"We have lived at Valle Verde for about a year. We expected to be happy here, but we have been ecstatic. How to describe it? The homes are garden apartments, all on one floor, with lush mature landscaping. The residents are outstanding - a number of professors, teachers and doctors which guarantees interesting conversations at dinner. The food is outstanding with open seating, wine with dinner, and multiple choices from an excellent menu. Dress is "California casual" - no jackets needed! Health care is excellent - skilled nursing for post-op care or longer term care, assisted living for those that need more help, an excellent memory care unit, and a number of different independent living arrangements. The staff is, to a person, knowledgeable, responsive, and caring. What more could one want? "

"This is a high end facility which strives to perform to that expectation. The staff is wonderful taking great care to treat each person as an individual and listen to their needs. They take into account the personality of each resident also. My impression was they try to balance the individual freedom of the residents with their need for safety and security. The food is top notch, with specially hired chefs to keep the people happy. With that many residents, there are often many opinions about simple things like the menu, the facilities, the decor, etcetra. And they strive to keep everyone happy as well as providing healthy food choices. Some of the food seems pretty rich, but there are always healthy alternatives as well. The facilities are very nice with great attention to detail. Flower, plants, and gardens abound both in common areas and around individual buildings. The cost, of course, is a bit high, but its hard to imagine a better run organization, or a nicer place to live. The area provides wonderful weather with great views of surrounding hills and nearby neighborhoods. Its in one of he nicest cities in California, near the beach and every kind of restaurant you can think of. "

"Mission Terrace has been taking very good care of my dad. But it's too expensive for him. It's out of pocket, and it's too much. But they treat him very well. They treat him like he's a member of their family. He's really well cared for. My dad will live another 10 or 20 years easily, but it's just the dementia. The place is clean, and they're all professional. They do music; a man would play the piano. They have people around and have like an exercise group. My dad likes that. Because of his dementia, he can't really do the bingo, but they play bingo. They have movie nights where they watch an old movie, and a lot of people participate in that. Dad gets around with the physical therapist and exercises."
