My Most Positive Experience at University Village Thousand Oaks (UVTO) I first heard of UVTO from my sister about four years ago when she and her late husband began to look for a retirement community. My sister and her husband completed a very thorough search of retirement communities before choosing UVTO. They downsized from their three-bedroom home, in Thousand Oaks and moved to UVTO, a little over two years ago. And they were most pleased with their new home. I called my sister very regularly and she was very proud that they made the perfect choice. Their friends and relatives would visit them frequently and my sister was delighted by how impressed these visitors were with the ambiance of the facility. This included the pleasant spacious campus, the many facilities including the entertainment and dining options that were available to residents and their visitors. UVTO’s real “help” was realized when my brother-in-law was hospitalized in the fall of 2023. The management ensured that he was safely and comfortably transported to the hospital. In addition, they got caregivers 24/7 to be with my sister while her husband was being treated. Unfortunately, my brother-in-law succumbed to his illness and passed away. My sister was distraught and, during this difficult time, the UVTO staff were most diligent in their care for her. They: 1. Made sure my sister took her medication on a regular and timely basis. 2. Brought three meals daily to her apartment. 3. Introduced us to care-givers who were with her 24/7. 4. Encouraged her to go on outings on a regular basis. I, personally, have seen the excellent living conditions. And more importantly, the care and attention to detail the UVTO staff extend to their residents. I first visited UVTO last December, after my brother-in-law passed away. It was clear to me that this welcoming and warm atmosphere flows from the top down. The facilities are immaculate, and all staff are, polite, kind, attentive and bend over backwards for the residents in their care. To put it concisely, UVTO, under promise and over deliver!

University Village Thousand Oaks is very beautiful. It's like living in a resort. It's a lovely combination between the natural surrounding nature and the beautifully-manicured grounds with a koi pond. It's just truly lovely. They provide 1 meal a day. If that's what you want, I don't think it gets better than that. They take meticulous care of the people. Some of them are professionals like doctors and dentists who live there. They have high-end clientele. I met the gentleman who took us on a tour. They also have nice PR things that you can look at online. They really pride themselves for going above and beyond. We weren't able to try the food because of COVID, but we were invited to come back. The food is beautiful when you look online to see the dishes. They have 1 dining area that's upscale and healthy. Then they have something that's like a diner. If people wanted food like hamburgers and French fries, they can get that too.

Visiting UVTO was like visiting a five star resort. The property and views from all the windows are beautiful. Lisa was so informative and friendly and explained every part of the facility. The lunch was delicious. All staff members we so friendly and cheerful. From the putting greens to the tennis courts and from the beautiful residences to the pool, every area was pristine. There are so many amenities you will be amazed. AAA+++ rating

I've gone to programs at University Village and toured that place. They're extremely gracious. I was extremely impressed by the efficiency of the staff during the tour. It was like going in to a Michelin Hotel; everything was spotlessly clean, and the landscaping was fantastic. Everybody I sent there had nothing but words of praise for it.

University Village is gorgeous, extremely refined, and upscale. The people running it are well bred. It's an extremely expensive community with an excellent staff. I saw a woman leading painting class and a room they used as a studio. They gave me a lovely lunch, which was more like a dinner, that was excellent. The dining area was beautifully appointed with white tablecloths and linen napkins.

We visited University Village Thousand Oaks. The food was absolutely marvelous. They had an arrangement where you have to buy-in, but they refund some of it after five years. It had more facilities than anybody else including a nursing facility and a separate facility for dementia. They had a swimming pool, a dog park, a putting green, and a walkway. It's gated with a guard 24/7, so if you want to get up at 2:00 a.m. and walk around there, there isn't a problem. All the walkways are lighted at night. The visit was outstanding.

My brother-in-law likes University Village very well and has put in a deposit already. The rooms are almost double in size. The layout of the facility is wonderful. Everything is easy to get to. They have 4 levels of care. It is only two miles from the hospital. They have a town car that takes residents on any medical appointments which was free. The food is outstanding.

I'm living in University Village Thousand Oaks. The people are wonderful and the community is great. They do everything for you. They have an on campus rehab, a salon, gym, community center, transportation and we have entertainment constantly. The community is wonderful and beautifully kept. I got everything I want here. I am very happy.

What impressed me most about University Village was how elegant looking the place was. It was a beautiful facility, like a 5-star hotel. It was in a very beautiful location where it was a little cooler than in the valley. Their rooms were small. They did have separate houses too. We had lunch in their dining room and it was just exquisite. The staff who walked us around and showed us different areas, she was very good. However, we didn't really meet any of their working staff. They did have activities but I didn't know any specifically. Overall, this facility was wonderful. It felt like you're going around a resort. However, it was expensive to live there.

University Village is a retirement community. It's large and near the California Lutheran University. It's a very nice facility but it's also high end as far as cost goes. The facility is full and you'll be put on a waiting list but if it is within my budget this is where I will go.

UVTO, as it has come to be known in our household, is a beautiful facility with a large sprawling campus. The residents range from those seeking independent living houses to those needing assisted living and memory care. The dining facilities are lovely and the food is good quality. The sales staff was incredibly warm and thoughtful during the sales process, however, once the deposit was paid, things swung a bit to the less-good side. Suddenly my inlaws were being pressured to accept accomodations which were more expensive than they wanted and were being scared into thinking the units they preferred could be unavailable for many months. This would require yet another medical review. People in their 80s don't like that. They are constatntly thinking of the status of their health and generally thinking the status will go down over time. UVTO has been very accomodating in allowing them to stay at the facility prior to the deposit to meet some folks and "live the UVTO life." All in all my inlaws are still looking forward to their new life and new activities and having some creature comforts coming their way and so are we.

University Village Thousand Oaks is an outstanding retirement community and assisted living campus. In my time visiting and even working there I found it entirely delightful. The staff is well trained and very passionate about what they do. They seem to always be present when needed and are eager to assist. The facility itself is phenomenal. It is similar to a large apartment complex; however it is broken up into various areas that make it feel cozy instead of constraining. There is a lap pool and gym available to residents that are always in pristine condition. I have swum in the pool and it is always very clean and well supervised. There is a calendar of events that is open to all residents. They plan movie nights, dances, birthday celebrations, wine tastings, and many other wonderful events. Every Sunday in the dining room is a buffet brunch. It is a very social event at which I met many kind and interesting people. If I was going to live in a retirement community, it would be one the University Villages.

The facility was extremely spacious. There were very large roads scaling the hillside in the beautiful Wildwood area of Thousand Oaks. We visited both the assisted living facility (Named separately as "Oak View") and the independent living facility (Named "University Village"). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in the various questions we asked. We were able to sample one of the meals in the dining room and the food was great. The dining hall is very large with a multitude servers taking care of the residents. The area surrounding the living facility was beautiful and the community seemed to enjoy traveling about with golf carts. One thing that I was impressed by was the safety features in the facility. Each resident is given a wrist band or a necklace where in the case of any emergency the facility's staff can find the exact location of the resident and reach them in minutes.

I applied to work here and I took a tour of the community while I was there. It seemed like a great place to be and everyone treated the elders and community members with respect. They have a beautiful restaraunt inside the premises and the food smelled great. The rooms are pretty spacious with a homey feel for the people there. I did not see of the members looking depressed or sad. They all seemed pretty happy and content with the community. They also have many activities you can take part in such as swimming, crafts, and sports. It truly seems like a great place to live.
