Varenita of Simi Valley

My aunt and uncle like the Varenita of Simi Valley very much. The food is top-notch gourmet. The staff members are very observant and very caring. We have been impressed with their attentiveness to the residents. For instance, my aunt had ordered shrimp served on a bed of fettuccine. She has Parkinson's so she had trouble cutting the shrimp to bite-sized pieces. Someone noticed it and said, 'Would you like some help with that, ma'am?' She said, 'Sure.' So little things like that make a big difference. The staff members are very friendly. Everybody from the maintenance guys to the front desk, to the aides that come, and to the nurse that comes to deliver the meds are all fabulous. Everybody in the dining area is fabulous, too. Even the guy that does the table is great. They have a bunch of entertainment and activities. I haven't observed much in that regard, but I've seen some of the musical groups that come and perform. My aunt and uncle are still getting settled in, but I know they'll participate more once they get settled in. They get a list every day of what's going on, and the list seems nice. You get what you pay for. They also have appliances in their room. They have a refrigerator, a microwave, a little two-burner cooktop, and a stackable washer and dryer. If they choose, they could do their weekly laundry on a regular basis. If they need something from a pharmacy, the CVS is right there with other restaurants. They have an in-house salon, and there are some shopping centers that they can walk to, so it's also unique in that regard.

I had put a deposit down at Varenita of Simi Valley, and I was in the process of getting the paperwork done. My husband had dementia, but he just went downhill all of a sudden when I was getting ready to place him. Overall, I like the feeling of this community. It was very nice and comfortable, and the people were very nice to work with. The person in charge of the senior memory care was very nice. He seemed to care about the people living there. He made sure they exercised, and he talked to them. He's very nice to them. I felt like the people were comfortable there, and they were happy. They had activities all the time. If I went there, I would like it there. The rooms were good, too. They're nice-sized.
