Belmont Village Calabasas is beautiful. It's like a five-star resort, but the problem is it's out of our budget. They have very nice and beautiful apartments. The common area is beautiful and very first class, too. They have a pool. The staff was nice.

My mother-in-law was a resident of Belmont Village Calabasas for over five years. It's outrageously expensive, and it's not worth it on any level. It was clean. It was a new facility, and it looked nice. They had a pool, they had events, and they had all these different things. It completely fell apart after COVID. They shut the place down, and when it reopened, the meals were terrible, and they never changed their menu. They were understaffed, and they couldn't keep staff. One of the reasons why we moved my mother-in-law was because she was being neglected. She was left in her room all the time without care. It was just bad care, and the people who work there just don't care. The food was bad, and the activities went way downhill. She was in their largest two-bedroom. It was so expensive, and she kept needing more and more care, so we moved her into the largest one-bedroom that they had. They kept charging us for additional things. The more care she needed, the higher the cost went. It's $1,900 a month just to manage her medications. After COVID, everything was extra. It's like flying. You want a blanket? That's money. You want a pillow? That's money. You want food? That's money. It kept getting higher, and the quality of care at the same time was going down. She would fall in her room, push her pendants, and sit there on the floor for two hours. It's just really, really bad. It was not worth the money. They have a lot of work to do to get up to the level that would warrant that amount of money. They've got staff problems, they've got food problems, and they've got facility problems. They've hit a bad patch. My husband said that the air-conditioning and thermostat control had been missing a battery for six months. They just kept coming up with excuses not to do it. We complained many times. We met with the high-level staff many, many, many times, and they don't care. They told us the increase each year would be 3 to 5% and it was like 9.5 to 10% every single year. As the care was going down, that was happening. They said things would improve, but they didn't. They're grossly understaffed and overwhelmed, so they're not nice. The food was inedible. Even on the special meals, like Thanksgiving and Christmas, it was inedible. The facility is gorgeous. It's absolutely stunning. It has views of the hills and it's got big apartments, a gorgeous living room, a gorgeous dining room, and a beautiful pool that no one ever swims in. They did a great job when they did the fire evacuation during the fires. Facility management in an emergency was really good. They evacuated everyone to the Bonaventure in downtown LA and then got them all back in their rooms when the January fires were over, so it's pretty amazing.

Some of the most incompetent staff in the business. My dad is in wheelchair and paralyzed and cannot do anything for himself. He is forgetful and needs to be helped a bit more. You would think that they would make sure to be organized enough to have it in their daily schedule to pay more attention to him. No such thing. When it comes to mealtimes, the “Pals” do not come and get him to take him down to eat. And he is left hungry all the time. He asks for food, and they tell him that the kitchen is closed. They are not trained properly to assist him. Other residents tell me that there is plenty of incompetence going around asl well. It takes 3 people to take him out of his bed and put him in his wheelchair. He weighs 120 pounds. When he complains about the service here are some of the comments he gets. “Do you know who you are talking to?”. Or “You don’t pay my rent”. They have him sitting in the cafeteria for an hour after meals. They tell him, we will be back. They are not attentive to the needs of the residents. They come to his room because he needs help and they leave without properly taking care of his needs and leave. We will be back they say. And don’t come back. They lack staff, training, compassion and patience. I wouldn’t put my dog there to be taken care of. And god knows I adore my dog.

Belmont Village Calabasas was extremely clean and modern, the people were really nice, and it's about 5 minutes from my home. You can get different size rooms depending on the price. The facility was very new. The food was really good and you can order whatever you want. They had music, exercise classes, movies, and a lot of activities.

My aunt was living at Belmont Village Calabasas. The place was lovely. There was enough space for the little kids to come and visit my aunt. It was very nice. The food was very good, and the activities were very nice. My aunt was actually doing great until the end. It was pretty amazing.

We visited both assisted living and memory care at Belmont Village Calabasas. It's wonderful. It's beautiful, brand new, and well kept, with fresh flowers. It was just really nice. The person during the tour was very excellent and very helpful. The dining area looked very good for both sides. If I had the money, we would consider it. They have a gym, beautiful outside walking areas, and gardens. It was very well set up. The presentation of the food was very good.
