"We went to look at Vista at Simi Valley. They supply meals, snacks, and complete care. It's expensive but affordable. The rooms satisfied all the needs of the residents. They offer tours to various places quite often. They have a separate dining room for guests, which they will serve meals to. They supplied lunch and a tour when we were there."

"Oakmont of Simi Valley seemed very nice. They had a neat little window box outside of every room in the memory care where family could put items that belonged to that person, like an award, pictures of grandchildren, or something they made. They also had a huge radius where they would transport their residents for free. Everyone we encountered was very nice. Their food was delicious. They're gourmet. And they have a proprietary beverage with their own label on it that their chefs come up with. It was like an apple drink, and it was very good and all organic. The structure of the building was beautiful, too. They had activities going on in different rooms."

"My mom had been fully independent until she started falling in July 2025, and landed in the hospital then skilled nursing. I am in Texas so it was a daunting task finding my mom a community that I could feel comfortable with. I started the search online, but then someone from the hospital referred me to Atria Hillcrest and from the moment I spoke with the Executive Director, Remon, on the phone and later had a FaceTime tour with Community Sales Director, Marcelle, I knew that I found the place that would take care of my mom. They were patient, kind, and everything I needed them to be (and more!) as they guided me through this new season with my mom. It wasn’t until I flew in and spent two weeks helping her get settled that I realized how extraordinary they were. They have clearly built a culture of caring at this community from the moment you walk in the front door and are greeted by the team at the desk, to the lovely ladies who come to check in and care for my mom, and everyone else in between. They went well above what I expected, and it was everything I prayed for. It is evident that they hire people with a GENUINE love of what they do and for their residents. What an amazing gift you give to those of us who trust our loved ones in your care."

"Ivy Park at Wood Ranch was very clean. The employees were very friendly. Many of them have been there for a long time, so they're tenured. There were a lot of activities that were posted for the residents. They had exercises and scenic road trips where they would take the residents and classes. I saw a double room so you could rent both places. You could have it almost like a studio apartment where you had a space for the bedroom and then there was another area that was also a bedroom, but instead of it being set up as that, it was set up as a small living room. It had a TV, a small coffee table, and a loveseat. The room also had a small kitchenette. The facility was beautiful. It offered a great little courtyard area where the residents could sit outside, and enjoy some sunshine. It was a safe environment for them."

"We toured The Reserve at Thousand Oaks. It was wonderful. All the rooms or suites or apartments, whatever you call them, were assisted living connected. They're very nice people. The residents were friendly. The staff was delightful and very friendly. They knew people's names. They had lots of options in terms of activities, which was important to us. They welcome pets. It's a very community-connected feeling. The food looks good. The people who were eating looked appreciative. It wasn't mindless eating. You could see they were enjoying their meals."

"This retirement home is incredible! It really does feel like home, a fairly small facility that accomodates several seniors at a time, with great staff that give their residents lots of care and attention. I live not far from West Hills so I could visit frequently, and the place was always well-organized and the residents well-occupied and cared for. Oh and my grandma couldn`t stop raving about the food too!"

"My aunt and uncle like the Varenita of Simi Valley very much. The food is top-notch gourmet. The staff members are very observant and very caring. We have been impressed with their attentiveness to the residents. For instance, my aunt had ordered shrimp served on a bed of fettuccine. She has Parkinson's so she had trouble cutting the shrimp to bite-sized pieces. Someone noticed it and said, 'Would you like some help with that, ma'am?' She said, 'Sure.' So little things like that make a big difference. The staff members are very friendly. Everybody from the maintenance guys to the front desk, to the aides that come, and to the nurse that comes to deliver the meds are all fabulous. Everybody in the dining area is fabulous, too. Even the guy that does the table is great. They have a bunch of entertainment and activities. I haven't observed much in that regard, but I've seen some of the musical groups that come and perform. My aunt and uncle are still getting settled in, but I know they'll participate more once they get settled in. They get a list every day of what's going on, and the list seems nice. You get what you pay for. They also have appliances in their room. They have a refrigerator, a microwave, a little two-burner cooktop, and a stackable washer and dryer. If they choose, they could do their weekly laundry on a regular basis. If they need something from a pharmacy, the CVS is right there with other restaurants. They have an in-house salon, and there are some shopping centers that they can walk to, so it's also unique in that regard."

"Clarendon Senior living is a top-notch facility. We originally had mom in their new Lake Balboa facility, because that is where mom lived. I asked Justin, one of the owners, that if a vacancy opened in one of their Woodland Hills locations to let me know. Three months later, a spot opened up and we made the change. What a blessing, no more wasting hours on the 101 just to see Mom. And the care she gets is amazing. Thanks, guys!"
