One of my top choices was Canyon Trails at Topanga Senior Living. I liked the programming, I liked that they allow pets, and I liked that they have outings and transportation. My mom is in the early stages of her disease process, so I need to ensure that it's a very active community. They even alter dietary needs. They make it cultural if needed. My mom likes cultural food, and so that was OK. They have lots of arts, crafts, and movement. They go to museums, they go to the park, and they go to different restaurants. It's just a variety of different things. Josh, the tour guide, was a nice gentleman. He's incredibly empathetic.

My mom moved into Canyon Trails at Topanga Senior Living. We are getting adjusted. They have to get adjusted to her and her schedule, her eating schedule, and habits because she's diabetic. So, we have to get that straight, and she's doing well so far. She's participating in the activities. She has a private room, nicely kept and clean. It's good. She has a nice view, is air-conditioned, and has a TV, so it's her own little bedroom set up. She brought her furniture with her. It does look like a studio and has her own bathroom. They have bingo, exercise, coloring, and walking. They do have a courtyard. The staff is very concerned, or they're very alert to what her needs are.

I toured Canyon Trails. The staff was excellent. They were very caring. It's not as fancy as the other place. It's better for somebody who needs more care and who doesn't care about looking like they're in a five-star hotel because it doesn't have that feeling. The rooms were nice. Nothing out of the ordinary, but they were fine. They have a very nice outdoor patio. They have a separate memory care area, too. It's an old place, and it's not as impressive, but it's good. For somebody who needs a higher degree of care, it's as good as the other ones.

My friend is in Canyon Trails. It's been fantastic. They gave me a tour and I felt extremely comfortable with the people that are in there taking care of the people. They were wonderful. They call every day if I have a question. They're very knowledgeable. They know how to take care of people, and I felt very good about it. The rooms are beautiful. I didn't try their food, but their chef has been there for 29 years. They post their menu every day. They have a movie theater, a walking club, he actually went for bingo one day, and they also have entertainment. When I took him, they actually had somebody playing the trombone with live music. It was wonderful. They have a nice patio for the people. It's very, very clean, and very nice.

My dad has moved into Canyon Trails. It's very clean. I like the staff. they were very helpful and welcoming. My dad is very comfortable there. I like the patio that they can go out to. The dining hall is very nice and clean. His room is clean. They have housekeeping once a day, so it's very nice. They have bingo, trivia, and Zumba. They have physical therapy. He enjoys all the arts and crafts that he does with them. I would definitely recommend them. We're very pleased with them.

My family member is in memory care, which is hard. But, with the (incredibly sensitive) support of the staff; the comfort of the room; the accommodations allowed to family; flexibility with food; they have been comfortable and well supported at this time. This means a lot to the family.

My mom has been at canyon trails memory care for around 1.5 years due to dementia. The staff there have been amazing. From Samantha at the front desk to the med techs Diane and Sandra my family has been so happy. Mom is safe and cared for, that’s the most important thing. Due to Covid we can’t be there as we would like but staff is great about keeping us up to date with any changes with moms behavior. Dealing with a loved one with dementia is hard and we are grateful for the staff here

My experience with Canyon Trails has been very good overall. Everything is quite satisfactory in terms of the staff and the location; it's been a pleasant arrangement so far. My wife's room there is sparse, but it's nice and clean. We furnished it with a few pieces. It's not home, but it's OK. She's not a big eater, which is a problem, but last night was the first time I saw her eat everything. I have also tasted the food and it's OK. They have a lot of activities for the residents, although she doesn't get involved. There are four of them that sit together at every meal and they're the healthiest residents there. Some of the residents look like zombies sitting in their chairs. Some of the activities include passing a great big ball back and forth, they have sing-alongs, they take them out to the patio to relax, they also take them out on short walks, they have musical entertainment, and bingo. The staff tries hard to take the residents out of their rooms and out of their beds. The staff is good, and everybody eats the food. It's expensive, but I'm sure it's worth every penny. Still, I was shocked when I got the first bill.

My husband moved into Canyon Trails about a month ago, and it's been good. He's safe and happy and seems to be doing fine. The food is OK. The staff is very good. My husband does bingo, takes walks and plays poker. He's doing all the activities.

Canyon Trails was excellent, but they could not support my cousin's medical needs. He needed more than an assisted living place. Everything at that place was wonderful. It was lovely, and I don't have complaints at all. I saw a lovely room with a patio. The kitchen area and eating area were lovely. They had a beautiful back patio area. It was immaculately clean and very nice.
