"Country Villa Sheraton is not horrible, but it is very short-term. It is for rehabilitation until my aunt can come home. The food isn’t great. The people are very nice. It is not the very best, but it is not horrible. I saw that they had something like a nail day, some socials, and some music. The staff is nice, and they are attentive. It is like a little close-knit society, and there are all different kinds of people. "

"The staff was exceptional at Ararat Nursing Home. They were absolutely top-notch. They gave us a complete tour of the facility even if the waiting list is very long. The place is super clean. "

"My sister was in this facility for 4 years, until her passing. She was completely and totally unresponsive and not able to communicate in any way. My brother in law visited EVERY day and I was there approx once a week until the month before her death when I was there every day as well. The facility is immaculate, the staff responsive, sensitive & caring to both the patients and the families. I CONSISTENTLY saw the highest level quality of care I have EVER seen in any facility and, unfortunately, I have had (too) much experience with skilled nursing facilities. The patient was kept very clean and there was ONE incident of infection in the entire 4 years (she had a trache & was on a feed tube)--a statistic virtually unheard of in such a setting. Keep in mind that the patient was unable to advocate for herself in any way (including using a buzzer). I cannot say enough about this amazing facility. "

"Panorama Gardens was fantastic. I wish the place was more broad, but you got to do what you have. They were very professional. They know what they're doing. The only problem is that they might have to get more specialists from time to time if you go in there, because my mom got better with their treatment, but the underlying health problem that she had, they couldn't see it. For example, my mom had kidney failure and she had pancreatic complications, which sad to say, the nurses don't see it. That's the only problem I believe that can be fixed and improved in time. Other than that, they were nice to me. They had activities. They had multiple types of coloring books, brain activity courses, a lot of socialization, and events as well. They give open access to the patients to reach out to their families and loved ones. They have freedom of movement to go around to the facilities to exercise and stretch out. They did the best thing they can do as a rehab facility. I don't really have any cause against it."

"Facility is old and a bit shabby. But the staff is competent and caring even though there are communication problems sometimes. I had a good rehab experience and recovered enough to go home with no issues."

"My husband has been in 3 Skilled Nursing Facilities and this is by far the best. Clean, quiet and everyone is very attentive. I can’t believe how quickly they get things done compared to other facilities, and how well they have taken care of my husband. My thanks go out to everyone there. "

"My mom is now at Lake Balboa Care Center. It's an older facility, but compared to another one that I went to, it's much better. However, the staff members seem to lose things quite often, and when you ask for help, you get pushed from one person to another person to another person. It's just hard to get a straight answer sometimes. As for the activities, they have some people that come in and play bingo or play blackjack. They watch old movies and things like that. The dining area is cheerful. There are windows there. The food seems to be OK. Some of the staff members are really nice, and then others not so. I would say most of the people are pretty helpful."

"My uncle is at Mountain View Convalescence Hospital for two months already. The place is very clean and the food is good. They give his medicines and injections on time, and their therapy department is very good with him. They treat him okay there. It's just that the staff is too disorganized, and I have some issues with that. They're getting a little bit better now, though. We're looking to transfer my uncle to a different facility where he doesn't have to share a room with the other residents. It's been hard for him ever since he's been hospitalized for kidney failure. He's adjusting a little bit now, but he doesn't feel comfortable. He wants a place that feels like home and not like a hospital. "

"I thought Jewish Home (Grancell Village) was the best one my husband had ever been in. We were not Jewish, but it was one of the best. The care there was unbelievable. They had entertainment and they had excellent food. Most of them were regular food, but they were very good. The whole thing was great. You could go outside. They had a beautiful garden area, you could sit on one of the tables, and they had several picnic tables there. They actually had a store for the visitors to be able to buy sandwiches or something for themselves. "

"My mom stayed at this facility in the spring of 2011 for three weeks after breaking her ankle. My grandma also stayed there several years back. I am pleased to say that this facility greatly improved from the last time I was there. The staff was much more friendly and attentive to my mom's needs then they were when my grandma was there. The equipment such as the IV and bed was also working properly which was not the case last time. I am also pleased to say that this facility was also very clean and the staff changed all the linens regularly. I have been in other assisted living homes in the San Fernando Valley and this was probably the cleanest one I have been in. The nurses at California Healthcare were always very friendly and never hesitated to help my mom get to the restroom when she requested help. The only real negative from her stay and why I give this facility four stars instead of five is that the rooms were small for people staying in short stay accommodation (there were three to a room) and my mom didn't have enough space to use her walker and therefore get to the restroom on her own. It was also difficult for me to visit her when staff was attending to another patient due to the lack of a place to sit or stand. All in all, I would recommend this facility to friends or other family "

"My friend was able to get into Maclay Healthcare Center for her physical therapy. It's a nice place, it's very clean, and they take the patients outside when the weather is nice. I'm impressed that when you go there to visit somebody you have to do it through a computer where you log in and log out when you leave. There's somebody there all the time. She's in a double room and there was another patient there with her. Her room looked very clean. You can bring in food. The parking was not too great because it was on a busy street. Other than that, the facility looked pretty clean, and the outside area was nice."
