My husband was at Santa Maria Care Center. People were recovering from illnesses, so there were all kinds of different levels of care. Everything from wheelchairs to not leaving their rooms at all. It was a very bustling place. They were great. They were very, very good. My husband was kind of out of it, having dementia and being right out of the hospital with COVID. It was an emotionally hard time for all of us. It was sufficient care. They took time to get to know us, but they were pretty astute to the needs of the patients. Nevertheless, they made sure that my husband made it to the dining room, and if he wasn't eating, they fed him. They were chatty with him at the meal, so it was personal care. There were activities available, but he did not participate. Since it was covered by insurance, we didn't have to pay anything out of pocket.
