Nursing Home Communities in Lompoc, CA

"My father is at Lompoc Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I guess for what it is, he doesn't like it at all. Of course, he probably wouldn't like anything except for home. But I think it's clean. It looks very clean, and it's inviting. I'm not very fond of the staff because we've been trying to get their help with trying to figure out exactly what he needs. The front-desk staff is good, but I'm not too fond of the administration, to be honest with you. It's a nice facility. However, the one thing I did notice is in the rooms. They have maybe twenty-two-inch TVs, and they're very far away from the patient. I know if I were there and I were old, I'd want a little bit bigger TV -- maybe a forty-inch TV or something that makes them more comfortable, since they spend so much time in that room. I think they have a small gym, a simple gym, and they have a barbershop. I don't think he was able to use it until just recently when he got a haircut. After about seven months, he finally got a haircut. Getting a hold of them is sometimes difficult. The phone system isn't great."

"The care and overall help at CCC is good. But the overall feeling in the facility is a little droopy; which is understandable due to the fact that the residents are all there due to their health standards v. a residency of simple assisted care. But for the most part .. the overall rating is a 4 out of 5 stars. "

"I researched this property for myself. I was very impressed with the facility very clean and administrator was very help. I was missing paper work and the marketing director came out to my home. One of the things I really like they offer entry fee this fee is good for life. Facility has three different styles of living residential, assisted, and nursing care. Property has restaurant style dining with white table cloths and menus. In the package they offer 7 trays free a month to have dinner deliver to your room, over 7 trays there is a fee. "

"The food is very basic. I mean, you get pancakes without butter and syrup. I would suggest bringing along condiments with you to improve on your dinners.!"

"My husband was at Santa Maria Care Center. People were recovering from illnesses, so there were all kinds of different levels of care. Everything from wheelchairs to not leaving their rooms at all. It was a very bustling place. They were great. They were very, very good. My husband was kind of out of it, having dementia and being right out of the hospital with COVID. It was an emotionally hard time for all of us. It was sufficient care. They took time to get to know us, but they were pretty astute to the needs of the patients. Nevertheless, they made sure that my husband made it to the dining room, and if he wasn't eating, they fed him. They were chatty with him at the meal, so it was personal care. There were activities available, but he did not participate. Since it was covered by insurance, we didn't have to pay anything out of pocket."

"My mom is currently staying at Marian Extended Care Center, and I would rate them the highest. I do like them. It's clean, they keep the facility up to date, and the kitchen areas seem very clean too. Just that it bothers me sometimes when they get in a hurry when they want to give her a sunbath or whatever. She says the food is good though and the place is quieter than the other one, and some of the staff are very helpful, but some are very snotty. They seem to be up to par on her medications, and they keep me more updated than the other place did. Since the COVID thing, I don't think they really had any activities as of now, but I know at one time, they used to take them out in the patio area and let them sit out there and refresh in the sun. I don't know if they even let them do that now."
