The units and apartments are beautiful had a patio and balcony. The grounds themselves are just gorgeous. There’s lot of activities and interests groups. "

"We checked out most of the CCRC's on the west coast and decided that Valle Verde had everything we wanted. l We have lived here for 11/2 yrs. and couldn't be happier. Our home was part of the new construction and has 2 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, full kitchen, laundry, computer room, living/dining room and garage with a lovely patio. Valle Verde's charm is that the units are all one story and the landscaping is gorgeous. Our food is delicious and is served by a wait staff of mainly college students from UCSB and City College. We have found the people here to be welcoming and many have extraordinary backgrounds so meals are very interesting. Wine is also served with dinner if desired. We introduced Pickle Ball here and there are so many other sports and activities to do or not do as one chooses. Our dog is waiting eagerly for the off leash dog park which will open soon. Life is good ! "

"I've got some friends who live in Casa Dorinda. It's a very high-end, beautiful, but quite expensive place. That's the top-of-the-line, incredible food, and beautiful architecture. Everything about that place is excellent. The staff was very attentive, polite, and delightful. The food is excellent, and even their cappuccinos are good. I noticed they were having an exercise class, they had lots of activities, and took different buses to different places."

"My mother was in the Lutheran Home for about two years. I never wanted her to go to a nursing home but a time came when my husband and I could no longer care for her. It was a very emotion day when we took her. I felt like I'd failed her. A nurse saw my upset and took me aside and told me that I'd done the right thing. Give us two weeks and she'll be just fine and she was! I saw first hand the heart and soul of this place. I saw kindnesses that made me cry. There was laughter there were parties and friendships made. I witnessed nurses and caregivers who cried at the loss of their patients or who would give them hugs or stop to listen. It has been 2 years ago that my mother passed away and I'll always be grateful to the Lutheran Home in Solvang for the wonderful care they gave her... and me! "
