"The facility was extremely spacious. There were very large roads scaling the hillside in the beautiful Wildwood area of Thousand Oaks. We visited both the assisted living facility (Named separately as "Oak View") and the independent living facility (Named "University Village"). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in the various questions we asked. We were able to sample one of the meals in the dining room and the food was great. The dining hall is very large with a multitude servers taking care of the residents. The area surrounding the living facility was beautiful and the community seemed to enjoy traveling about with golf carts. One thing that I was impressed by was the safety features in the facility. Each resident is given a wrist band or a necklace where in the case of any emergency the facility's staff can find the exact location of the resident and reach them in minutes. "

"The one that I may possibly end up taking is Motion Picture & Television Fund. It’s a home for people who worked at the motion picture industry. You had a lot of room for movement. You can go to the theater, and you can go to the different dining rooms. It had good, large grounds, and they have lots of entertainment. They allow you to have your own electric car and you can run along the grounds with your car so you’re not stuck inside. They have a lot of different things going on all the time. I could possibly afford it because they base it on what your income and your money is. If you don’t have a lot of money, they’ll give you the lowest-priced one and if you live a long time, any money you have left over, they’d take it. They have just the 1-room. The bed is always in an alcove where you don’t see your sleeping quarters, but I’m talking about the least expensive one. If you get really sick, they’ll put you in their own hospital there. Some people might go there and not have Alzheimer's but if they get it, they’ll move them to the Alzheimer's Center because they have a whole big area for their Alzheimer's people. "

"At first I was not impressed with the facility. I put my mom somewhere else. Boy was that a mistake! After hesitantly placing mom in Villa Scalabrini after my mother was hurt in another facility by another resident, I realized the fantastic loving care that she was missing. The staff reach out and handle every detail. If I make a request it is addressed immediately. What a difference from other assisted living communities. Our family feels very loved here and mom's care is wonderful. Mom is much happier and as a child of this fantastic woman I have to say that I finally feel that mom is in a safe place and my worry factor has dropped significantly. "
