"I came to visit a long time friend that recently moved into this place, I have to say, by far, it is nice and clean, very homelike. At home she kept herself very busy. I am happy to see hey have many options here to keep the Residdnts busy with a variety of activities daily, from going on outings with facility employees, to having organized table games. My friend also informed me that she can request materials so that she can keep busy if she feels like staying in her room. I think she will continue to be very happy here! 10/10"

"The staff at Granada Hills Care Center was very kind, helpful, and attentive. The building was very antiquated though and it needs to be remodeled and redone. My aunt did make progress there with her physical therapy. She was walking at the time. She had hip surgery and the rehabilitation was coming along beautifully. Then something happened there and her hip got dislocated, so she had to go back to the hospital and have another surgery and then I didn't take her back there. They had a beautiful Easter celebration where a church came in and the church sponsored a nice service for the residents. Then they had an Easter egg hunt for the kids. They do a lot of activities there. It was very nice. The garden area was beautiful. The outside was very nice, but the inside needs to be completely redone. It was an old hospital. My aunt ate her food, and she liked it. I read reviews and I was told before I started to go see places, that Granada Hills was one of the better facilities. The food was great, and the activities were amazing. The physical therapy was outstanding."

"My sister was in this facility for 4 years, until her passing. She was completely and totally unresponsive and not able to communicate in any way. My brother in law visited EVERY day and I was there approx once a week until the month before her death when I was there every day as well. The facility is immaculate, the staff responsive, sensitive & caring to both the patients and the families. I CONSISTENTLY saw the highest level quality of care I have EVER seen in any facility and, unfortunately, I have had (too) much experience with skilled nursing facilities. The patient was kept very clean and there was ONE incident of infection in the entire 4 years (she had a trache & was on a feed tube)--a statistic virtually unheard of in such a setting. Keep in mind that the patient was unable to advocate for herself in any way (including using a buzzer). I cannot say enough about this amazing facility. "

"Country Villa Sheraton is not horrible, but it is very short-term. It is for rehabilitation until my aunt can come home. The food isn’t great. The people are very nice. It is not the very best, but it is not horrible. I saw that they had something like a nail day, some socials, and some music. The staff is nice, and they are attentive. It is like a little close-knit society, and there are all different kinds of people. "

"My aunt is in Rinaldi Convalescent Hospital. Her room is a nice size. She shares her room with another person, and it is bright and clean. They're very good about making sure that the hospital smells good. There's a nice smell when you walk through it. The staff is very caring and attentive to her needs, but sometimes you have to go find someone to get help. They're busy. I go there a lot and I find myself trying to have people come in and help me do certain things. My aunt is not particularly fond of the food, but she doesn't like a lot of things either. I see other people's food, and it looks pretty good. They have activities for the residents in their activity room if the resident is mobile to go in there, either in a wheelchair or with their walker. They have activities for the holidays. They had a big Cinco de Mayo celebration. They try to keep the staff morale up because it was Nurses Week. They had Crazy Hair Day, and yesterday was Western Day. It is kind of engaging for the patients because the staff is dressing up and it's something nice to see. It makes a quite festive environment for them. When you walk in, it's very nice and inviting. They have an outside area and patients can go out there and stretch their legs or sit in their wheelchairs and get some sun. It's nice and quiet inside the building. Overall, it's good. It's just not meeting my aunt's needs at this point. The administrative staff and the Social Services department are very helpful. They will go out of their way to help you, guide you, and support you."

"Panorama Gardens was fantastic. I wish the place was more broad, but you got to do what you have. They were very professional. They know what they're doing. The only problem is that they might have to get more specialists from time to time if you go in there, because my mom got better with their treatment, but the underlying health problem that she had, they couldn't see it. For example, my mom had kidney failure and she had pancreatic complications, which sad to say, the nurses don't see it. That's the only problem I believe that can be fixed and improved in time. Other than that, they were nice to me. They had activities. They had multiple types of coloring books, brain activity courses, a lot of socialization, and events as well. They give open access to the patients to reach out to their families and loved ones. They have freedom of movement to go around to the facilities to exercise and stretch out. They did the best thing they can do as a rehab facility. I don't really have any cause against it."

"My mother is at the Casitas Care Center, it's a decent place, and she's being taken care of pretty well. She's currently being rehabbed as much as they can. They have activities and things there for her to do, and she interacts with the staff and other people there. They even did a breakfast thing this morning. The staff members have all been friendly and helpful. Anytime I've ever gone up to ask for anything, they've done it right on the spot. I feel good about them; they've done a nice job. Overall, I'm satisfied with the service we have gotten from them."

"I did like Magnolia Gardens because even though it was packed, they did not have any available space and they were extremely busy the day that we went, but the lead nurse took time to talk to us and gave us information about their facility and everything. Their location was nice because it was sort of secluded with the trees; it didn't feel like an institution. The lead nurse helped us, but I felt like someone else could have helped direct us -- like an aide or something. They didn't need to leave the lead nurse to do everything. Everything was clean and they were attending to the patients very well; like I said, they were extremely busy. I did see a few doctors walking around and physical therapists with the people. They didn't have the front entrance type of thing where they have brochures or somebody like a hospitality person or something just for the reception. We saw people doing different things, and I think that was the problem. You saw some people that could have helped us, but they chose not to or management has them not helping us. "

"My mom did not like the food, she said it was very bland and tasteless. She was able to order off a selective menu, but unfortunately it all tasted the same. The Nursing staff was quick and prompt when they actually came to the room. She had a problem with being put in a room with another patient who had Dementia, that continually screamed and cried throughout the night. It would be good to place people who are there for just rehabilitation and not incoherent, together in the same area. The facility was well taken care of. Although he air conditioner kept going out throughout the facility. This was very uncomfortable for her because she suffers from Multiple Sclerosis, people who suffer from this disease are very affected by heat. The Facility is located right down the street from a high school, which led to some problems with high schoolers harassing some of the patients while they were outside of the facility. "

"My mother was at Sylmar Health Rehabilitation Center. She was in a room with two other patients, and it was tiny. The staff was very good, very nice, and very supportive. The dining area was clean. I guess they could improve the ambience a little bit to make it look less institutional. "

"My diabetic uncle was undergoing dialysis and needed a facility that would be able to commute him to his weekly dialysis appointments. There were ride share programs in the area, but there was a small out of pocket expense that we didn't want to have to worry about on a weekly basis. We toured Mountain View Convalescent and were instantly drawn in by the neighborhood and the staff. The facility really does have a mountain view of the Los Angeles National Forest in the Northeast Valley. Staff members Stephanie and George were kind enough to explain all the care they offered and we were happy to hear that they do on site dental work. We didn't find that at other facilities on this side of the valley. My uncle chose this location because it is only a short drive away to Olive View UCLA Medical Center and they accept Medicaid. The staff was really on top of meeting his dietary restrictions and he was never bored because they had a lot of activities throughout the day. He stayed for four months before qualifying for Section 8 housing in a senior community in the Antelope Valley. I highly recommend this small facility because of the sense of community, location and affordability.' "

"My mother passed away April 7, 2010 and after going through 2 nursing home nightmares (Astoria in Sylmar and another facility in Lancaster, CA)... we landed in MaClay. The service, the staff, the facilities were simply amazing. The genuine care and treatment from the cleaning staff, to the nurses' aids, the RN's to the cooks, they were all just so wonderful to my mother. Eventually, we were offered a one-bed room as my mom was transitioning and leaving us. I am forever in debt with Maclay Healthcare for the attention they gave not on to my mom but to our entire family. They were angels in disguise and for that I will forever cherish and thank them. Thank you guys!"

"I came here for Rehab during covid. This place was clean I had way more than enough food so those that don't like it are probably on some kind of medication making it hard to taste or maybe it taste badd to them but I'm not on that kind of medication and it tasted fine and every me who's truly more than I could eat. I never rang the nurses bell and had to wait longer than 10 minutes which was only one time. Every other time if I rang the nurses button someone was here within 2 minutes maximum. The formal physical and occupational therapy I Received following my hip joint replacement surgery was excellent quality. My Room and bathroom were kept clean daily even if they did not hear from me for a while someone would pop their head in and make sure I was doing OK and the staff was truly pleasant and loving and I think that makes a success. I leave here tomorrow with a smile on my face."

"My brother is at Grand Valley Manor. It's a good facility with lots of professional staff. The facility is very clean and organized. He likes the food there, and they do have the nutritional value count for him. They are aware of his medical needs and are conscious about it. They also do keep a good record of the personality and the patient's temperaments. They do get the patients up, and they don't just leave them in the corner sitting alone. I'm impressed with them. "

"My mom stayed at this facility in the spring of 2011 for three weeks after breaking her ankle. My grandma also stayed there several years back. I am pleased to say that this facility greatly improved from the last time I was there. The staff was much more friendly and attentive to my mom's needs then they were when my grandma was there. The equipment such as the IV and bed was also working properly which was not the case last time. I am also pleased to say that this facility was also very clean and the staff changed all the linens regularly. I have been in other assisted living homes in the San Fernando Valley and this was probably the cleanest one I have been in. The nurses at California Healthcare were always very friendly and never hesitated to help my mom get to the restroom when she requested help. The only real negative from her stay and why I give this facility four stars instead of five is that the rooms were small for people staying in short stay accommodation (there were three to a room) and my mom didn't have enough space to use her walker and therefore get to the restroom on her own. It was also difficult for me to visit her when staff was attending to another patient due to the lack of a place to sit or stand. All in all, I would recommend this facility to friends or other family "

"While this facility is not in the best neighborhood, nor have the best curb appeal, I could not be much happier about the location my grandmother has been living for over the past five years (and actually it is probably closer to 10 years at this point). She has always been well taken care of in her time there. Suffering from Alzheimer's, she cannot necessarily let us know the level of care, but during all visits, she is clean, her wounds are taken care of, and her needs are being met. The staff has been very helpful and kind. They are respectful of family wishes concerning her care, and also communicate any health concerns as they arise. This facility has been a blessing for my family. Not only is my grandmother well cared for, but it has not taken every penny the family has collectively to ensure such excellent care. I would recommend it to friends and family. "
