"I went to Oakmont of Camarillo. Everything was very, very nice. They take them on field trips, and it's like all three of them that I have seen are pretty much all the same. It's going to come down to money and it's going to come down to where my children feel comfortable with. The staff is good. They were all very nice. We've been there three years, and two years ago because we have money down on the place, so we kept going to all of their activities and things thinking that we were going to be there. We went to some of their dinners and we heard a speaker once. It was very luxurious."

"We're interested in the Sage Mountain Senior Living. I love Sage Mountain. It's beautiful. The people there are so nice. They're so understanding and they were very thorough with all my questions. They're always there if I have a question and need to call them; the communication is fantastic. Everything there was clean, it's new, and very accommodating. When you walk in it, you just get a friendly vibe right away. It's a place where I definitely would put my mom and feel comfortable knowing she's safe. When I did meet there and take a tour, I was given some samples of some pumpkin bread, and everything was fantastic, fresh, tasty, very clean. I would definitely recommend the food."

"We have toured Oakmont of Riverpark. We liked it a lot and so we have already reserved a room there for my grandma. It was very clean, and it was beautiful. It looked like a hotel on the inside. The room that I saw, they called it the olive model, and it's like two studios that are joined by the entrance and then it branches off into two separate rooms. It was very spacious. The bathroom was very large. Most of the rooms have really good views. The one that we are reserving for my grandma has a view of the courtyard, which is pretty with lots of flowers. As far as maintenance and upkeep, it was all very clean and well taken care of. They said that they clean each room from top to bottom once a week for the residents, and I saw them doing that when I was there. One thing that sort of stood out to me is that they have like a little kind of memory box window in front of each room. Each resident can put their personal belongings and pictures, and it kind of gives you an idea and get to know people by what their interests are. If the person can't quite remember their room number like if they forget what the room number is, they can walk by and they see all their stuff there and they realize that's their room. I thought it was kind of a neat little addition to help them remember which one was theirs. Everyone is very friendly, outgoing, and welcoming. Everything seems very brand new and clean. Everyone was very professional. They have a lounge there; it's not on the memory care side. But they have a lounge where people can go and watch sports and have a drink and have their family come over, which was nice. They have like a private dining room on the memory care side. If you wanted to celebrate a birthday, you can reserve it, so that way you can have your family there and you're all together in a private dining room, which I thought was very thoughtful."

"We visited and it was a very nice place -- the nicest we had visited. My mom really liked it, so it looked like a very viable option for her. I thought the apartments were pretty spacious. I was really quite surprised how nice it was. The colors were brighter and more optimistic-feeling than in other places. The cafeteria, the place where they eat, the rooms, and everything about it was very five-star and very top-notch. I was very amazed. "

"We liked Belmont Village Thousand Oaks. It was a good option for my parents and I liked the tour. The people were really wonderful. The tour was very nice, but the apartments were smaller than the other place we visited. It was clean, the dining area was very nice, and the mountains and hills were very pretty."

"Atria Hillcrest is very nicely laid out and has a kind of quiet place. It's easy to get into and out of. The food was good, and it seemed it offered less regimented meals. You had a little bit more possibility for taking meals differently at the regular times. The rooms are small but comfortable-looking. It's pricey especially if you're looking for 2-bedrooms. You're limited to one car. "

"I toured Laurel Heights. It was very modern, clean, and very nice, but it's just too far. The size of the rooms was medium and could have been larger. I like the balcony in the independent living apartment. The kitchen was a full kitchen. They had a washer and dryer. The living room and the bedroom were medium-sized, but it's OK. It was like an apartment. They had a library, a dining room, and an exercise room. The coordinator who gave us the tour was very informative. They had a theater, too."

"We moved into Cypress Place Assisted Living in their assisted living and we're liking our stay very much. We also like our apartment, it has a bedroom, living room, a little kitchenette, and a bathroom. They had it all ready for us; they're just good. We are enjoying the food and we like the dining area because it's very nice. We get a menu every week saying what's served, and if we don't like that, we have a menu on the table that we can order from. We're very happy here."

"We toured The Lexington Assisted Living. It was very clean. The staff was friendly. The room that we looked at was a studio. If it had had new carpet and new paint, it would have been perfect for what we would have wanted. The dining room was nice. It had a pool, not that my father would ever use that. It's an older place but it's well kept up, and the people we met were very nice. The staff was very friendly and very thorough."

"My mother has advanced Alzheimer’s Dementia and has been a resident at Treacy/Ventura Villa for over 6 years. I have transitioned my mother through several facilities in Ventura County as her condition advanced. When she reached the stage where she required 24 hour supervision, I needed to find a facility that I could trust to care for her. I have worked in assisted living facilities for more than 10 years. So I was well aware of the options available to me. When I visited Treacy Villa I was very impressed with the ownership and the staff at that time. Since I moved my mother in, the care that she has received has been as good or better than anywhere she has been a resident. The caregivers who take care of her have become like family to me. Dora is very pro-active and attentive to my mom and I can always count on her. She is amazing! I visit at least once a week and even through the transition to new management, I have found the level of care has only gotten better. I realize how difficult it can be to care for elderly people in the latter stages of life and not everyone is capable of doing this work. I feel blessed and so thankful to everyone who is involved in providing the loving care to my mom."

"Vista at Simi Valley has been transformed. My friend's mother has lived there for several months and she is raving about the place. She tells me that, since new management took over several months ago, the care is superb, food is great, activities plentiful. Apparently, better than ever. I've stopped by there several times and always received a gracious welcome from their staff. Sat in the new living room and looked at the models, which are beautiful. A+ rating in every way. "
