"Belmont Village Calabasas was extremely clean and modern, the people were really nice, and it's about 5 minutes from my home. You can get different size rooms depending on the price. The facility was very new. The food was really good and you can order whatever you want. They had music, exercise classes, movies, and a lot of activities."

"We have toured the memory care facility at Vista at Simi Valley. I liked working with the staff who assisted me, talking with her, and meeting with her. I love the facility, the cleanliness, and the newness of it. I love the way they interact with the patients. I like the room size. It was a really good experience to kind of get a barometer of what to look for in a caring community like that. I liked that it was small, and there were like 40 people or less. In the memory care section, there was a better ratio of care. I like the way they set up the memory care section. The dining area was clean."

"I visited Oakmont of Simi Valley on behalf of a family member to learn more about the memory care services it provides for Alzheimer’s residents. I met with the director of the facility and a number of members of the memory care staff. Everyone was very helpful, forthright and informative. The marketing coordinator, Cristina, was especially patient and professional in answering all of my questions concerning the operation of the facility, and in providing multiple tours. The monthly charges appeared to me to be reasonable in comparison to other memory care facilities. I was also impressed with the physical layout of the facility, which included ample walking space, activity areas, pleasant dining areas and a large outside courtyard. The residents appeared to be well supervised and occupied with activities at the times that I visited. Ultimately, however, I decided that my relative’s present condition was not conducive to a move, but Oakmont of Simi Valley would definitely be number one on my list, if that move becomes feasible in the future."

"The first place I visited was Simi Hills. I was impressed with the facility. Everything was nice. The staff was very nice and showed us the rooms, the dining facilities, the courtyard, and probably everything else. I was impressed. The rooms were pretty small, like there's no way I would fit in the one-bedroom unit. I had to have a two-bedroom unit, and they did not have a two-bedroom available. The dining area was restaurant-style and looked very friendly. They had servers just like a restaurant, and it was very nice. They had a spa, workout facilities, an activities calendar, and a lot of menus for dinner. It looked like they were pretty well booked for things to do for the month. "

"Atria Hillcrest is very nicely laid out and has a kind of quiet place. It's easy to get into and out of. The food was good, and it seemed it offered less regimented meals. You had a little bit more possibility for taking meals differently at the regular times. The rooms are small but comfortable-looking. It's pricey especially if you're looking for 2-bedrooms. You're limited to one car. "

"My mom is a resident of The Reserve at Thousand Oaks. She's been in their assisted living since November 2012. MBK Senior Living purchased it. It's been a little while, but I wasn't familiar with what they've added (like these MedTechs, CNAs, and the new levels of service). I wasn't familiar with what that entailed; it turns out they could actually meet my mom's needs. Before I knew they just did medication management, but I wasn't sure what else they could do. We initially thought of moving her out. There's a lot of amenities. They have a swimming pool. They have activities, and they have exercise classes. They have an in-house PT and OT. They don't have Medicare aide stuff or home health stuff, but they have it if you're a resident. They have transportation every day instead of just certain days. They'll even drive them to church on Sundays. They have a pretty good restaurant. You could just pay at the front desk and eat there. It was really good quality food too."

"My overall experience at Belmont Village Thousand Oaks was wonderful. The staff members I met were friendly, so that was good. It was neat and clean. They had just started their dinner, and during that time, they were following the protocols for COVID. Overall, I was definitely happy from how that had a community kind of thing going on. I toured the dining area and one of the studio rooms, so it was good, and they were elevator accessible, too. I also saw the physical fitness center, no one was there in the evening, but they said that they have physical therapy."

"This retirement home is incredible! It really does feel like home, a fairly small facility that accomodates several seniors at a time, with great staff that give their residents lots of care and attention. I live not far from West Hills so I could visit frequently, and the place was always well-organized and the residents well-occupied and cared for. Oh and my grandma couldn`t stop raving about the food too!"
