bit darker inside, and knowing what my mom was looking for, she needed light and bright to feel good. Their big common area, other than the dining room, was a little bit better. We went to see a couple of the rooms, and from what I can tell, they were clean, maintained, and kept up. I didn’t care for the parking because a lot of the parking is for the clients that live there or for one guest, so you have to find parking sometimes on the street or they back some restaurants right behind them because they’re off of a main street and you have to use some of the public parking. You would be able to access shopping and restaurants from there. They offer shuttles and services to get you to places. "

"The Lexington seemed a little more like a hotel than a home, and the people didn’t seem happy there. The staff seemed to be good, but the rooms are really small. "

"Ventura TowneHouse was a great place, but the location did not work for us. It was several stories tall. It had lots of activities, and the food was great. "

"Westmont Culver City is very nice and it's brand new. My mother has a one-bedroom, one-bath, and it's nice. I highly recommend it. The staff is great. They have a gym, chair aerobics for everybody, a movie theater, a restaurant, a courtyard, front and back entrances, private elevators, you have to use the key to get in, and front desk staff. She doesn't like the food that much."

"Everything at Palm Court was excellent. The apartments were beautiful. They had a movie theater, a fitness room, arts and crafts room, and all kinds of activities, like a walking club and all kinds of other things. "
